Ram Dass is among the world’s most influential spiritual teachers and kicking off season two is an interview from India recorded with someone who had an amazing awakening experience meeting Ram Dass. Whilst staying at Amritapuri Ashram in Kerala, the home of spiritual leader and humanitarian Amma, I met a devotee named Madhava. In 1973 he met Ram Dass and experienced a one to one awakening process and he recounts what happened in this interview.Ram Dass, who died in 2019, famously experimented with psychedelics in the 1960s whilst being a psychologist at Harvard and later Stanford universities. He wrote many best-selling spiritual books based upon his experiences travelling India and meeting his guru Neem Karoli Baba.In his book about living the Bhagavad Gita titled ‘Paths To God’, Ram Dass wrote about the ‘process’ which Madova experienced for himself.
Here is the first in a new series of podcasts inviting you to deepen your connection with trees and their energy.  We start with the Alder tree and journey into its magical qualities of protection, affinity with the element of water and gateway to the realm of the Fae. The episode concludes with a 10-minute guided meditation recorded in the rain sitting under a mature Alder tree beside Hedsor Water on the River Thames near Cookham.
How do you really feel about your mother? Was she a loving role model? Is she emotionally present? Did she guide and support you emotionally as you grew up in the family home? Like it or not, our parents wound us and give us conditioning and issues to work through. For most people, their mother is the strongest influence during the early years of life and likely to have been the source of the most conditioning. Often it is the mother’s presence that sets the tone of the household. To bring awareness into this difficult subject I invited my life partner Christine Robinson to have a conversation about recognising our mother wounds. She is a Heart-Centred Life Coach working mainly with women which allows her to have a deep understanding of this area of life. She also experienced a difficult childhood and relationship with her own mother which she is able to reference during this frank and open conversation. During the podcast Christine recommended a helpful book on this subject:  The Emotionally Absent Mother: How to recognise and heal the invisible effects of childhood emotional neglect. It’s author is Jasmin Lee Cori You can connect with Christine on Instagram @christinerobinsoncoaching
My personal journey into exploring my father wounds brought me into contact with the unique talent that is Scott Grace, author of Mindful Masculinity: A Book for Men and the Women Who Love Them.  Scott Grace is a much sought-after singer, speaker, workshop leader, life coach and stand-up comedian (who used to open for Robin Williams and Dana Carvey).  He rose to prominence opening for rock star authors and personal growth celebrities such as Deepak Chopra, Louise Hay, Ram Dass and Byron Katie.  Scott’s book tackles overcoming the innate driving desire to live up to dad’s or one’s own expectations, the addiction to not feeling, transforming the inner critic, becoming aware of the fear of fear, transcending the compulsion to fix things for a romantic partner, grieving lost ideals and painful experiences, releasing the hold the ego has over heart, letting go of anger and rage self-or-other-inflicted, and much more. Our 45-minute or so conversation covers many things including the nature of masculine love, how we over compensate, grief and shame in relationships and parenting offspring and ourselves. He’s probably the most entertaining guest I have had yet on the podcast and our chat also includes a song written to and from his mother and a brilliant improvised poem. To hear the song again please use this link:  Mother and Son by Scott Grace During the interview Scott referenced a poem by Kahlil Gibran titled ‘On Children’ which you can read in full here: https://poets.org/poem/children-1 To connect with Scott and his work please visit his website here: https://www.scottsongs.com/ On YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/@scottgrace You can find him on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/scottkgrace/
Authors and Tantric Practice Teachers Dr Elsbeth Meuth and Freddy Zental Weaver have helped thousands of couples and singles create lasting intimacy and fulfilment in their life and relationships. So, I invited them to join me for a discussion about sexual energy and sexual enlightenment. We take a whole new look at the energy created during intimacy and ways to use it to open consciousness. This includes looking at the importance of ‘conscious breath’ in this context - there is a short breath-work session in the podcast. Elsbeth and Freddy run TantraNova and as well as being business partners are husband and wife residing in Chicago. Author and researcher Dr Dawson Church recently published a ground-breaking book about meditation called 'Bliss Brain'  making him the ideal guest to talk about meditation. We launched in the big question from the start. Is meditation a spiritual practice or simply brain training? Dawson had much to say in answering this core question. We then talked about what happens to the brain during meditation and Dawson outlined his unique stack of seven mind and body techniques found in his popular 'EcoMeditation' guided practice. Here are the links talked about during the podcast: https://eftuniverse.com/ecomeditation/ for the EcoMeditation recordings https://eftuniverse.com/free-gift-from-dawson/ for the immune system version.
