Description

Welcome to the show that breaks down all our favorite (and not so favorite) horror films!

My name is Jarred White and if I were ever in a horror movie, you bet I'd be the first one to go. Despite this sad fact, my love of the genre motivated me to discuss some of my old favorites and explore films that I have yet to have the pleasure of enjoying. So join me won't you? Let us boldly wander through this often overlooked and tragically underappreciated genre together. If you come with me, you won't have to worry about your safety because the white guy always dies first.

For the first book that I have ever covered on the podcast, I felt that Ling Ma's novel would be the perfect novel to pick apart due to it's relevance to current world affairs and with regard to the workaholic mentality that Americans maintain even through a pandemic! Will truth be stranger than fiction or is our reality preferable to the one in this book? Let's find out!
For the first episode of the new year, I thought that we should take a somber look into what will most likely be the oldest film that I will ever examine on this show. While not perfect, this movie was far better than I expected it to be. A visual delight that presents a fascinating narrative puzzle, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari has stood the test of time and remains a truly wonderful experience.Follow me on Twitter to get updates about the show or to contact me: https://twitter.com/JarredWhite7Intro music: Zombies Ate My Neighbors OC ReMix by Mike Norvak, Fernito Eighties Ate My Zombies (#4051)Outro music: OC ReMix #945 Metal Gear Solid 2 'Big Shell West Bristol' [Can't Say Good Bye...] by BenCousins
Surprise! I couldn't stay away from this trainwreck of a narrative and had to go in for another exploration into the trash heap. Will this be a shining gem among a sea of turds or just another nasty chunk? Let's find out in this special extra episode. The music used for the intro is "Super Mario RPG ReMix by Nutritious Weapons of Mass Production [Weapons Factory]" and the outro is "Super Mario RPG ReMix by DaMonz Floor Is Lava [Barrel Volcano]."
Never played this one before but I've been hearing hype for years and years about what a stunning achievement, what a towering powerhouse of narrative brilliance it is. So I played through and...well, found quite a few things worth talking about. Looking around at all the anti-mask propaganda going around these days, we really can't call any movie infection "unrealistic" anymore huh? Very sad when a horror movie so deeply parallels real life. They came, they saw, they shot us with a popcorn gun that cost $7000 to make. This is probably one of my top 3 favorite horror movies of all time and I couldn't help myself from pouring over every delicious moment. I probably went a bit overboard here, but life's too short to hold back. So behold! An overly long episode about my unabashed love for a pile of creative trash. What a ride.
For the first official episode of the show, I decided to go back to the first zombie movie ever made. Is it a bucket of crap or is there something special here?... Let's find out! Follow me on Twitter to get updates about the show or to contact me: https://twitter.com/JarredWhite7
This introduction episode will give you an idea of who I am, what sort of media I will be discussing in the show, and pondering the nuances of what exactly is "horror."
