As Christians and members of the household of God, the way that we communicate with God, through prayer, matters. In Matthew 6 Jesus teaches about right and wrong motivation for prayer, the manner in which we should pray, and gives us a model of prayer to follow.
Doing the right things for the wrong reasons is wrong. The secret life of Christians is to be marked by practiced righteousness, proper motive, and precious reward.
Jesus is our refuge and joy in life, death, and beyond.
Who are my enemies? Why must I love them? What is that to look like?
The hardest thing in the world is to die to self; and yet, this is exactly what Jesus calls us to do, died and rose to make possible, and sent the Spirit to empower.
Only the truth of Jesus can set us free to live as people of truth.
Before we can have a proper understanding of what the Bible says about divorce, we must first understand what it says about marriage. Jesus gives us both in Matthew 5 and Matthew 19 as builds his teaching on divorce on top of a foundational understanding of biblical marriage and the created order.
Sexual sin is always an issue of the heart.
As Christians we much pay attention to our anger, prioritize reconciliation, and pursue reconciliation urgently.
Don’t misunderstand the gospel. We’re to take Scripture seriously as Christians and it matters how we live. The difference between “legalism” and gospel obedience is a heart of righteousness.
Correctly understanding who you are, helps you to correctly understand what you’re for. You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Stay salty and shine.
Jesus began His ministry with a proclamation: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” In the Beatitudes, He details both the character that Christians, citizens of this Kingdom, should embody, along with the corresponding blessings they are promised.
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand! Receiving the message, join the mission, behold the miracles.
Jesus is the truer and better Israel who, like Israel, was led into the wilderness and faced adversity, and yet trusted and did not test God, but instead, stayed the course in whole-hearted devotion. He perfectly resisted temptation on our behalf.
Believe and be saved, be baptized, and look forward with certainty to the day when you too will be raised to eternal life.
Repent and trust in King Jesus—His kingdom is coming.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the hope of Israel and therefore, you are to receive Him.
Worship Jesus, your Shepherd King.
Jesus is Savior and we’re to trust in Him for salvation, and also moment-by-moment.
The waiting is over, and yet it’s not yet over, but it will one day be fully and finally over.