The magical and somewhat mysterious Yew tree is known to help support us through the grieving journey. Simon talks about this healing aspect of Yew and its ancient connection to the creation cycle.  Yew is also synonymous with Winter Solstice as it acts a a still-point in the forest, very much like the celestial pause the sun appears to make around the shortest day of the year. Recorded live in ancient woodland for authenticity, meaning it includes all the natural and unnatural sounds found in the landscape.
Simon explains why Autumn is the traditional time of the year to connect to your ancestors and why this is a helpful practice. Created to coincide with outdoor ceremonies, this episode takes you on a journey to your internal ancestral land. It includes practical tools and a guided meditation explaining how to use your navel to make a profound ancestral connection. The intention is for listeners to build it into a practice of creating an altar space for ancestors and using it to ask for wisdom and guidance. This is particularly helpful when going through the grieving process. More about ancestral connection and healing can be found at anamcaraenergyhealing.com
Gaia is the living consciousness of planet Earth and this meditation will help you develop a deep sense of your intrinsic Gaia-self. It will help you to create for yourself a heartfelt sense of Gaia and bring an honouring of the Earth's energy into your self-care practice. “Having a strong sense of Gaia as a part of your energy system is vital for both Grounding and Earthing your emotional charge. This special meditation will help you release anxiety and feeling depleted leaving you restored and rejuvenated”, Simon commented.
In the fifth episode in this Tree Meditation Series, Simon goes to Ladywell a sacred grove of trees beside an ancient well in West Oxfordshire. He tells us about a personal journey he made with Oak in 2020 when the world was seemingly falling apart and explains how its symbolic qualities of strength and endurance helped him to change his life. Meditation with Oak is recommended when you face a difficult decision or need support in making hard life choices. This episode was recorded on a windy day in mid May and the sound of the wind rushing through the ancient Oak tree is all part of the natural atmosphere Simon loves to create making this podcast.
The second episode in my Tree Meditation series is all about the essence of the Willow tree. Aligned with both water and the Moon, Willow helps us to see things in a new light and restore our emotional balance.  Recorded outside on the banks of the River Thames near Cookham, this journey with Willow features a brief synopsis of her qualities and how she helps us when we work with her Yin energy. Following the description of Willow there is a meditation approximately 10 mins long for you follow.  There is ambient sound from the river water, birdlife and distant background noise.
