These next episodes are a little different. They are short episodes, just with me (no guests this time!) and they will be the final two episodes of the Fertile Mindset Podcast. The podcast will still be here, and you'll be able to listen back to the whole library of 94 episodes but these are the final two to be released, and during these episodes I'm going to be explaining why I’ve come to this decision.  I begin here with the three core values of Fertile Mindset - clarity, purpose and joy - why clarity is so important, the surprising outcome that can arise when we pursue clarity for ourselves, and how this can be unsettling. I’ll be sharing my “clarity moment” in the next episode, but this one is for you with a powerful message and call to action for you and your big and beautiful life. I hope you enjoy this short episode, recorded for you with love xx Next steps: Sign up for Daily Seeds emails to inspire and support, and a bundle of free gifts! It’s been a month since I last released an episode, and not only is this episode a very special one that I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you for a while - it’s also my last guest episode on the podcast. There will be a couple more episodes released, where I’m going to share some updates and my plans for the future of Fertile Mindset, because my life and my work are going through some quite significant changes, hence why I haven’t been so present on the podcast or on social media recently. However, there’s one place you will still hear from me - almost every day - and that is in my Daily Seeds emails. So if you haven’t signed up yet, and would like to receive my daily messages of support and inspiration direct to your inbox, as well as being on my mailing list for news and special offers, then do sign up at www.fertilemindset.com/dailyseeds. I’m sorry to be a tease and hint at big changes, but not actually tell you yet what those changes are. I promise it’s coming very soon. I’m working everything out right now, so that I can move forward with a version of Fertile Mindset that works for me, my family, and you, and everyone who follows me and works with me. I appreciate you all so much that I want to make sure I’m getting this right, before I make the announcement. So, look out for the next two - which will be the final two - episodes of the Fertile Mindset Podcast where I will be very open and clear with you. I want to thank you so much for being here, and being a listener and supporter of the podcast. This episode is with someone I’ve known for around 10 years. She first came to me as a client for support on her fertility journey, and has taken a path through life that is nothing short of remarkable, becoming a best selling children’s author with her first book soon to be turned into a movie. Let me introduce you to Hannah Gold.  Hannah grew up in a family where books, animals, and the beauty of the outside world were ever present, and is now passionate about writing children's stories that share her love of the planet. Her debut, The Last Bear, was a Sunday Times bestseller and won a number of national and international awards, including the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the Blue Peter Book Award in 2022. She is also the author of The Lost Whale, Finding Bear and the recently released Turtle Moon which was another instant best seller.  Hannah's books have sold over 250,000 copies in the UK alone, and been translated into 27 languages around the world. She is an ambassador for Whale and Dolphin Conservation, and lives in Lincolnshire with her tortoise and her husband. I loved this conversation with Hannah because we talked in depth about how her fertility journey led to her author journey, and the depth of her writing that has been enhanced by her life experiences including infertility. Her books are very special, and whether you have children in your life or not, I encourage you to read them for yourself, and feel the magic of her beautiful adventure books about animals, the natural world and the moving stories of the people in her books too. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation, and if you want to explore your own life’s path just as Hannah did with me, in EFT coaching sessions, then send me an email at mail@fertilemindset.com and I’d love to have a chat with you. Here’s what is included in this episode: How Hannah has kept herself grounded through massive life change and success. Why we first met around 10 years ago, and how Hannah wanted to use EFT Tapping to remove emotional blocks and beliefs. The “goosebumps” sign that Hannah was meant to be a writer, and how the pursuit for a child meant she wasn’t connected to it then. The turning point that led her to going for her dream, and the story idea that quickly became a bestselling and multi-award winning book, soon to be a movie! The depths of her writing, and an insight into her new book Turtle Moon and the personal fertility story and life experiences behind it. Today’s guest is Jo Hodson, who lives in a van that she designed herself, while travelling and working wherever she chooses. It was so inspiring to hear her speak about how she lives her life completely on her terms. Before Jo embarked on full-time van life she lived in the next town to me and we have several mutual friends. When I heard she had converted a Ford Transit van and this was now her home I was intrigued and started following her journey on Instagram. I quickly became hooked and I love to check her daily stories where she shares the highs and lows of van life, as well as breathtaking photos of the gorgeous places she travels to and calls home for a while. This conversation with Jo was raw and authentic and shows us another way to live that isn’t conventional but may well just feel ‘right’ for some. I hope you enjoy listening, and that Jo inspires you to live your life with more clarity and authenticity - whether that’s in a van or not! Within this conversation Jo talked about her two instagram accounts and whether she would keep them both. Since recording she has now decided to have just one account, which is where