Sometimes you win; sometimes you lose. Sometimes you succeed; sometimes you fail. It's one thing to have a bad moment; it's another to have a bad year. How long do you want to play the victim? Yes, SOMETHING happened to you, leaving you feeling dissatisfied and upset. I'm not saying whatever you're experiencing isn't valid, but you give your power away the moment someONE or someTHING outside of yourself dictates/alters your outlook on life. Robert Frost once said, "In three words, I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on." The synchronicity of this quote showing up in my inbox the day I sat to record this podcast episode blew my mind. It was that added reminder: what is made for you won't pass you- there is a greater meaning for everything that transpires in this world. Offer up gratitude for the lessons learned in every experience as they are our greatest teachers- it’s always ALL about perspective. A man is not finished when he's defeated; he’s finished when he quits. Continue to fail forward. Get back on the horse. You gain confidence through action, so commit to doing better next time- in whatever context that may apply to you at the moment. Adversity can either fuel our strength or anchor us down- we always have the choice. Either way, every upset brings us that much closer to our destiny- as long as we move forward constructively. In this episode, you'll learn: More about special guest, Tracey Litt, mindset teacher and spiritual advisor for female leaders and entrepreneurs Her mission is to remind women what they're capable of and lead them through the inner work required to get to the next level (you have to actively generate the next level of her!) She started in corporate America (lovely, but her soul was dying) Story of triumphant moments that led her to where she is today Ask yourself, "What would she do?" Who is she? She is the version of you that already exists outside of you. Ahead of you in the future, reminding you what you're capable of- reminding you to let go of the victim shit and trust- and move forward! Where are you trying to stick around holes into square pegs? Where are you allowing your not-enoughness and worth issues to impact the choices you are making/things you're allowing? Are you paralyzed by fear that you sit on the dream for too long? You have to stop letting yourself drive- the woman you are becoming needs to call the shots. Fear is the underpinning of every block every human has everywhere. Fear is not a stop sign; it is a green light (growing, healing, expanding) You have to move into the unfamiliar to generate what you desire. You can't actualize your visions and stay familiar. You must believe it to see it (not the other way around!) Neuroplasticity- you can change your belief system so that your mind works for you, not against you. No need to overcome fear- love it, recognize it, acknowledge it. Shift the relationship, and then you become more powerful than the fear. Your heart beats, your eyes wink, your mind produces thoughts. The power of thinking on purpose Hypnosis for healing, aka trans state (reaches subconscious mind which allows you to be suggestible), is roughly 97% of your output. Continue to invest in yourself because if you're not- what the fuck are you waiting for? In this episode, you'll learn: More about special guest, Laura Powers and her experience growing up feeling different at a young age (aka seeing & sensing ghosts) Why you must establish boundaries with outside sources (like spirits and guides) The dangers of blocking your intuition and inner guidance Psychic abilities exist within all of us (sometimes we just don't have the tools/understanding to recognize and support what is going on) Why teachers, knowledge, and sometimes equipment is necessary to achieve mastery in any area of life What once felt like a hindrance now feels like a superpower How to get started (listening to your soul/listening to the spiritual realm) That crystals act as magnifiers (carrying immense intelligence and consciousness) That our environment/surroundings can play a considerable part in our ability to receive- especially during different phases of the moon (and that what we need at different times varies!) How/where to access your light angels/spirit guides (and the difference between the two!) Why you must ASK for help and signs that indicate loved ones may be nearby (feathers, coins, numbers, ears popping, etc.) The difference between guidance from loved ones who have passed and spirit guides Older souls are more ready and able to manage psychic phenomena Why it's important to let go of other people's energy and give yourself an intentional shower of light Taking care of our energy field is JUST as important as taking care of our physical bodies (if not more) AND the benefit of taking out the energetic trash The power of prayer and how it has NOTHING to do with religion You must be clear when asking the Universe for what you want- if you walk into a restaurant and simply ask for "food," God only knows what is going to land on your plate. We are ALL powerful manifestors; some of us are simply manifesting the wrong things into our lives. Ask for want you want (OR more/better!), don't limit yourself, and put a cap on your potential The more you have/receive, the more you can give (it's a cycle) Jealousy is simply a sign from your soul saying, "I want that!" (And these feelings are normal so take it easy on yourself.) The importance of surrounding yourself with loving people that support you The people that find the most success aren't the most talented; they just don't give up! You can't transform the world without first changing yourself. In this episode, you'll learn: More about special guest Laurie Lewis and her four-year practice with intermittent fasting (IF) How perimenopause sparked her curiosity and ultimately led to the discovery of IF How she experienced weight gain, overall imbalance, physical pain, and more and what she did to journey back to health (she knew it was hormonal because NOTHING was working!) That she has always had a passion for nutrition/how we fuel our bodies but knows there isn't one best "right way" to eat; this is what we call bio-individuality She speaks on the pattern of time used by her and many of her clients (aka eating window/fasting hours) for IF That this modality can work for just about anyone; you get to decide your meals and windows, which allows for structure AND flexibility That it's very common to do a pattern of 16/8 The significance of eating to satiety (body is satisfied but not overly full) Just because food is there doesn't mean we HAVE to eat it It's essential to listen to your body and adjust based on your goals/metabolism The world would change if we all started to ask the question, "when am I eating today?" The power of hydration When we're fasting, we keep insulin low and CLEAN More