This week I’m joined by the Broadway Husbands, Stephen Hanna and Bret Shuford. In addition to a slew of incredible Broadway shows and Ballet between them, they also host their own podcast, have a Broadway clothing line, and are avid Disney lovers too! This week, we discuss the burnout factor in both the arts and mediumship, and explore ways to acknowledge it while still loving what we do. We’ll also discuss ways of tapping into our full potential, trusting the multiple pathways the Universe presents to us, in addition to sharing tips for maximizing our full potential creatively. As usual, we’ll discuss Stephen and Bret’s reading (I read them as a couple), the Soul who made total sense AFTER the reading, and I’ll also answer what happens during a reading when the person you were expecting to come through doesn’t. I also debunk the rumor on if some of us are just “unreadable” as well as share the story about the time I went to read someone and got NOTHING. If you’d like to learn more about Bret, Stephen, and the Broadway Husbands, feel free to check out the following!Instagram: @broadwayhusbands broadwayhusbands.comLearn more about Mediumship or book a reading for yourself!Instagram: @stagedoormedium stagedoormedium.comGraphics and Editing:Instagram: @davidraydesign davidraydesign.comWatch on Instagram &. This week, Broadway stage manager extraordinaire Danny Maly stops by the Stage Door! On this episode, Danny and I talk about the pathways into our careers we wish we’d known about and discuss practical tips to get started in either. Danny and I also chat about working with a wide variety of energies and personalities on a daily basis, how to cater to each type, but also how to shed that energy when we go home after a long day and where to draw the line. Of course we chat about pets, their own Spirit guides, and how we can utilize them for assistance with our four legged children! This week, Danny and I have a really beautiful heart to heart as we discuss his parents, acknowledging grief and loneliness, as well as some of the most beautiful stories on the ways Danny sees his mom and dad in all he does, including numbers and birds. Danny also talks with us about his incredible business of collected and curated goods, Homeward Derby, as well as the special energy that objects can hold for all of us. We’re back tonight with a new episode as Bonnie Milligan stops by the stage door! Bonnie made her Broadway debut in Head Over Heels, and was also seen in the off-Broadway productions of Promenade, Joseph, and Gigantic, in addition to the national tour of Kinky Boots. This week, I explain whether or not Mediums are able to read family or close friends, and if so, when it’s allowed/possible. Bonnie and I also have a great discussion on finding our own authenticity: in the audition room, on stage, and in the real world, and what authenticity looks like in terms of being a Medium. We also chat about growing your ability, steering clear of embellishments during a show or a reading to impress the crowd/client, and well as our post show or reading routines. As usual, Bonnie shares some beautiful details about our reading together, as well as some incredible messages from both her father and grandmother who came through. To close, I chat about what happens when we have to throw away or donate items that once belonged to our loved ones or were gifted to us from them, and why we shouldn’t feel bad in doing so. Welcome back to the Stage Door! This week, I’m joined by the brilliant Ben Davis. Some of Ben’s MANY Broadway credits include Les Miserables, Violet, Thoroughly Modern Millie, La Boheme, and Dear Evan Hansen in addition to national tours, concert work, tv and film. Join us this week as we chat about drones, pizza, and the hike that nearly killed me in Woodstock, NY (Kind of kidding?) Ben shares some beautiful stories about his father, the simple yet profound life-advice he gave, and the one message Ben’s father wouldn’t let up on until I shared it aloud. Truly, the impact of what I shared with Ben that day didn’t even fully click until we met again for our interview. We also chat about Marin Mazzie’s legacy, competition within the Mediumship community, as well as discuss different careers, ego checks, and why we shouldn’t be trying to quantify the work we do!Make sure to check out Ben’s account Instagram: @thisbendavisbenjaminjaydavis.comLearn more about mediumship or book a reading with me!Instagram: @stagedoormedium stagedoormedium.comEditing and graphics:Instagram: @davidraydesign davidraydesign.comWatch on Instagram & YouTube