you can follow both her brilliant van life stories and hear about her business and work too. The new name of her account to follow is @iamjohodson  Here’s what is included in this episode: Why Jo decided to convert a Ford Transit and embrace full-time van life 3 years ago, and how it transformed her dislike of driving! How the “dark side of freedom” and lack of community has actually been challenging, and how Jo has found ways to anchor herself. When Jo changed her whole life at age 30, so that making the shift to van life wasn’t such a surprise to her friends and family. How she has found a unique way to make a living and work while on the road, and how she sees others do this too in creative ways. Navigating a new relationship with another van-lifer and how this is working for them to make sure they spend time together. The way Rebecca combines strategy and energetic frequency for each element of her business and why both are essential. How our thoughts and beliefs change our vibrational energy which is then communicated as we work in our business. A journey through vision boards and the most important thing to remember for them to work powerfully! I have known Jessica for many years, since working with her at her fertility arts event, Fertility Fest. Since then Jessica’s life has taken many twists and turns, through losses and heartache, and she has both adventured and written her way through. Jessica’s three books are all favourites of mine, and I was inspired to invite her on to the podcast after attending the launch of her newest book - her best yet - Save Me From the Waves.  Jessica Hepburn is an award-winning author, arts producer and adventure activist who has become one of the UK’s leading voices on fertility and family as well as a pioneer in inspiring people to live big and bravely when life doesn’t go to plan, and championing the benefits of going on adventures to improve your physical and mental health. Formerly Executive Director of the Lyric Hammersmith – one of London’s leading theatres – Jessica led from inception to completion the theatre’s £20m capital redevelopment and was nominated as ‘Theatre Manager of the Year’. Whilst doing this, she was also trying to become a mother and went through eleven rounds of IVF at a range of UK fertility clinics which resulted in multiple miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy that almost took her life. She turned to exercise and adventure to heal her heartbreak and in 2022, she became the first woman in the world to achieve ‘The Sea, Street, Summit Challenge’ – which was swimming the English Channel, running the London Marathon and summiting Mount Everest.  Jessica has been nominated as one of Amnesty International’s ‘Women of Suffragette Spirit’;  and a 'Woman to Watch' in 2024 by Woman & Home Magazine. I was delighted to have Jessica join me on the podcast, and I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation. And once you’ve listened, if you haven’t done so already, do read Jessica’s books. They are beautifully crafted emotional stories of life, love, loss and of course adventure. Here’s what is included in this episode: Why Jessica has named herself an Adventure Activist and how this continues to take on more meaning with each chapter of her life. Why she believes a healing process takes a lifetime and the power of being the lead character in your own life story. The paradox she recognises in herself between high self-confidence and feeling inadequate, and how this is important for self knowledge.  Making meaning from her stories with the similarities between going through IVF, swimming the Channel and climbing Everest (Chomolungma) and how nature is ultimately in control.  Why I love Jessica’s unique style of writing and insights into how she wrote each of her 3 books.  Guest Links: @jessica_hepburn_ on Instagram  www.jessicahepburn.com With Love from Jessica Hepburn on Substack Jessica’s Books: Save Me From The Waves: An Adventure from Sea to Summit  21 Miles: Swimming in Search of the Meaning of Motherhood  The Pursuit of Motherhood  Next steps: Sign up for Daily Seeds emails to inspire and support, and a bundle of free gifts! I loved having this conversation with Rosie after we first met at one of her nature-focused day retreats. The retreat was a birthday present from my husband, and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as soon as I arrived and saw the beautiful setting Rosie had created, I knew it would be a special day! Rosie is the co-founder of Wild Ivy Retreats, a sanctuary dedicated to fostering community and nurturing a deeper sense of self through meaningful connections with nature. Their retreats and events offer guided meditations, foraging experiences, nourishing food, creative workshops, and a strong sense of community. Rosie is passionate about helping people find stillness and create space for their minds to rest, guiding them on a journey to inner peace and rejuvenation. I loved hearing more about Rosie’s story, how she came to create Wild Ivy Retreats, and what this work means to her. I hope you enjoy listening too, and it inspires you to not only get out in nature but also to notice what lights you up and consider how you can follow your own passions too.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How a desire to create a nature-focused space to call in community post-Covid led to her co-founding Wild Ivy Retreats. Being surrounded by people in the festival scene who were following their passion through their work, and how this sparked ideas about how and where she could work.  Rosie’s adventure in Guatemala where she learnt the art of space holding and ceremony and what was said that helped her overcome imposter syndrome. How Covid lockdown time gave her space to connect with nature and develop her practices, which would become her thriving retreat business. We talk about the learnings and connections we can gain from being in nature, and the surprising message I “received” before I arrived at Rosie’s retreat! I met Janey through our mutual friends, and I have enjoyed getting to know her and learn about her eclectic career, which now has a big focus on alcohol-free living. Janey is so passionate about this topic, especially because she approaches it from the perspective of “grey area drinking”, that I think many of us can relate to.  