Ransom Experience will bring you Raw and Real stories of everyday people. Who have gone through Ransom Reprogram or have volunteered with Ransom Ministries over the years We will talk with men and women that share their stories of Struggles of incarceration, trauma, abuse, homelessness and addiction which has propelled them to perseverance, restoration, and joy. They will share their lives with the listeners in order for others to understand the obstacles that they have overcome to get them where they are now. We will also hear from people who have had their lives changed from building relationships and serving those who many times are forgotten in our society. Our hope is that people will see that these individuals are still people - normal, everyday people, who just need someone to listen and to care. The goal of this podcast is to help us see people the way God sees them. "This is Raw, This is Real, This is the Ransom Experience"

Today we talk to Sonya who is a graduate of Ransom Reprogram and the Home of Grace. Sonya tells us of the struggles she went through with relationships, addiction and recovery. She is now seeing reconciliation with her family and also with herself. She is seeing her life be restored and experiencing joy. We know you will be blessed by her story.
Today we talk with Heather Morgan. She was in our first class that we partnered with the Home of Grace Rehab for women. She will tell of victories and defeats but how the grace of God helped her come out of the darkness with the help of Wings of Life another of our partners. She is again clean and sober and working towards her goals. We are so proud of your perseverance and we know you will be also as you listen. Share this with someone you know who thinks there is no hope or someone who has a loved one that is on that cycle of addiction.
Today we talk to the Team from Little Rock Arkansas Trinity United Methodist Church. They have been coming to help us each summer for the last 10 years. We are excited to bring to you in their words what this trip means to them. You will hear from students that have been coming here since they were 11 and 12 and are now graduated High School or going into their senior year. We hope you enjoy this
Today's episode we get to talk to our volunteer teaching duo Lori and Margie. They will share about growing up as preacher kids and learning a lifestyle of serving others. We will talk about their families and how and why they were called to serve at Ransom. We know you will be encouraged by their story.
Today we talk to Brooke who went through Ransom Reprogram back in 2019!!  You will hear a story of growing up with a strong mother who persevered through many things. Brooke shares how trauma and feeling like she didn't fit in and allowing peer pressure to push her into making bad choices along the way. She also felt guilt and shame from these decisions which caused a time of addiction.  She will then tell of Gods provision and taking the bad and turning it too good. She now takes what she learned through these situations to be an amazing mother and sharing with those that are struggling with the same thing.
Last week you heard from Julie and how it all began. In todays episode you will hear about how she worked the ABC model in realizing your purpose. You will be inspired by her determination and knowledge learned. Share this episode with others that need to learn about hope and drive through set backs and victories.
Today we take a look back to Julie's story from our second podcast where she shared about learning to live again. Then in next week's episode we will hear about where she is now and how valuable her time at ransom was and how she used to use what she learned to reach her goals. Last week you met Lyndsey and she told her story of her life. In todays episode Lyndsey will share how she used what she learned through Ransom to reach out for her goals. She will share how she went from a person in addiction and without hope to someone that helps others navigate recovery. Today is going to be different. Each group we have a day called story day. This is where they share their stories with each other this helps understand that we are not alone.  We also have them do this so they can learn to not be ashamed of their stories but use them to help others. We think you will enjoy this episode remember to share this with your friends and rate us and let us know what you would like to hear.
In todays episode Matt gives you an update on the progress of past interviewees. He will talk about the progress of the past interviews and how they are doing now. Matt says he was very encouraged by looking back and we hope this episode encourages you as well. Looking back sure makes us realize our mission of helping others transform their lives through work.
Last episode we talked with Angela on her first day as Ransom's Director of Education. In this episode we sit down and talk about her first 6 months and what she has learned and things that surprised her. You will enjoy her take on ministry and leading in a organization where she can take her experiences and help transform lives. Angela has become a vital part of what is done through Ransom on a daily bases.
Today you will meet Angela our director of Education. Angela is a graduate of Ransom Reprogram and over the last three years has grown and become an amazing woman of God. She came on staff here last year and has taken Ransom Reprogram to another level. You will see the transformation through her story and through her life. We are so blessed to have her on this journey with us. We know you will be encouraged
Today we talk with Ralph about his journey from Florida and how an addiction brought him to Mobile Alabama and eventually to Ransom Ministries. He will talk about his life growing up, a successful truck driving career to a life of addiction. Then to a life of forgiveness and redemption. We think you will see how his surrender played an important role in his healing.
In today's episode Matt will talk about what an exciting time it is in the history of Ransom Ministries. He will talk about the plans for the future and what that means for those we serve. He will also talk about how to get involved.
This episode Matt will share about his experience of going Homeless on purpose. You will hear about the time he spent and how it changed the way he served and how it changed his life forever. We dont really know what someone is struggling with until we really get to know the struggle. This episode really makes you think about how we can serve just by getting to know someone. Our hope is you will look at others differently through listening to this experience.
Today we talk about the principles we at Ransom Ministries follow when serving others. In the book that Matt wrote "Life outside the boat" he talks about serving others well. It has been learned over the 11 years of serving those most people have given up on. Each day is a learning experience and we know we still have much to learn. Today we are joined by Leevester he will share about growing up in Mobile, prison time, wrong choices and better choices. He will talk about depression, anger and a host of other things that kept him going down the wrong path. Today he is learning to live one day at a time and trusting the Lord with his life and decisions. We have seen Leevester go through many hard times even while he has been here at Ransom. We have seen him learn to navigate these times in a mature and victorious way. Join as He shares his journey.

Today we talk with teammate Kyle. He has been here and we have seen such growth. Not just in work but his the way he handles hard things in his life. Kyle as of this episode has moved on to a B job and we are sure he will do great. Many of us have had situations make us mad at God and blame Him. Today we talk about how to overcome these.
Today we talk with one of our most committed volunteers. We talk about growing up, marriage, children, divorce, depression and volunteering. You will see what we all see in Sandra and how much a blessing she is to us and those we serve.
Today we talk with Amanda who had many people let her down. She did not believe God was real or even cared but then she asked Him for help and boy did He come through. We have seen Amanda go from not believing she had a purpose or the ability to succeed. To a person with growing confidence and a natural leader. We are so proud of Amanda and we know you will be also after hearing her story.
