Description

When you’re in your 20s, everything feels complicated. Which is where The Undone comes in, a show about navigating the “adult” world without a GPS, friendship, love, sex, personal politics, and... air fryers. Meet Emily and Lucy. They work at Mamamia and they live together in the inner city. They spend their days trying to work out how to turn the oven on, why their dating lives are such garbage fires, and why sometimes their tiny daily struggles seem just as insurmountable as the world’s biggest problems. Every week on The Undone they’ll be sharing dating stories and talking about the biggest issue in their world, because... nothing is simple in your 20s.

When you're on your period, is sex off the table for you? Or are you extra horny? There should be no stigma around period sex, but it can be daunting. So, Lucy has put together a bunch of tips to make that time of the month extra pleasurable, as well as clear up some misconceptions. Also, Em and Lucy answer a listener dilemma from someone who's (smaller) friend called themselves 'fat' and wants them to understand why this hurt. PLUS we read a listener's Dating Diary about a drunken date that ended with a serious dose of the ick. THE END BITS GET IN TOUCH: Feedback? We’re listening! Have you ever used a dating app? While a lot of us have, some people are just getting on them for the first time (or re-downloading them). Emily and guest host Emma Gillespie discuss how to create an authentic profile, the red flags to watch out for and what to expect from the people on them. Also, guest host Emma NEEDS to talk about an article she read recently, written by an intern in New York who was pursued by a very famous man...and whether a relationship with such a huge power imbalance can work. PLUS Emily recounts a dating experience where she was love-bombed to the extreme, and unfortunately Emma can relate. THE END BITS Read The Movie Star and Me by Domenica Feraud. Emily has brought her own Dating Dilemma to this episode of The Undone, after she matched with a friend's brother on a dating app. She wants to know, is it ever ok to date your bestie's brother, or is it asking for trouble? Also, these days it's pretty standard procedure to split the bill after the first date. But considering that the wage gap in Australia still exists, and the cost that goes into going on a date if you're a woman- is that actually fair? Plus we read a Dating Diary from someone who was asked out by a man with a very strange request... Don't worry, we found out exactly why! You've probably heard of your Love Language, but what about your Argument Style? According to this article, knowing how you argue could be the key to a happy relationship. Em and Luce break down the six styles PLUS how to have a healthy fight with the people in your life that you care about. Also, according to TikTok, "Twee" is back (if you don't know what that is, think Peter Pan collars, bangs and moustaches on everything), but is there a dark side to this returning trend? Plus, we read a dating diary story from a listener whose date ended with the most common bodily fluid we get told about on The Undone (and it's not the one you think). Happy Holidays! This holiday season we thought we'd treat you with a few bumper episodes of some of our most popular segments. It's the segment we get the most submissions, feedback and laughs from, Dating Diary! We get so many stories to our Anonymous Confession Form that we wanted to fill a whole show with your tragic, hilarious stories. Em and Luce read stories about dates that end in anaphylactic shock, a gifted vibrator and explosive diarrhea (all different stories, thank god). Plus, we received a listener dilemma from someone who isn't sure they want to keep sleeping with their FWB after finding out their an anti-vaxxer, begging the question, can you sleep with someone even if you have different morals? Happy Holidays! This holiday season we thought we'd treat you with a few bumper episodes of some of our most popular segments. This episode, it's all about Em's unpopular opinions. We all know she loves dropping a controversial opinion, so she rounds up the ones that got the most heat online, plus a few of our listeners spicy thoughts. Happy Holidays! It's almost Xmas so we thought we'd treat you with a few bumper episodes of some of our most popular segments. First up, Lucy's thoughtful (and admittedly unqualified) advice. We get tons of dilemmas from listeners, so we break down her most asked questions about body image, breaking up a share house, dropping out of uni, plus Em's most requested advice about dating with strict parents. Have you heard of No Date December? Probably not, because it's something Em made up. She refuses to date anyone in December because of something called 'Wedding Reception Syndrome'. Plus, we look back at the year that was with The Undone Unwrapped, including how many listeners wrote in to tell us they had vomited on someone's penis (way too many).  And we read a Dating Diary from a listener who went on a date with her favourite musician and attempted to play it cool. In this episode with special guest host Emma Gillespie, Lucy and Emma break down the clues on someone's social media that they've been dumped, from the meaningful quote, to the hot selfie, to dying your hair blonde.  Plus, after such a rough year, we're focusing on Xmas gifts that cost little to no money, because who needs the added stress. 2021 is almost in the rear view mirror and we are not looking back. This year we've  seen some dating trends we never want to encounter again, so Em breaks them down, from the ridiculous to the insidious. Plus, we all have some toxic traits when in relationships (except Em, apparently). Whether it's giving the silent treatment, starting a fight on purpose or asking a question you don't want the answer to, Lucy acknowledges her own and the ones our audience relate to the most. How do you feel about dating post-lockdown? Most of us are excited to date, but also want to just spend time with our friends, and have also forgotten how to date properly and don't know what we want out of it. In other words, we're confused. Em has discovered a new dating trend she thinks sums up these feelings. Plus, we need to discuss the dating PR campaign. It's when you tell your friends you're breaking up up with your partner, only to get back together, so you have to sell their good traits back to your friends. We're sorry to tell you, it never works. And Lucy tells a story for Dating Diary about meeting a guy in real life she matched with on tinder she was sure was a bot, and awkwardness ensued. Have you heard of Authority Anxiety? Maybe you haven't heard of it, but a lot of us have felt it. It's a very specific anxiety that many people feel when they talk to people like doctors, police, teachers and their boss, and we need to talk about it. Plus, last week Kendall Jenner wore a dress to her bestie's wedding that really stole the stole. It infuriated Lucy so we have a chat about some other times it's not cool to take the attention away from a friend. Dating with an STI can be hard, but it's definitely not uncommon. This week, we explore the stigma related to STIs and get some advice from a listener who has been dating with her herpes diagnosis for 4 years, and speak to Dr Ginni Mansberg about how to make sure you're practicing safe sex. Plus, Em breaks down the four stages of grieving a situationship, aka a relationship that never passed the casual stage. Our confessions form (which you can submit to here) has been overflowing with hilarious stories lately, and there's one type of experience that we keep getting over and over...people vomiting on d**ks. It's inspired us to release this bumper episode on all things oral sex. Lucy tells us about her first experience giving head (if you can call it that), plus we read some of our audiences funniest stories, before giving some tips for going down on both penis and vulva owners, sans vomit. Finally, Em reads a Dating Diary story about someone who went on a date and ended up paying for it, dearly. Have you heard of 'meditative orgasms'? They're orgasms you can achieve with your mind, without touching your genitals at all. Emily gave it a go and the results were, well, explosive. She describes exactly how to achieve this "12/10 experience". Plus, a tweet about the weirdest thing we've gotten in trouble for at work had Em and Lucy laughing, and reflecting on times they've gotten in trouble (perhaps deservedly) in the workplace, and Em reads an anonymous dating story from a listener who saw right through a first date's weird lie. The End Bits  Read "I wasn't allowed to laugh." 37 women on the weirdest thing they ever got in trouble for at work.