Janey Lee Grace is a life coach trained in NLP, EFT, Matrix and Family Constellations therapy, plus sobriety and health coaching. She runs a community called The Sober Club and offers 1-1 coaching and group sessions. Formerly she was a broadcaster best known as a co-host on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on BBC Radio 2. She is the author of five books on holistic living including two number-one Amazon best sellers. Janey has a BA Hons degree in Performance Arts, was a backing singer with WHAM! and had a Top Ten hit with Cola Boy in 1991. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation which takes us on a journey through Janey’s professional and personal life, which is both fascinating and inspiring, showing us that we can find our purpose and ways to support others through our own life experiences and learnings.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How Janey knew that she was ambitious and driven even as a child, and how this led her to a pop music and radio DJ career (with her “cheekiness” getting Janey her first break in radio!) When everything changed for Janey during her first pregnancy, taking her on a steep learning curve with a new focus on her work which was way ahead of her time. The ‘elephant in the room’ that was alcohol and the moment that she knew that she would stop drinking forever.  How people are now choosing to leave alcohol behind without needing to hit rock bottom first, and the spectrum of drinkers that may want to stop but aren’t finding the support to do it.  The unexpected enquiry that led her to create Sober Coach training which has become an exciting part of her life.  Guest Links: www.thesoberclub.com Alcohol Free Life podcast www.janeyleegrace.com @janeyleegrace on Facebook @janeyleegrace on Instagram Recommended book: The Sober Diaries by Clare Pooley   Next steps: Sign up for Daily Seeds emails to inspire and support, and a bundle of free gifts! Model Strangers is one of my favourite accounts to follow on Instagram. The videos are beautiful snippets of human life and interaction, and the community that it has created is so positive and heartwarming. Knowing that this was one person’s project, which seemed like a pursuit of their purpose, I knew that I had to invite Chris to the podcast. I was delighted when he accepted my invitation and I really enjoyed this ‘behind the scenes’ conversation where we talk about how and why Model Strangers got started and learn more about this amazing project which has a rapidly growing following. Christopher Ward was born in South Africa and now lives in Northern Ireland. He’s a wedding videographer and photographer who decided just last year to try something different. He'd been feeling creatively unfulfilled for a long time and wanted to explore a new project that would showcase humanity. The result is Model Strangers, now with over 700k followers on Instagram. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Chris and feel inspired by how he has brought purpose into his life in a very creative way.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How feeling creatively unfulfilled and wanting to ‘get out of his own head’ led him to a new idea and project. Creating a positive online community and the responsibility he feels to the people he features on his account. The qualities he’s looking for which indicate they’ll be an interesting person with a story to tell, and how vulnerability and authenticity lead to real connection in his conversations. The skills and attributes that he’s recognised in himself since setting up the Model Strangers project. “Behind the scenes” and insights into his videos and the people he has met, and how one of his most popular videos with over 10 million views surprised him. It’s a pleasure to welcome back Alice Rose to the podcast, and this time - like me - she’s sharing how her coaching and focus of her work has expanded beyond the fertility world.  Alice is an internationally recognised coach, speaker, writer and mum of 3. She’s the founder and CEO of Fertility Life Raft™ ; the creator of BBC Radio 2's Fertility Week, and Alice works in and outside of the fertility world coaching and mentoring women at all stages inside her 1:1s; courses and coaching mastermind Happen. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation, and that you find Alice’s approach to life both inspiring and empowering, as she acknowledges the struggles and challenges that we all face, and how we can continue to thrive and create the life of our dreams.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How the inner work has enabled her to show up online, create a community and create a business on her terms. What it was like to build a business through the most chaotic time in her life. How the concept of our ‘future self’ can support us as we move through life. Owning ambition while growing babies and raising children. Showing up for ourselves compassionately every day and taking on a ‘joy first’ approach. This podcast is the last episode in this current series of conversations with some really lovely guests. I’ve enjoyed recording these for you, and I’ve gained and learned a lot myself from each and every one.  Today’s is particularly special as Nicola is someone I have known for a very long time. We first met over 30 years ago when we were in the same class at school. Then we were at college together on the same course. And then years later we got back in touch through the magic of social media, Nicola was retraining in nutrition and coaching, and transitioning away from a corporate role and into the work, she is truly meant to be doing. Nicola has an affinity with the experience of grief, drawing on her own losses and bringing in all her skills to support this inevitable part of the human experience. Grief is something that is rarely talked about in relation to fertility and infertility, and I believe we need to talk about it, acknowledge it and bring it out into the open. So that’s what Nicola and I did in this episode and I hope it brings you a deeper understanding of how you may be feeling, and some comfort too.    