The Lord said the problem today lies more inside the church than outside. Walter's message explains what He means.
In the first two messages of this New Year series, I challenged you to examine and refocus your priorities on God (First Love) and your own life (First Watch). This week we examine the first "external" priority Jesus demonstrated and then gave (commanded) His disciples.
This message turns the lens on our own lives to allow the Holy Spirit to shine on those areas out of synch with how Jesus taught His disciples to live.
A Message of Encouragement, Hope, and Challenge for the new year
From the Scripture, we know the Holy Spirit is fully God and indwells all true Christians from the point of our salvation. We also know indwelling is not "filling". This message continues the one from last week to examine what the Bible says about "fillings".
This is the first message in Walter's new series, Revangelizing™️ His Church - A Wake-up Call for Christians

Memorizing God's Word
Key Bible Verse: "but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 15:57
Key Bible Verses: "Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the LORD your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory." Deuteronomy 20: 3-4
Key bible Verses: "The righteous person will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courtyards of our God. They will still yield fruit in advanced age; They will be full of sap and very green, to declare that the LORD is just; He is my rock, and there is no malice in Him." Psalm 92: 12-15
Key Verse: “For this people's heart has grown callous; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.'” Matthew 13: 15
Key Verses: "Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”Matthew 11: 28-30
Key Bible Verse: "Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you." Isaiah 46:4
We live in a world in which sooo many people are heavily burdened. God did not intend for His people to live that way. This week we examine three sources of burdens and the solutions people come up with to try to remove them that often make things worse. We begin to look at God's answers and will finish that study next week.
Key Bible Verse: "Therefore, remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and I will remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent." Revelation 2: 5
