Description

An utterly engaging and deeply profound listening experience. An exceptional experiential journey into the very heart of what it means to be an authentic human being. Absolutely loved.
The Culturium - A compendium of all things timeless, wise and beautiful.

Since we became self aware we have felt impelled to discover what it means to be in the world. Culture, science, art and spirituality have all provided cosmologies and technologies to enable meaning. We are surrounded by paths to certainty, each implicitly claiming its ascendancy and exclusivity.

Perhaps, our pathway to truth is to fully experience what it is to be present. What we are at our very source. The Psychologist and the Mystic is a dialogue and synthesis of mystical and psychological insight with a special and practical emphasis as to how it may be lived, simply and profoundly.

Come join us for our final episode of the first series as we embark together on a special pilgrimage to the heart of stillness. This episode may induce a hypnagogic state so we recommend you do not operate any machinery, or drive, while listening.
Escape from the faulty data set of imagined threats and the emotional knocks and bruises relentlessly dragged into present experience. In this week's dialogue we discuss: the predictive autopilot, an obsolete mechanism, our future is found in imagination, past experience is no indicator of future performance, the knocks and bruises damage the mechanism, training to recognise the noise drowning the signal, who is the I that is thinking up these thoughts, the pattern interrupt, the silent witness, go deeper, feeling into fascination, what everybody is looking for, an escape from thinking, the self reflexive emotional escalation, not privileging thought or sensation over anything else, a guided meditation dissolving boundaries.
We are possessed by the spirit that never existed. Time to exorcise its imaginary hold and throw away the post-it notes. In this week's dialogue we discuss: predicting and planning versus unfolding, resilience, rolling with the punches, life can knock us down, the detached perspective of the therapist, what it feels like is not how it is imagined, an empowered roadblock of stories, the dunce cap wearing doer, non-doership, the imaginary possession, the post-it note self, a deepening, always living in the future, our innate capabilities.
If I am an alcoholic, who is that I? Dive deep into the world of addiction, compulsion, surrender and transcendence. This week's dialogue: addictions, acceptance, the power of the powerless, opening the bandwidth, you are not the addiction, low level addictions, what is that I? the attention deficit, addicted to thought, being here now, what is time? the experience of no time, eternity now, embedding behavioural change, an energy investment, who - or what - is experiencing this, the reality simulator that becomes the nonsense simulator, our terrible predictive capacity.
Can we live with an ease that transcends the incessant agitation of a world in constant competitive tension? This week we explore: the conditioned mental narrative, persistence, the share house television, reducing or turning off the mental narrative, an unexpected stillness, interrelated not separate, an all encompassing process, unencumbered navigation, beyond competition, letting go of what? from the object to the subject, that continuity we feel we are, unconditioned and uncaused.
How can lived experience align with deep presence, ease and a stillness redolent with creative capacity? In this week's episode we discuss: bringing ease and stillness into daily life, an immersion through context, the detail is lost, conversations and forgetting, words and thought arise from source, the space between the words, a mysterious life, the imagined past and future, a relaxed learning, context creates transformation, letting go of belief, a life without intention. your special power.