about autophagy Why you should start with one thing at a time- fasting is a LOT on its own How IF is the ultimate form of intuitive eating - silence in the body allows for enhanced communication The dangers of over fasting Benefits of IF including boosted immunity Why it serves you to workout in a fasted state (stamina, strength, speed increased) Laurie's thoughts on juice cleanses and different styles of fasting, such as extended fasts The importance of having support In lean times (such as the great depression), people's health increases Anything the body perceives as food we do not want to take in while we're fasting because then the body will ask for more food The four c's: clean, customization, curiosity, consistency That you should fall in love with your own magnificence Why we must collectively shedd diet culture/mindset- food isn't bad! In this episode, you'll learn: More about wisdom teacher, Sophie McLean A teacher is someone that opens doors for others based on their own experience (not knowledge) Wisdom is knowing you hold the world in your eyes- it is the view you have of whats' happening that will give you your experience. Everything we have learned and will learn is an illusion. The souls' journey is to elevate back to the divine (and the best place to do that is earth!) More on Sophie's experience with plant medicine such as ayahuasca How connecting with shamans and gurus allowed her to learn what was possible for her mind and body and, more importantly, how to genuinely live in a space of love. How to bring knowledge gained from meditation back to the physical plane The way of the spiritual is to let go. How to discern between experience and escapism/addiction The beauty of a clear mind (and how it allows you to be genuinely present!) Life will always give us what we need, not what we want. How/why you should look at your life through the lens of a movie How Sophie was able to overcome the tragic loss of her baby, being shot at, getting raped, and becoming widowed just five short days after their wedding How often one has two thoughts- kill yourself or get back to life; she decided playing a victim was no longer an option. Navigating the difference between fact and the stories we tell ourselves Why there can be gratitude not for the tragedy but for the opportunity to elevate oneself Hard times open your heart to compassion and understanding. The moment you consider yourself a victim is the moment you give your power away to whatever it is you're the victim of Thoughts on dealing with grief as a natural part of the human experience The difference between pain and suffering (the latter is optional) To allow yourself to experience the impact of what is The shift from homo sapiens to homo spiritus There is nothing wrong with the ego- it has gotten us to where we are now. In this episode, you'll learn: Sitting in the stagnation is only going to leave you feeling perpetually stuck. Whatever it is, you're NOT changing; you're choosing. We can't avoid stress; we can only change the way we approach it. Don't disengage in the struggle; feel into the fear. We need challenges to grow. Ask yourself- avoidance or action? The potential of failure paralyzes you, your mind flying through the endless "what if's?" Can you really do this? Is this the right time? Are you competent? Wouldn't next year be better? If nothing changes, then NOTHING CHANGES, the time will never be "right," money will always be "tight." Ready is a LIE! Our lives are not shaped by conditions but by our decisions. Decide where you want to direct your focus. The only thing that will change the course of life is our choices. Suffering is anything less than your version of a beautiful life. It's not the facts that make you suffer. It's your perception of how things should be. All beliefs carry with them consequences. You can have any thoughts. Feed your faith & starve your doubts. Everyone dreams; dreaming is free. But success comes with the high taxes of doubt and struggle. They can be fleeting for most people, but success demands years of sweat and change and growth, way beyond what's easy and popular. Everyone dreams; few run the miles required for ultimate success. Doubt causes distraction which leads to delay, which means less traction towards your dreams. Avoidance of the challenges won't get you there. Action is the only thing that- disciplined action even in the face of fear. Swap out the word failure for feedback. You have two choices in this life- 1: Know that you're made for more, push forward and evolve even if there are moments of pain, fear & uncertainty along the way. 2: Stay stagnant. Comfortably content with the certainty of living a life of mediocrity. Dance with your fears. Get playful with possibility. What is the worst-case scenario if you did decide to jump before you were ready? If you leaped knowing you might fall? In this episode, you'll learn: Life usually works out BETTER than our plans. When we think we know what's best, we close ourselves off to the endless possibilities of what could be. When you're so fixed on an outcome, you miss out on the beauty that is the present moment. It boils down to trust- knowing that things will always work out in the end (this is not an invitation to be lazy, but to meet the Universe 1/2 way through your effort and then allow the space for her to do the rest. We suffer because of our resistance. Life happens. Nothing is good or bad. It's our perception of reality that makes it so. Diving timing/sliding doors. Instead of getting frustrated that you made the wrong turn, maybe take it as a wink from God. No matter what happens- the good, the bad, and the ugly. Offer up gratitude for it all and stop at nothing to find the opportunity for growth that exists within it. It is the upsets that catalyze creativity. Through death, new life is born. Our life can be greater than our imaginations. Yes, we are powerful beyond belief, but we will never measure up to the source from which we were created. You are a masterpiece, and things ARE going to work out in your favor. It's time to start living like it is. When you step away from who you think you should be. From who everyone else has conditioned you to be, you can let go and become who you were meant to be. You often don't realize that you are playing small. That your ego is, in fact, your biggest overhead. When things don't go the way they "should," ask yourself who made those rules anyway. Sometimes the biggest fuckups lead to the biggest fuck yes moments. Sometimes we're made for more than we give ourselves credit for, and then we get frustrated when things don't work out. The relationship, the job. In the moment, the cheating broke your heart- but it was because you weren't meant to be with that deadbeat anyway. The guy that came along after was WAY better. And if you haven't found him yet, stop stressing. Adjust your vibe.