This week we leave the Stage Door and head over to Doylestown, PA! On this special episode of Stage Door Medium, I’ll share my experience of what it was like staying in the home of one of musical theatre’s founding fathers, Oscar Hammerstein II. Tune in this week to learn all about Oscar, whether or not it’s possible to channel celebrities, and all the creative ways Oscar validated his presence and opinions on things when I arrived at his home, Highland Farm. I’ll also be sharing some fun stories about the rainbow that supposedly led them to their home, the natural landscape that inspired Oscar’s Oklahoma lyrics, as well as which other friends or relatives of Oscar’s came through that day to visit. Also, come learn about the exciting current plans and to turn Oscar’s home into an immersive museum as well as how YOU can help! I’ll also discuss what is considered evidential information during a reading, what isn’t, and why it’s crucial that evidential information be provided when you sit with a Medium.Learn more about Oscar’s home and how you can help:www.hammersteinmuseum.org/Book a stay for yourself at Oscar’s home:www.highlandfarmbb.comLearn more about mediumship or book a reading for yourself!stagedoormedium.comEditing, graphics, and video footage of Highland Farm:davidraydesign.comWatch on Instagram & YouTube
This week, Broadway’s Talia Suskauer stops by the Stage Door! Talia made her Broadway debut in Be More Chill and will soon be flying high again as Elphaba on the national tour of Wicked when performances resume on August 3rd in Dallas, TX. This week, I answer a popular question, “Do people who were grumpy or mean here in the physical world stay that way in Spirit?” From there, Talia and I discuss the importance of raw talent versus trainability and if one is more crucial than the other, both as performers and lightworkers. We also talk about the concept of loss, understanding it at any age, and why we shouldn’t count younger actors out of the running to tackle heavier material. I’ll also piggyback and share why for most mediums, it’s usually a graduated approach before we can start channeling the heavier content in readings. As usual, we’ll discuss Talia’s reading, as she graciously goes into detail about our time together! Finally, we’ll chat about our relationships and how they’re impacted by our jobs, and how to deal with those “friends” who may try to take advantage of us or expect things for free. P.S. join us next week for an extra special episode from Oscar Hammerstein’s home as I recently visited there and it was incredible. And yes… Oscar came through loud and clear. Alicia Albright stops by the stage door tonight! Broadway credits include Wicked ,where she served as Dance captain, as well as performing in the national tours as well. Most recently, Alicia was seen in Frozen on Broadway! Alicia is also the founder of the Feed Your Soul Project, where her mission is to help others speak their heart, discover the light within each of us, and then learn how to share it with the world. This week, I’ll explain my process in detail in terms of what I do before I channel (Ground, Protect, Connect). From there, we dive right in and talk about the concepts of breathwork and mindfulness and why it sadly doesn’t have a place (yet) in the Broadway rehearsal room, but it doesn’t mean we can’t make it happen for ourselves before the rehearsal starts. We also talk about the importance of just showing up, and how so often, we can share our light with others simply by being in the same room. Alicia talks about what it looks like creating a show from scratch, as was the case with her being an OBC member of Frozen and touches on acknowledging the sensitivities of not only castmates, but crew, creatives, and assistants. In addition, we’ll talk about Alicia’s reading, the importance of vacation time and rest, and Nessa’s wheelchair soap-opera moment from Wicked that I’m determined to turn into a viral challenge.Audio versions now streaming on Apple Podcasts and Spotify Podcasts Learn more about Alicia:Instagram: @aliciaalbrightfeedyoursoulproject.comLearn more about Mediumship, Jimmy, or book a reading for yourself:Instagram: @stagedoormedium stagedoormedium.comEditing and GraphicsInstagram: @davidraydesign davidraydesign.comWatch on Instagram & YouTube
