I’m so glad you’re here today. Since we’re still in January — that season when many of us are setting fresh goals, making plans, and dreaming about what 2026 could look like — we wanted to lean into that ‘new year energy’ and offer some practical support.
Last week, we talked about Why Your Goals Don’t Stick and how busy moms can actually achieve their goals in 2026 using SMART planning. We broke down what makes a goal achievable and how to set yourself up for success.
Today, we’re shifting our focus to something just as important — your mindset. Because while strategy matters, your mindset is what determines whether you end up feeling peaceful and focused… or burned out and overwhelmed.
Burnout is incredibly common for moms — especially when you’re juggling kids, work, home life, relationships, and the never-ending mental load that comes with managing a household.
In this episode, we’ll explore why mindset matters so much, and walk through a few key mindset shifts moms can make to move from survival mode to a life that feels sustainable, calm, and supportive.

How was your Christmas? Christmas Day is always so magical, but once the presents are opened and life starts to settle back into normal, I sometimes feel that quiet post-holiday letdown. The days between December 25th and early January are actually called Christmastide — that cozy stretch where you don’t quite know what day it is, and everything feels a little slower. Happy December! Welcome we made it through the gauntlet that was Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and probably a few awkward family moments and conversations over the dinner table. We just got back from our first family trip out to DC for Thanksgiving, and we are so glad to be back home in warm, sunny CA. So first - take a deep breath. You did it! Now there’s just Christmas and New Year’s to get through, no big deal. December can sometimes feel like this weird in-between - part celebration, part exhaustion, part busy, part vacation. As moms we take on a lot over the holiday season, whether that be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s etc. So what can we do now that will make the holiday season lighter and more enjoyable. As a natural planner I have found that this is in direct parallel to how I enjoy the holiday season. The more tasks and to-do items that I can get off my list before Thanksgiving and Christmas the less anxious and stressed I feel and the more I am actually able to focus on the Christmas Eve service or enjoy time with family over Thanksgiving. Today we will be talking about ten things you can do right now to make the holiday season a bit lighter, less busy, and more peaceful. Now before you turn off the episode imagining it’s just another laundry list of to-do items, take a deep breath and know that this is just a suggested list and all or any of these tasks do not need to get done right here and now. More often than not we just have too much in our head. Too many tasks that we can’t even write them down…that’s when we need to stop. How do I know? This was me last week. Maybe it was because we were in a busy season of three kids doing sports, or that I was traveling every weekend and playing catch up during the week, or maybe it was all the things that I take care of and the invisible mental load piling up. We as moms hold so much, the invisible mental load, household management, work management, the social schedule, appointments, errands, meal prep, etc. So what do we do when we don’t even know what tasks are a priority? When everything seems important? Oftentimes I hear from clients that they don’t even know where to start, or what task they should prioritize, because every task seems important. Today we will walk through some practical steps to use when you don’t know where to start and your to-do list seems out of control. We will break down your to-do list and help you get clarity, so that you can prioritize and have more peace knowing you are working on the most important thing. Do you ever just feel exhausted? Your head feels full of to-do items, should do tasks, must do timeline deadline tasks. In a world full of messages we often miss the fact that we are bombarded with noise, hidden agendas, and constant consumer messaging non stop. It's hard not to notice when our inbox is overflowing with emails, and we need to sift through to find what is urgent and what is just junk. Every time we pop in our earbuds to listen to podcasts, music, audio books check out social media, or watch a YouTube clip we are bombarded with countless marketing ads. We can’t even skip commercials now if we are watching something on demand. It’s ridiculous! This is the real reason you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and exhausted. You are constantly sifting through messages all day long trying to determine if it is an important message that you need to do something about, good information to consume, or just junk. We don’t even notice that it is wearing on our brains and our ability to make clear decisive decisions. And we wonder why it’s hard to be decisive or why we feel exhausted and tired when we “haven't done much.” In this episode we will walk through signs of mental overload and brain fatigue, talk about practical steps we can take to minimize feeling mentally overwhelmed, and find real solutions in this screen centric world (it’s not just tossing your phone out the window, but that would be nice).
