In recognition of his contributions, Bob Jones University, Northland Baptist Bible College, and Ambassador Baptist College all awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1997. Dr. Pettit is passionate about Discipleship. Presently, he utilizes his gifts as a compelling communicator and expositor of Scripture with a focus on leadership. He travels as an itinerant evangelist with a gospel bluegrass musical team. What are the things about the IFB that don't reflect what the Bible says a Church is supposed to be? Brian, JC, and Nate discuss things they experienced and witnessed growing up in the IFB Movement that missed the mark of what God calls the Church to be. This will be a multiple week discussion.

2023-10-0658:41

JC, Brian, and Nate talk about what it means to be the church. We don't go to church... we are the church. This is an honest and candid conversation about the perception of the church in our culture as opposed to how Scripture defines the Church.

JC, Brian, and Nate discuss their Sabbatical and the new season of the RFP
Nathan recently went to Maranatha Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Kentucky, where Pastor Austin Weist asked him to preach on, "The Truth Behind Translations". Austin was leading his church out of King James Onlyism and he wanted to be sure his people understood the issue. Austin is the host of The Starving for Truth Podcast which is a part of the RFP Network.
JC, Brian, and Nate continue their conversation with Dr. Phil Kidd and Paul Kidd. We left you on a cliffhanger last week when Dr. Phil announces he has a question for the RFP Hosts... so, fasten your seatbelts for part 2 of this incredible conversation.
This will blow your socks off! JC, Brian, and Nate sit down with America’s most controversial evangelist and pastor, Dr. Phil Kidd and his son Paul, to discuss the IFB, preaching styles, liberalism, and much more! Nothing is off limits!
Join Eric as he talks with JC Groves, Brian Edwards, and Nathan Cravatt from the Recovering Fundamentalist Podcast about men's ministry in the local church.   https://recoveringfundamentalist.org/   https://rfpnetwork.org
If JC, Brian, and Nathan have ever wanted to make everyone mad at the same time, this is their opportunity! They are tackling Politics and Faith in an episode that will equally offend both sides of the aisle and challenge them both, as well. This is a relevant issue that had to be tackled and who better to do it than the boys from the RFP!?! Disclaimer: You really need to hear this.
Listen as Brian interviews his dad, Craig Edwards, on this week's episode.
Our First Summer Sabbatical Replay of our Family Matters Episode.
There are anomalies in the animal kingdom and one of those anomalies is black sheep.
The Starving For Truth podcast follows the lives of three brothers in Christ who are considered "black sheep" of IFB.  Austin Weist, Chance Summers, and Tyler Graber share their stories of discovering grace and abandoning tradition for Scripture.

This is so painful to listen to. I had no idea preachers really behave and distort The Word like this.

So, just out of curiosity, why did the Radanks refer to Clarence Sexton as pastor and never call Clarence Sexton by his name?

Bahaha I can no longer listen to Another One Bite the Dust without singing "Start to smoke Marijuana". As that is the "Subliminal Message" when you play the song backwards. Thanks IFB youth groups of the 90's.

I just finished listening to the first episode and I am SO excited to hear the rest! I grew up FIB and am currently trying to get out of it. Everything y'all have said brought back so many memories and feelings, and I completely understand every single FIB term used, haha. I also went to a FIB college and ended up leaving because it just was so hypocritical and I was tired of that way of life. There are so many contradictions it's insane. I have so many stories and things I could tell about my experiences, and I can't wait to continue listening to the rest of this podcast and hear other's stories as well!!