This week Broadway Queen Lesli Margherita stops by the Stage Door. Broadway credits include originating the role of Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical and Mona Kent in Dames at Sea, in addition to Off B’way in Emojiland and The Who’s Holiday. This week, I’ll answer one of the most commonly asked questions, “Will the person I expect most to come through absolutely be there in the reading? If not, why is that?” From there, Lesli and I talk about how we deal with uncomfortable information, whether that be at the stage door or given to me from Spirit during a reading. In addition, we’ll talk about bootlegs: pitting actors against one another in comparison videos and how they rob aspiring artists from their own creative process. In addition, I’ll share which Matilda song is almost identical to what it feels like inside a medium’s brain (or at least mine!). Lesli chats about manifestation and intention plus how landing the role of Mrs. Wormwood was a direct result of it. As always, we’ll chat about Lesli’s reading with me and how her incredible father, Bob, was quick to come through in addition to sharing some crazy specific details through Matilda lyrics as well as those ugg slippers… Finally, we’ll share stories about not being physically present for an important loved one’s passing and how we’re not meant to guilt ourselves should this happen. Thanks for popping by the Stage Door, and we’ll see you next week at 7pm!Learn more about Lesli:leslimargherita.com/Instagram: @queenlesli Learn more about mediumship or book a reading for yourself:stagedoormedium.comInstagram: @stagedoormediumEditing & Graphics:davidraydesign.comInstagram: @davidraydesignWatch on Instagram & YouTube
This week, Broadway’s Patricia Phillips stops by the Stage Door! Some of Patricia‘s incredible credits include the original Broadway cast of the Secret Garden,in addition to the Broadway productions of Kinky Boots (Only WOC in the Broadway production), and the Phantom of the Opera (first POC to play Carlotta!). In addition to Broadway, Patricia is also a professor at Penn State (The luckiest students!) This week, we sit down to discuss getting the bug from an early age, dedicated theatre and music teachers who introduce us to the magic of theater at an early age, and Patricia’s time at Carnegie Mellon. We also discuss how long it takes Patricia and myself to warm up either for a performance or a reading, respectively, as well as some secret tidbits from Phantom of the Opera and colorism within the arts. We also have a great chat on ego, confidence, and arrogance and their place within the arts and mediumship, the timelessness of good technique and training, and why Phantom’s Carlotta is a fighter. As always, we’ll discuss Patricia’s reading, channeling her Mom into her performance in Phantom, and the glow-up from wearing pajamas onstage to eventually 50 lb beaded gowns. This week I’m joined by the incredibly talented, grounded, bright light that is Emma Hunton. Broadway credits include Spring Awakening (B’way debut), and Next To Normal. Tour: Wicked (Elphaba), Next to Normal (Natalie), and Les Miserables (Young Cosette), Freaky Friday (Ellie). Emma can currently be seen on tv in Freeform’s Good Trouble as Davia. This week is probably one of my favorite episodes, as we spend such a good amount of time talking about Emma’s reading, and her incredible Mom, Erica, who passed away a few years ago. Emma shares some really beautiful stories of her mom, in addition to many details from our reading together including a special party where no Costco sandwiches were allowed! Wait until she shares the autocorrect moment that validated her choosing me as the medium, it’s nuts! In addition, we’ll talk about the power of manifesting, but still working our ass off to get there. Don’t forget, manifestation merely provides the opportunity coming our way. From there, it’s all hard work, networking, and skill. Or another explanation: Manifestation provides the job interview. From there, we have to sell it and EARN that job. We also chat about reincarnation, coming back within the same family unit, and the big questions to ask before booking a reading. Finally, we’ll discuss which character could benefit the most from a medium, in addition to our favorite Showgirls (Yes, THAT movie) drinking game, and the glory of the movie Spice World. Thanks for tuning in for this really special episode, and don’t forget, the instagram giveaway closes tonight for a free reading with me! I share my entire list from head to toe of what means what on mine during a reading, as clairsentience (clear-feeling) is one of my strongest abilities. We’ll also discuss MJ’s reading in-depth, as well