We can look at people online, compare their highlight reel to our reality and think that they have it all leading to our unhappiness. Does our value really correlate to the amount of money in our bank account, our grades, our likes, our outfit, our number of followers and how many friends we have? New job, new car, new house, new watch, new handbag etc. We define our value based on our achievements and ability to meet certain "milestones" but, is that really how we want to evaluate our life? We look into how if we turn away from these superficial achievements we are left with a better, happier and healthier life where we can appreciate all our wins, no matter how big or small and, not let them be defined by society.

Continuing with the conversation that having a select few friends is okay, you don't need to be in a group to be socially acceptable. it is perfectly fine to have just a few close friends - detailing what I am doing for my 21st *cough* 22nd birthday and how I am totally okay with moving on from having big parties, how exhausting and stressful hosting parties can be and how "the more the merrier" is not always the case.
Losing, growing apart and having a very small circle of friends. Losing your tribe is a grievous process, moving away and growing apart from people is tough, waking up and realising you don't have loads of friends to socialise with is quite sad. We talk about the reassuring fact that is - we're not alone in feeling lonely, this is the work of the pandemic and we will find our tribe and be happy - this feeling is temporary.

Megan Knight is a 21 year old Psychology student at NTU with Generalised Anxiety, Anorexia, Depression & is in the process of being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Despite having all these diagnoses under her belt, Megan still didn't feel like she'd qualify for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA). Join us as we talk about her struggles in going out and actively seeking help as someone who is mentally ill, people's common misconceptions of mental health and the truths behind the difficulties of being at university with a mental illness.  Megan Knight is a fantastic advocate for mental health and illness, hosting her own page "The Courage Concept" where she shares her mental health journey in the most honest and thought-provoking way. Posting educational content, debunking myths and highlighting so many truths behind the lens of someone who is mentally ill.