I am a VortexHealing practitioner and wanted to give people an insight into this powerful form of Devine energy healing, so rather than talking to myself I went to interview the person that inspired me, Simon Tandree of Embodied Stillness.  What follows is an insightful and fascinating chat about what you can expect when you come for a treatment. We also look behind the curtain as Simon explains what it's like for him channeling VortexHealing. I am sure you can appreciate it is a rare thing for a practitioner to be open about their own experience. Once you have listened the chances are you'll want to book a VortexHealing session for yourself. Treatments with me cost £55 for around two hours. Please email me at simon@anamcaraenergyhealing.com
Continuing the conversation with shamanic healer and practitioner Hayley Trezise, we talk about the core concept of The Circle of Reality and personal sovereignty. Hayley reveals more about the ongoing work she does on herself to enable her to be a practitioner.  We finish off discussing group work, where you can learn shamanic journeying and deepen your connection with the spirit world, five day retreats and her sacred movement classes. Latest information about her work is found on www.hayleytrezise.co.uk
Here is the final instalment of Kurt's modern-day pilgrimage along the 140-mile Pilgrims Way, recorded when I caught up with him just five miles from his destination: Canterbury Cathedral. After two weeks of walking the route daily he shares his reflections of the good, bad and spiritual moments he experienced. If you want to go on your own pilgrimage, Kurt highly recommends this website as a starting place for research: https://britishpilgrimage.org/portfolio/pilgrims-way-to-canterbury/ The 'Otford' detour can be found here: http://www.northdownsway.co.uk/ndw_otford_wrotham.html The many marvellous quotes by DT Suzuki can be found here: https://citatis.com/a23140/ And to find out more about Taoist philosophy, perhaps start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoist_philosophy
This is part 4 of the series on pilgrimage, following the 140-mile journey taken by Kurt Rowe from Winchester to Canterbury on the ancient Pilgrims Way. In this episode we reveal a reality bending experience that happened to both Kurt and Simon on the section of the Pilgrims Way near Maidstone in Kent.  There's a reference to aboriginal song-lines which are best explained by reading Bruce Chatwyn's classic book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Songlines We also talk about Schumann Resonance and you can read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schumann_resonances#:~:text=The%20Schumann%20resonances%20(SR)%20are,Earth's%20surface%20and%20the%20ionosphere.
Here's the continuation interview with Kurt on day two of his modern day pilgrimage on the 140-mile Pilgrims Way.  He talks about meeting people along the way, the lambs dotted on the landscape and a visit to a fairy tree. There are a couple of continuity bumps along the way and please allow the small amount of wind noise on the recording. A concluding episode will be recorded when he reaches his final destination - Canterbury.
Literally a rambling chat with Kurt as he walks 140 miles along the Pilgrims Way from Winchester to Canterbury. He was inspired to make this journey across Hampshire, Surrey and Kent by reading a chapter of Rupert Sheldrake's book Science and Spiritual Practices about Pilgrimage and Holy Places. Recorded on day one of the two-week journey, our conversation covers various aspects of going on a pilgrimage in the UK today including the health benefits of long-distance walking, the energetics of the landscape and how suffering can lead to spiritual realisation. Simon stayed over to record a follow-up episode on day 2, which will be published shortly. He plans to return to walk the last section into Canterbury and gather Kurt's reflections on his epic walk. Apologies for the wind noise during the first 5 minutes of the interview.
Here's a bonus episode detailing how to create affirmations using the Full Moon and your crystals using the work-flow from my workshop. I talk through energetic 'cleaning' of crystals using intention to prepare them. I then take you on a beautiful guided 10-minute meditation journey to the Moon and back to harness its power. Next, I explain how to use this new insight to write key words and phrases to incorporate into writing your affirmations.  For a guide to how to write affirmations please see my blog: https://www.anamcaraenergyhealing.com/post/making-powerful-affirmations-using-full-moon-energy The podcast goes to talk about how to energise your affirmations with crystals and then where to put them in your home so they stay in your consciousness and energy field to keep them working for you. There's also a video explaining the process you can watch here: https://youtu.be/Vh_PS_yJL9E
Back with the trees for this episode, covering the first Celtic festival of the year and then a journey into the properties and significance of the Silver Birch. Simon takes a twilight walk into his local grove of Silver Birch trees and connects with the feminine energy of these beautiful, slender trees. If you'd like to read more about the Imbolc festival and the silver birch, here's a great piece by one of Anam Cara Energy Healing's favourite authors Glennie Kindred: http://www.glenniekindred.co.uk/articles/wheeloftheyear.html#8 And here's a nice simple explanation of the Ogham Calendar: https://www.paganpens.co.uk/the-oghma-calendar Email Simon to book a tree energy walk: simon@anamcaraenergyhealing.com
