Dr. Curzie received my undergraduate degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. I majored in biology with a minor in psychology. Dr. Franz was one of my favorite professors, offering guidance and excitement about my career choice. I chose to go to the fountainhead of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic. My father and I visited the college and got to attend a rugby game. One of the players got injured on the field. A bunch of guys ran onto the field, one performed an adjustment on the player. He got up and ran into the game like nothing ever happened! My entire experience at Palmer was one I will never forget. I am still friends with many faculty and staff there and I still get great hugs from the ladies at the bookstore.Dr. Joel Adkins, DC
The philosophy of chiropractic is so important to me that I spent over five years obtaining a degree in Chiropractic Philosophy. The power that made the body, heals the body explains much of what we do. The body knows how to function, it just needs no interference. I love adjusting children, they respond so well and so completely.

Dr. Jay and Brad talk to another expert, Dr. Gregg Friedman, DC on documentation. Listen to how he built his companies and responded to this subject matter.
Dr. Friedman's comments:
When I was just five years old, like most little kids, I had a ‘hero.’ Not a fireman, or the President. My hero was my dad.
I’m lucky. I look to him for advice, and he is a real inspiration to me. He teaches me a lot about life and, more importantly, about my future. In fact, he shapes my destiny. But that’s not all…
You see, dad is our family doctor, too. As far back as I can remember, my entire family sees dad for all of their health problems and to ‘stay feeling good.’ And, he would entertain us with story after story of ‘miracle cases’ in his office. Dad is always so passionate about his work. And, listen to this…
One day, dad and I have a talk after he ‘adjusts’ me. He explains that he removes nerve pressure in my body, and that the human body knows how to heal itself, and because of that he doesn’t use drugs or surgery at all. And, you know what? The adjustment doesn’t hurt – it actually feels good. So, after dad and I have our talk, I know that I want to be a chiropractor like my ‘hero’, dad. And that’s how it happened!
It’s strange how life is, because now people come to see me with their health problems and concerns. Several times a day patients thank me for helping them with their health problems. But I can’t really take the credit. My confession is that I’ve never healed anyone of anything. What I do is perform a specific spinal adjustment to remove nerve pressure, and the body responds by healing itself. We get tremendous results. It’s as simple as that!
While growing up in Scottsdale for most of my life, I attended Chaparral High School and graduated from Arizona State University. While at A.S.U., I completed the pre-med requirements while getting a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. I attended Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now called Southern California University of Health Sciences) and graduated in 1986. I quickly moved back to Arizona and began practicing in Scottsdale. In 2006, I moved our office to the Arcadia area, closer to home.
I like to explain all the options to patients and serve them where they want to be served. Although many of my patients have been coming in regularly for years, I also enjoy seeing the look on a skeptical patient's face when we get them feeling better faster than they ever imagined."

Recent articles about Vertebral Artery Dissection in the national press have raised the controversy and called upon expert responses from the chiropractic profession. In this episode of TechTalk, Dr. Jay Greenstein and Brad Cost interview Dr. William Lauretti, DC about the subject matter to help the profession understand the issue, learn to look for symptoms, and how to answer patient questions.
Studies appearing in the New England Journal of Medicine offer the first clue that these attacks upon cervical manipulation have been largely misdirected, as the annual rates of spontaneous vertebral artery dissection (VAD) have been estimated to occur between 2.5 and 3 times per 100,000 patients, as much as 30 times greater than dissection rates attributed to chiropractic manipulation.7,8

Dr. Martin has had many leadership roles in his professional life and is not extending it to a different level. The guys ask him why he is running for this political office. My reasons are simple, I am running to create a prosperous future for my family, my business, and my community. I will be a voice for small business owners, who are the heartbeat of our rural counties. I know that when government intervention is limited, it allows for businesses to thrive. My wife and I have a young son, who reminds me every day that my actions today impact his future.
I have spent my life in West Tennessee and know the values we all share. Values that I will bring with me to the Tennessee Capitol. Our state has become a beacon of inspiration for the rest of the country because of these conservative values we hold in West Tennessee.
