Description
A podcast for and about drummers of note and of poise. For the discerning dork, and the novice with one foot tentatively on the riser. Either I’ll pull back the veil or bore you to tears. Either way, I hope to easily find and hold fast the connective tissue that makes us all keep keeping time.

This is a long one, guys. Greg and I go way back. We toured together in the late 90's, and I have seen him play countless times. He's a great drummer, a heavy hitter and it doesn't shock me that Bill Stevenson is a huge influence. He came out of the woodwork after I was hospitalized for ulcerative colitis. He suffers from it as well, and it was so nice to reconnect with him and to have someone in my orbit that really understood what I was going through. Anyway, there's a lot of discussion about UC on this episode. I hope you enjoy, and come away demystified about this rotten disease.
SFLI (Sorry For the Long Intro), but this is the first eppy back after a long break, reasons explained in the long intro. I was delighted to have Alan Cage as my guest, as he's one of my favorites and I have really ripped him off. Either way, it feels good to get back on the horse, or hog, or hoss, whatever. In memory of Brendan "Stu" Maguire-- Big Love.
Seasoned session and touring musician/producer Dave Mattacks and I have a delightful conversation! In the daytime!
Road dog, tour manager for Dinosaur Jr., drummer and all around funny weirdo, John Moloney breaks bread with me. We talk about Sunburned's fantastic new record "Pick a Day to Die", alcohol zombies, bartending in Boston, and muse over why the upstairs rooms of your house are no place for a drum set. Enjoy!
Alex and I talk volumes about fatherhood, touring, running a studio, keeping an even keel, and the drumsticks we want to marry.
Mark and I bandy about, talk about being nice in the context of a band with a deliberate not nice reputation. He's an early inspiration for me, and I was very happy to talk to him.
I talk to my old friend Matt Kelly, drummer of the Dropkick Murphys. We talk fatherhood, seltz, cheat beats, Niko v. Clive, and basically make merry.