as chat about his incredible father who passed ten years ago and the beautiful evidential information his Dad provided during the reading. Welcome to the Season Two premiere of Stage Door Medium!I hope you’re well and ready for some more in-depth discussions on energy-work, mediumship and the arts! This week, I’m joined by the ultra-talented Sally Wilfert. Sally has appeared in the Broadway productions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Assassins, and King David, as well as the National Tour of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and countless others. In addition to being one of the most talented folks out there, she’s genuinely one of the kindest and most grounded people as well. This week, Sally and I discuss the importance of making time for ourselves before the job and why it’s so important if we’re to bring our whole selves to the work. We also share some tips to ensure we enter the room and leave the room (audition or reading) with our own energy versus that of others. Trust me, as a Medium, it’s a real thing and I call it the "energetic gunk build up". In addition, Sally shares some beautiful memories, pieces of advice, and funny stories of her best friend, Rebecca Luker, who passed away in December of last year. We also discuss the beautiful new album, “All the Girls” that Sally and Rebecca created, in addition to the mind-blowing story about how the album transformed from a live soundboard recording into a full-blown studio album. In addition, we’ll discuss Sally’s reading, the best Adam Guettel advice for anyone playing Margaret in Piazza, and the characters Sally has played that could benefit most from a Medium. If you’re interested in developing your own Spiritual abilities, I’ll also share a bit more on Clairsentience and why it feels like the old Operation Board Game to me at times.Next week, we’re back to our regularly scheduled episodes on Mondays at 7PM!Learn more about Sally below:sallywilfert.comInstagram: @sallywilfertLearn more about Stage Door Medium or Book a reading with Jimmy below!stagedoormedium.comInstagram: @stagedoormediumEditing and animation:davidraydesign.comInstagram: @davidraydesignWatch on Instagram & YouTube
Content Disclaimer: Please note that this week’s episode contains discussions on eating disorders and suicide.Welcome to our final episode of season one of Stage Door Medium! This week, I’m joined by the insanely talented and insightful Tony Award nominated performer, Eva Noblezada! Eva’s Broadway credits include Kim in Miss Saigon and she is currently set to return in the role of Eurydice in Hadestown when Broadway resumes. This week, Eva and I discuss the importance of finding levity amidst heavy work, both in mediumship and the arts, as well as the need to separate ourselves from our job when we’re off the clock. In addition, we’ll talk all about the solar plexus chakra this week, the importance of remembering our wings, and I’ll share some tips I use before a reading to help stay grounded as well as protected. As usual, Eva will discuss her reading this week and I’ll share some insight on what I’ve learned in terms of who chooses to come through first and why. As usual, we’ll play our rapid fire wrap-up, as well as discuss why Patti LuPone might not like the turntable too much in Hadestown, and how Audra McDonald singing “Flowers” just might be the performance we all need. Also, be sure to check out Eva’s page and podcast, @theamarilloproject which focuses on growth through affirmation and conversation! Thanks for tuning in this season! Welcome to an extra special week of Stage Door Medium! This week I’m joined by Broadway star and Tony award winner, Stephanie J Block. Stephanie’s Broadway credits include The Boy From Oz, Wicked, Anything Goes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Falsettos, The Pirate Queen, 9to5, and The Cher Show (For which she won the Tony for Best Actress). Broadway aside though,Stephanie is quite possibly one of the kindest, most gracious humans I’ve ever met, so needless to say, it was a thrill and an honor to sit with her for a reading and then get to meet again for this episode. This week we cover so many topics, so fasten your wigs because it’s a good one! This week, Stephanie and I sit down to discuss the importance and power of saying “No”, or better yet, “No, and here’s why…” We’ll also talk about Stephanie’s time in The Boy From Oz, one of Jimmy’s future guests who was a professional Liza Minnelli paparazzi decoy, and how to shrug off those less