Description

At Williamsburg Baptist Church we are discovering what it means to be "a different kind of Baptist." We are committed to historic, Baptist principles like freedom of conscience, but we also seek to be an open-minded and inclusive community that values learning, spirituality, and social justice. We invite you to join us on the journey, and hope you will enjoy these podcast recordings of sermons from worship, as well as other recorded programs from the life of our church.

“Being a gay Christian is a very difficult thing to be. You’re either too gay for the Christians, or too Christian for the gays. And society made you pick: You can either be gay, or you can be Christian. And I don’t fit in this crowd, but I don’t fit in with that crowd either.” (Michael D. Jones)   WBC Stories is a new, periodic series we are launching via Youtube and our podcast, in which we'll invite members and friends of our church to share stories from their journey of faith. One of the challenges of being church together is getting to know one another in deep, meaningful ways—and the pandemic has made that harder than ever! By listening in, you'll get to know Michael in a deeper way, with the hope that in turn you might feel inspired to share some of your story, too. We also believe it’s important to share stories like these to point to God’s presence in our lives all along the way. Thanks so much to Michael for his willingness to share, and thank you for taking time to listen in!
