Your Philadelphia 76ers are up 2-0 on the Brooklyn Nets in their first round playoff matchup after a 96-84 win at the crib in South Philadelphia!
Sixers fans were treated to the Tyrese Maxey Playoff Experience as he dropped in 33 points. After the hot shooting in game one, things went a little cold in game two. It looked a little weary as the Sixers were down five at the half, but a 20-5 run to start the second half erased that. Now, the Sixers travel to the Barclays Center for games three and four later this week. Sean Kennedy joins Adio Royster on the podcast to discuss the happenings of game two as well as what the Sixers can learn (if anything) from the Nets as they likely will face the Boston Celtics in round two.

The coach. The guru. The shot god -- or at least the one whose name Philadelphia 76ers fans know the most. Drew Hanlen, CEO of PureSweat joins David Early for a special Out of Site interview.
David asks Drew what he thinks of watching two clients (Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey) square off. What's next for Joel and the preparation for the upcoming season at this stage of the off-season. A healthy Nikola Jokic debate also ensues. Now that Drew is working with Maxey, what can Sixers fans expect from the young up and comer going into this season. With both Embiid and Maxey on Drew's roster, what can both learn from each other as they train together as well as what they can learn from guys like Jokic and Tyrese Haliburton? Of course, the most important questions are asked: what does Drew think of the James Harden stalemate, and also ... what was the atmosphere at Joel's wedding!
All of that and more on today's podcast.

The Philadelphia 76ers vs. James Harden continues!
Per reporting from Tom West, the NBA launched an investigation into what led Harden to call Daryl Morey a liar while entertaining a group of fans in China. There has been much speculation as far as what kind of "deal" Harden and Morey made last off-season that would lead Harden to say such things about his BFF. It could also be as simple as Harden being upset that Morey did not trade him to his only choice of destination -- the Los Angeles Clippers. Adio Royster and David Early discuss this new aspect of this ongoing saga.
After the break, they try to gain a sense of what locker room chemistry would look like with Harden in tow. Jackson Frank posted an SB Nation Poll and 36% of respondents believe there would NOT be a Harden trade before the season begins on October 28th against the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin. Right now, Joel Embiid is happy to be a Sixer -- which is what ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne is reporting. However, comments made by newly signed guard Patrick Beverly could pose another dynamic that could upset the team chemistry and locker room atmosphere.

It is never normal when it is an off-season for the Philadelphia 76ers.
This year's disgruntled Sixers player is James Harden -- who was traded for another disgruntled Sixers player in Ben Simmons. At an event in China, Harden spoke to a group of people where he called General Manager Daryl Morey a "liar" and that he will "never play for an organization that he is a part of."
What happened to a relationship that -- up until this past Saturday -- was the talk of the league when Harden was in Houston? Now that he has soured on Morey, what do the Sixers do with training camp right around the corner? They can't trade Harden to his preferred destination (the Los Angeles Clippers). (They could, but the return will be even less than what the Clippers were offering before -- which wasn't much.) They can't possibly think having Harden on the roster to start the season is a good idea. At the very least, something has to get worked out by mid/late October.
Adio Royster and David Early give their thoughts on what happened, how we got here, and what the Sixers organization does now.

Adio Royster and David Early go on vacation for two weeks, and all hell breaks loose in the Philadelphia 76ers landscape. Fans are down on the Sixers off-season. A recent SB Nation Reacts poll started by Jackson Frank of Liberty Ballers suggests that fans are grading this off-season kind of harshly. (The 51% percent of you that graded "D" or "F", anyways.) A good amount are grading as incompletes depending on the trade status of Damian Lillard or James Harden.
Speaking of which, there have been updates for both players!
Damian Lillard wants out of Portland (to Miami only), and he and his agent get slapped down by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. James Harden still wants to be traded, but the one team he wants to go to isn't playing nice when it comes to shelling out proper pieces (or even pieces that keep the Sixers contending).
How is the rest of this off-season going to go with training camp right around the corner?
Adio and David discuss that and more (such as Adio's thoughts on the re-release of the Philadelphia Eagles Kelly Green jerseys).