than kind reviews. As usual, we’ll discuss Stephanie’s reading I gave her, but we really go in-depth this week, so if you’re equal parts interested in both Broadway AND mediumship, then this is the reading recap for you. I’ll also share a little bit of my prep-work beforehand with a White Light visualization, how to protect your energy during a reading, as well as discuss what the “loud-clap” sound means for me regarding someone’s passing when I channel. We’ll also discuss The Cher Show and the deeply Spiritual connection present through the use of three Cher’s and why it’s no different in real-life: We can call on past, present, and future versions of ourselves when we need it most.To close, we’ll play the usual wrap-up game, as well as discuss why you’ll never look at the “It’s a Small World” ride at Disneyland the same way ever again. Thanks for tuning in, and get ready for our final episode of Season 1 next Monday at 7PM! S1E16: The Name Game Featuring Lindsay Heather PearceWelcome back to another episode of Stage Door Medium! This week, I’m joined by the incredibly talented and equally kind Lindsay Heather Pearce. Lindsay made her Broadway debut last year starring as Elphaba in Wicked just a few weeks before the Broadway shutdown. You may also recognize Lindsay from a little show called Glee as the character Harmony (The Gerber Baby), a contract that was offered to her after being a runner up on the tv show, The Glee Project. This week we cover all the topics! To start, Lindsay and I discuss growing up in the 90s (Sega Genesis Lion King) and both being born with extreme hearing issues. It’s so interesting to talk about, considering that Lindsay’s career is centered around the importance of pitch, and clairaudience is one of my strongest abilities as a medium. We’ll also discuss Glee, working under tense conditions, and of course, Wicked. This week, we discuss Lindsay’s reading in-depth, starting with the concept of Spirit Animal Totems and Lindsay’s connection to crows. I’ll also share how to best identify yours! (Hint: it’s not via a FB quiz). From there, we’ll chat about Lindsay’s amazing grandfather, Bill, and how he had me up at 6AM ready to go for her reading at 1PM. If you’re a big Wicked fan, you’ll appreciate the specific show reference her grandfather gave about opening night right before that iconic entrance. Finally, we close with the “Lindsay Banana” comment that left us both super confused for a while and why it ties back to tonight’s episode title! S1E15: Compare and Despair Featuring Josh LamonThis week, I’m joined by the incredible Josh Lamon! Josh’s Broadway credits include Hair, Into the Woods, Elf, Finding Neverland, Groundhog Day, and most recently, The Prom (This show was just so so special!).This week Josh shares his experience making his Broadway debut in Hair. Fun fact, it’s one of my favorite topics to ask because each time an artist retells that story, I can still see the excitement and magic in their expression on their face, and it’s so special to witness. Josh and I also talk about finding the joy and beauty in our singularity, and remembering that what we have to offer the world is unlike anyone else! We’ll also discuss the too-short-lived smash, The Prom, what the experience was like, and why it may not be losing its relevance anytime soon. Josh shares what it’s like to work as an understudy and standby, fighting the temptation to copy another actor’s work, and gives the most beautiful piece of advice with the “Compare and Despair” mentality and why we only set ourselves up for failure when we do this.As usual, we’ll discuss Josh’s reading, the beautiful message from Spirit right out of the gate, and why you should always come into a reading open, but not gullible. I’ll also share some tips to make sure that when you go into a reading you’re not offering up too much information. I’ll be doing a blog post on this in the future, as there’s so much to be said on the topic! In addition, we’ll discuss our love for Angela Lansbury, Murder She Wrote (I’d crush this category on Jeopardy), as well as discuss Josh’s podcast, Josh Swallows Broadway!Learn more about Josh here:Instagram: @josh.lamonhttps://www.joshlamon.comPodcast: Josh Swallows BroadwayBook a Reading with Jimmy!www.stagedoormedium.comInstagram:@stagedoormedium Editing:www.davidraydesign.comInstagram: @davidraydesignWatch on Instagram & YouTube
