Heavy Head Season Three Trailer.    Excited & proud to announce the return of Heavy Head Podcast for its third & final season beginning New Years Day 2023.    Instead of focusing on individual mental health conditions, this last season we will attempt to answer two big questions. Where does stigma come from & how has our perception of what constitutes a mental illness changed over time?   To answer this question, we will look at six historical events in my home country of the United States where people were discriminated against, persecuted, or killed for the way they looked, felt, or behaved.    EP 1: “Our First American Kin.” (Jan 1) The white, European colonization of America & resulting genocide of the indigenous populations that lived here.   EP 2: “Witchcraft In The Whispers.” (Feb 1) The Salem Witch Trails of 1692.    EP 3: “A Fruit For The Crows To Pluck.” (March 1) The lynching of African Americans in 19th & 20th centuries.   EP 4: “If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will be Next.” (April 1) The forced internment of Japanese Americans during WWII.    EP 5: “Are They Supposed To Be As Sick As You And Me?” (May 1) The medical experimentations on institutionalized persons of the mid 20th century.    EP 6: “Lovers In A Dangerous Time.” (June 1) The story of MLB’s first openly gay player, Glenn Burke & the H.I.V/A.I.D.S crisis of the 80’s/90’s.    Catch up on the first two seasons now.    The award-winning Heavy Head Podcast returns for its farewell season beginning Sunday January 1, 2023.