NBA free agency began last week, and the Philadelphia 76ers were all over the wires. After James Harden opted in to his $36 million player option, he requested to be traded, and that would have been the first domino in the Sixers off-season -- or so we thought. One Fourth of July white party with Michael Rubin later, and Harden may have mended some fences (with players, not necessarily front office members -- as reported by ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne). Is it a higher possibility that Harden returns? Maybe, but the clock is definitely ticking on how quickly this move SHOULD be done. The Sixers lost some free agents (Georges Niang, Shake Milton, and Jaden McDaniels), and the cupboard has to be refilled somehow. (This was recorded before the signing of Mo Bamba as reported by Woj.)
Regardless, Adio Royster and David Early catch you up on what has happened so far for the Sixers in free agency plus talk about how a Damian Lillard trade could have been done (according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst) if Tyrese Maxey was included in the deal. Who knows how much truth there is to that, honestly, because you sometimes have to take those reports with a giant salt shaker.
Speaking of ESPN, Adio and David give their two cents on the latest round of ESPN layoffs that happened last week and where they feel certain personalities should go. (If we're being honest ... some of them might be better away from ESPN.)

Like many proud fathers out there, Torrel Harris (father of Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris) simply wants to see his son succeed. (This is also because he gets a nice chunk of commission as Tobias's agent.) Nevertheless, Torrel Harris has been speaking out in favor of his son getting a better role in the Sixers offense. He calls Tobias an "assassin", and statistics show that ... sometimes. It's just not as consistent as the team needs it to be. Part of it could be the role Tobias is in. Part of it could be great teammate, wrong system. Whatever the case may be, Torrel Harris wants more from incoming head coach Nick Nurse. Adio Royster and David Early talk about what that role could possibly be and if it's something that even makes sense given the fact the team still has other off-season items to think about (a la James Harden).
After the break, the Sixers scooped up a few interesting prospects via undrafted free agents, and some thoughts on what the Sixers might be able to do with any mid-level exceptions if Harden stays or goes.

The first off-season domino has fallen. The Washington Wizards traded All-Star guard/forward Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns for Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, several second round picks and pick swaps. Adio Royster and David Early begin the podcast with the ripple effects of that trade and how they relate to the Philadelphia 76ers. With Beal off the market, is it more likely to see James Harden return to the Sixers after flirting with the Houston Rockets for weeks and months? If there is a Tobias Harris trade (as many suspect), what will be the return for his expiring contract? After the break, Adio and David speak a little on the NBA Draft and how trades involving the Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers could also cause roadblocks in pathways for the Sixers to not just acquire a superstar but win the Eastern Conference in 2023-2024.

The Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff is getting poached once again. This time it's by a division rival -- the Boston Celtics. Shams Charania reported that the Celtics will be getting Sixers assistant coach Sam Cassell to help Joe Mazzoula on his sidelines for next season. Adio and David talk about the implications of that news as well as other reporting and rumors that hint that new coach Nick Nurse may be getting an old running buddy of his from Toronto -- Mr. Fred VanVleet -- as a possible alternative if James Harden were not resigned by the Sixers.
After the break, the tandem break down what they've thought of the NBA Finals, so far, and look at the performance of one Jimmy Butler -- who may have ascended to the top of the list of "biggest NBA free agent blunders".

The Philadelphia 76ers continue the trend of hiring head coaches with names based in the medical field. First, they tried a "Doc" with Glenn Rivers, and now, the next head coach is a Nurse. (That is confirmed. Last week, it was more of a question, but it's official, now.) Nick Nurse is the new head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. Nurse brings his title from the Toronto Raptors -- something that brings Sixers PTSD to the surface. He is an alleged X's and O's guy, and more importantly, he is President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey's "first guy". Morey can now build a team around his hand picked coach. Are the Sixers in better, worse or kinda level shape? Adio Royster and David Early discuss that as well as give a preview of the NBA Finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat which begins tomorrow on ABC/YouTube.

The Philadelphia 76ers have begun one of two major decisions for this off-season: the search for a new head coach. Right now, former Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is the first of a targeted list of candidates. What do we think of Nick Nurse, Sixers fans? Adio Royster and David Early discuss the pros and cons of hiring Nurse in part one as well as the James Harden decision that also looms over this franchise's off-season. In part two, they debate over a CBS Sports article written by Sam Quinn that outlines four potential paths the Sixers could take in this off-season. Is one better than the other? Is there a "perfect path"?

Here we are, again, Philadelphia 76ers fans.
Another year. Another failed playoff run.
We were told this team was different. We were told this team was ready for the moment. The Sixers were going to do all of it "for the love of Philly", but once again, for the fourth time in six appearances, the Sixers lost in the second round to the Boston Celtics.
Adio Royster and David Early go over what went wrong in the series finale on Sunday night. There is a lot of blame to go around, so who gets it?
After the game seven therapy session, it's (sadly) time to talk about another Sixers off-season -- one with several questions regarding the head coach and James Harden. Will both be back? One or the other? Neither?
We'll all find out, together, won't we?

