In this episode of Bandwagon Nerds, the Nerds return to discuss the penultimate Episode of Peacemaker Season 2. This was a relatively short Episode, but boy howdy, did it pack all sorts of action, humor, shocks, and emotion into the little time they had. At the end of the day, Chris seems like a broken man, setting the stage for what should be an amazing and wild season finale. An extended trip to the Trailer Park explores the question of Who Killed the Montreal Expos? But we also explore another zombie apocalypse movie (We Bury the Dead), the almost guaranteed-to-be-controversial The Carpenter's Son, and an upcoming documentary about the one and only, Martin Scorsese. The Simpsons 2 is coming, but even the hardcore fans seem less than enthused. Speaking of being less than enthused, Microsoft alienated many Xbox owners by increasing the price of Game Pass Ultimate. On the other hand, EA stockholders must be thrilled as the company was sold for a staggering $55 billion! The Big Five Project returns and, with it, we begin to draw ever closer to the birth of the Attitude Era. Things start to take shape here at the 1996 edition of the Royal Rumble. On this January night in Fresno, CA, we saw Goldust emerge as a force to be reckoned with as he dethroned Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental Championship. The Smoking Guns overcame the distraction of Sunny to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship. The Rumble match itself would see the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, become only the second man to win back-to-back Rumbles, overcoming 29 other men, including his best friend Diesel, to punch his ticket to the Main Event of WrestleMania XII. He would end up facing Bret "The Hitman" Hart there, as the WWF Championship match between The Hitman and The Undertaker ended in a no-contest. All in all, it is a good, but not great, event. Despite that, the event also saw someone who would turn into a stone-cold giant in the industry make his Big Five debut. It was a massive week in the world of UAPs. So enormous, in fact, that the decision was made to put out a new Episode of Unidentified History to try and stay on top of everything that went down. A monumental UAP Hearing took place this past week. Five witnesses testified to incredible events they observed, tracked, discussed, or investigated. We heard amazing stories about glowing red rectangles the size of a football field, massive black triangular craft hovering overhead, a formation of tic-tacs racing away from the USS Jackson, UFO sightings in the Soviet Union, and so much more. But, more importantly, several whistleblowers testified to the retaliation and repercussions they have faced for their decision to come forward. With the theme of the hearing being to provide greater protection for national security whistleblowers, the question of whether anything can really be done has to be asked. But then, Representative Eric Burlison showed a video that has the whole world talking. Did a UFO really deflect one of our Hellfire missiles, or was this just a video of something with a much more earthly explanation? The next day, we got an update on our friend, 3i/atlas. This supposed comet continues to do things comets are not supposed to, and this time out, it has changed color and shape. Is it time to panic yet? And then, to top it all off, NASA announced that they very well might have found signs of ancient microbial life....on Mars! Yes, you heard that right. NASA has pretty much confirmed life on another planet! Dave, Tunney, and, making his Unidentified History debut, Rob break all this down for you. In the second half of the show, the guys do a deep dive into another fascinating UAP event. The 1946 Ghost Rocket sightings captivated and terrorized much of Scandinavia. Over 2,000 of these ghost rocket sightings were made during 1946. Some of them were seen crashing into lakes, with no debris ever being found. Were these all just misidentified meteors? Were they possibly the USSR testing captured Nazi weaponry in the months after WWII? Was it just mass hysteria from citizens of a continent that had already endured the horrors of the most destructive war in world history? Or was there a more unidentified and anomalous explanation for these events? In Part 5 of our recap and review of the final season of Game of Thrones, we finally run into some of the issues that Dave has heard about for many years. The wheels have not fallen off completely...but there is a very big alignment problem going on here. Episode 4 of Season 8, entitled The Last of the Starks, dealt with the aftermath of the ultimate battle between the forces of light and dark. The Night King and his army have been defeated, leaving just the humans to deal with all their frailty, issues, and emotions. In this Episode, no one can keep a secret, people make very poor decisions, alliances are shifting, betrayal looms on the horizon, dragons are ambushed, and a shocking death seems to have set everyone on the bloodiest path possible. The struggle for the Iron Throne, between Jon Snow, Daenerys, and Cersei seems more inevitable than ever. Jon wants to avoid this but foolishly tells his siblings about his rightful claim to the throne, which fuels Sansa's bitterness towards Daenerys and...well you know. Meanwhile, Jamie Lannister hooks up with Brienne, then ditches her for his sister in a heartbreaking moment of stupidity. Wrapped around all of this is the death of a dragon and the sinking feeling that Daenerys's sanity is fraying, especially after she witnesses the stunning death of Missandei.