Welcome back to another week of Stage Door Medium! This week, I’m joined by the incomparable Chilina Kennedy. Chilina made her Broadway debut in the Stratford Festival transfer production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and from there was handpicked by Carole King to succeed Jessie Mueller in Beautiful, The Carole King Musical. Most recently, Chilina originated the role of Dina on the national tour of The Band’s Visit. This week, we discuss sensing vibrations (For Chilina, it started in the womb as she’d rock out to her mom playing guitar while pregnant), as well as why meditation can happen anywhere and shouldn’t be as formalized as people think it is. Chilina also shares a profound piece of advice from her mother on the benefits of staying open to different types of faith and religious practices. Chilina and I also discuss the topic of psychometry (the ability to read energy from objects) and her amazing story about identifying the piano of her late piano teacher in a theatre years after having played it! Psychometry is also one of the reasons why I’d never try to do a reading inside an antique store. Too much energy! As usual, we discuss Chilina’s reading, why it’s important to go into a reading open to the agenda of Spirit versus ours, and how we will always receive the messages we need to hear.To close, Chilina tells us all about the Eclipse Theatre Company she founded in Toronto, their genius production of The Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and why immersive story-telling is a reminder that theatre will never die. S1E13: The Whole “Being Dead” ThingHi everyone!Welcome back to another week here at Stage Door Medium! This week, I’m joined by the incredible Dana Steingold who made her Broadway debut in Beetlejuice the Musical. Previous credits include the national tour of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, as well as the off-Broadway production of Avenue Q, City Center Encore’s Production of Anyone Can Whistle, and my favorite where I was able to see Dana perform, Into the Woods at KCR.Dana is a fitting guest today as we’re discussing haunted houses and energetic imprinting. It’s a tricky topic to cover, as for the most part, I don’t really believe in the concept of haunted houses or locations. For me, it’s hard to digest the fact that after we pass, we want to hang out in an old creaky home, or an old battlefield where we died to just scare people. Rather, I DO believe that our personality and sense of humor does translate to the other side. For example, if someone was a loud, boisterous person while they were here and they enjoyed jumping out and scaring people for laughs, their “signs” they leave their loved ones may not be as gentle as a penny or a perfume scent. Rather, it may be having an object move, it may be a loud noise. While this isn’t the case for all folks on the other side, it is very common. In terms of why certain spaces are deemed as “haunted” then, my answer would be the fact that some lower vibrational Spirits want the attention because they miss the physical (In a way, they’re stuck in the past by their choosing) This is a condensed version of a blog post that’s coming out soon on my site, but it’ll do for now! Dana and I discuss the topic of energetic imprinting and why theatres are one of the best places to experience what an imprint feels like, whether that be from the perspective of an audience member, or especially a castmate backstage where they’re obviously in the theatre more regularly than an audience member. In addition, Dana and I discuss distracting habits during a performance and a reading (Hint: Please don’t text during a reading OR at the theatre), and how to deal with folks who may bring a very strange, “caution tape” energy into a rehearsal room or reading. If you’re looking for ways to clear out that wonky energy after a person leaves, Jimmy shares tips for how to properly sage after they’re gone. Finally, Dana and I spend a good amount of time talking about her reading and the visit from a very special teacher of hers from Stage Door Manor, Michael Larsen. As a medium perceiving Michael’s energy, it’s a real joy to soak up, and fun fact: Michael has actually come through now four more times for other Broadway actors who knew and worked with him! One was previous guest, Julia Murney! Finally, we talk about the supportive fan base of Beetlejuice, why shows about grief are ultimately fan favorites, and why little red riding hood from Into the Woods may need a medium the most…Dana’s Instagram: @dsteinfaceBook a reading with Jimmy here: Stage Door MediumEditing: David Ray DesignWatch on Instagram & YouTube