It is all good in the Philadelphia 76ers neighborhood!
Joel Embiid was named the MVP for the 2022-2023 season (in an unexpected runaway), and the Sixers stole game one of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series against the Boston Celtics 119-115. James Harden pulled a magnificent performance out of his bag to the tune of 45 points including the dagger three with 8.4 seconds left.
Embiid was named the MVP getting 73 of the first place votes (15 for Nikola Jokic; 12 for Giannis Antetokounmpo) to get his first MVP trophy after being the runner up for the last two seasons. Vindication! The Process worked. Adio and David talk about that as well as thoughts about game one looking ahead to game two on Wednesday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers have dispatched of the Brooklyn Nets in (not so) dramatic fashion sweeping them after their 96-88 victory in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon.
The big news going into round two (likely) against the Boston Celtics is the same as it usually is this time of year: the health of one Joel Hans Embiid. We're in the torture chamber, again, Sixers fans. Embiid has an LCL sprain in his knee which is a one to two week recovery, so his availability against the Celtics is looking doubtful for game one on Saturday (if the Celtics close out Atlanta tomorrow night).
All is not doom for the Sixers, however. Tyrese Maxey played like he's absolutely ready for this moment. Tobias Harris has looked good (in round one, anyway). Is James Harden ever going to look like the Harden that was getting All-NBA consideration just a few months ago? Those are the questions headed into round two as we break it down early in the week before any round two games are even scheduled.
Your hosts Adio Royster and David Early are just getting you mentally prepared, folks!

The Philadelphia 76ers have entered the final week (or so) of the season, and things did not get off to the best start after losing to the Milwaukee Bucks last night at the Fiserv Forum 117-104.
Joel Embiid continues to try and make his case for MVP, but Giannis Antetokounmpo was not having any of the Sixers gaining ground putting up 33 points and 14 rebounds. Now, the Sixers return home to the Wells Fargo Center to face the second of two-straight games against the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference -- the Boston Celtics.
Adio Royster and David Early go over what went wrong in the Bucks loss last night and preview a Celtics matchup that might be vital for the Sixers (loosely) from a health and load management persepective not to mention further MVP candidacy.

It has been another weird seven days for Philadelphia 76ers Nation.
The Sixers had been winners of 20 of their last 24 games, climbing the Eastern Conference, and solidifying their position as a top-four team in the East. They looked like a true force to be reckoned with, and while they still do on any given night, losses to the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks made them look tired.
Thankfully, the NBA All-Star Break is approaching. Joel Embiid and James Harden were not named All-Star starters. Embiid was named as a reserve, but is it possible that our dynamic duo could use a rest. That will be discussed by Adio Royster and David Early on this episode of “Out of Site”.
Speaking of dynamic duos, there is a new pair in Dallas as the Brooklyn Nets traded All-Star guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and draft picks. How does this trade make the Brooklyn Nets look both now and when Kevin Durant returns from injury. The Nets are currently fourth in the Eastern Conference. While they are still formidable with Durant and a good supporting cast (cast members who will be available on most nights unlike Kyrie), how much of a threat do they pose?
All that plus some bet ideas on Super Bowl 57 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs.
#GoBirds!
Peace, love and Sixers!

Emergency pod, Sixers beat Nuggets!
Joel Embiid dominates Nikola Jokic.
Rivalry week is going pretty well in Philly as Embiid just goes absolutely ballistic, willing his team back from a 15 point deficit in a bit home win. James Harden played a masterfully efficient 17 point 13 dimes 0 turnover game. P.J. Tucker earned all his salary today, playing his best game as a Sixer despite almost nothing to show for it in the box score. Tobias Harris must've had some amazing orange slices at the half as he came out the break cooking and finished with a clutch three and steal on Joker. Georges Niang and Shake Milton had a little scrum. The MVP debate has to see a bit of a swing now. Greg argues Jokic should give one of his trophies to Joel. Is it time to give Doc Rivers his praises or nah?
Then, we talk about our NFL gut feelings. Where do the Eagles stack up with this Final Four?

if ben Simmons could shoot 40% from three we win the championship yes even over Kawhi and lebron because at that point hes basically as good as them and they dont have Joel and tobias and that darn good underrated josh Richardson
Gents, you seemed to be mailing it in this week. Detroit swept the Raptors in their season series this year, 3-0. Wouldn't that be an ideal #2 v. #7 for the Sixers best interests? Also, the Magic are a much more concerning 1st Rd opponent than were painted by you both. Did you miss the beatdown they put on us in Orlando last week? Let's tighten things up over there, yes?