Here’s what is included in this episode: The myriad of emotions related to grief, and how giving yourself permission to feel them is a gift. The many layers of grief related to infertility and pregnancy loss. How we may experience suspended grief, and initiations of the soul through acceptance. The important role of community when we are grieving.   Guest links: Book: The Wild Edge of Sorrow by Francis Weller  Go to Nicola’s website Follow Nicola on Instagram Next steps: Download your free Fertility EFT Starter Kit See if my one-to-one Fertile Mindset coaching support is right for you. In this episode, I’m sharing a conversation with Jen Edmonds. I first got to know Jen when she was on her own fertility journey. She was a Fertile Mindset client and used EFT / Tapping with me to support her through her emotional challenges. Jen said that EFT blew her mind with how effective it was, which was also her experience of discovering Fertility Yoga. Since then, and since Jen has happily had her two children, she now supports others on a fertility journey with her unique approach to Fertility Yoga. Jen says that Fertility Yoga is so much more than the work you do on the mat. I hope you enjoy listening to this conversation with Jen, and I’m delighted to share with you that Jen is a contributor to my soon to be released Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle, which is a fabulous bundle of resources that will be on sale next week. Jen’s online fertility yoga program is included, along with lots of other support for every aspect of your fertility. It’s not on sale yet, but I’ll be sharing on Facebook and Instagram when it is, and I’ll add the link below when it’s on sale too. We’re receiving new contributions every day from some of the most knowledgeable and empathic people in the fertility world, so make sure you check out the Budget Friendly Fertility Bundle next week.   Here’s what is included in this episode: Jen’s own fertility story and how it led to EFT and fertility yoga. How yoga gave her back her power. What an ‘everyday’ fertility yoga practice can look like and her secret to sticking to it. How to use yoga and EFT (tapping) together successfully! This episode with Kristin, who is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and neural retraining specialist, was fascinating and we did a deep dive into the impact of stress on health and wellness, including fertility health. Kristin focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness and infertility and supports the body’s natural ability to achieve healing and balance when provided the right conditions. With advanced training in functional lab testing and interpretation, nutritional counselling, and mind-body therapies, Kristin provides a whole person approach to health and fertility which you are going to hear about in this episode. I love that at the end Kristin includes lots of practical ideas on how to rewire the brain and body’s stress response, and one I was very happy to hear her recommend is EFT. You can learn more about this amazing technique by listening to episode 20 here.  Now let’s get on to today’s episode to hear Kristin talk about the Stress and Fertility Link.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How Kristin’s passion for children’s health led her to focus on preconception care and fertility. That stress is an underrated area of health and wellness, and what happens to the nervous system which can impact on fertility. The power of psychoneuroimmunology and the “cell danger response” and what we can learn from it. The strategies that Kristin uses and recommends to her clients to improve vagal tone, rewire the brain to reduce stress, and more! On this first podcast of 2023 I’m speaking with EFT Master and co-founder of the EFT Centre in London, Emma Roberts. Almost 20 years ago when I was a newly qualified EFT practitioner, Emma’s own specialism in fertility support was a key part of my education and exploration into this topic. In fact, attending a training session on Fertility EFT led by Emma was a pivotal moment for me in specialising in fertility for the last two decades. It was wonderful to talk more with Emma about what a powerful technique EFT is and the many ways it can make a positive difference when facing fertility issues or any other challenging moments in life.   Here’s what is included in this episode: The phobia that Emma and her partner Sue witnessed being removed by tapping led them both to EFT and eventually becoming EFT Masters. How and why tapping works to calm the nervous system, and why it integrates so well with western medicine.  Why Emma is also passionate about using EFT for cancer and other serious diseases, and the parallels she sees to fertility.  How using visualisation alongside tapping can help uncover and resolve negative beliefs. This episode features the lovely Emily Ginn who I got to know a couple of years ago when the Clubhouse live chat app was launched. In the fertility support chat rooms, I heard Emily speaking with a depth of true understanding about the mindset side of fertility. Then as Emily and I were on such a similar wavelength, we shared many chat rooms on Clubhouse. More recently I was a guest on her brilliant podcast IVF This. And now here we are, continuing our chat on my podcast now about all things mindset! I really loved where this conversation took us, exploring the difference between happiness and mindset, and why it’s more important to work on mindset.   Here’s what is included in this episode: How Emily discovered her thoughts were making the experience of infertility even more difficult. The effect of the ‘giant spotlight’ that fertility issues shine on us in how we think. Why the way our minds are wired is not suited to the nuances of a fertility journey. What is important to remember when you have thoughts about failing or being a failure.
