What can I say? Casey Hartnett endured the most brutal death scene in Terrifier 2; from being scalped to having bleach and salt poured onto her, I would have to say that she is a trooper! She also explained how the scene was made: five days to film that particular scene and how the makeup was applied.. Such good stuff to know! (I love getting the inside scoop on BTS secrets, especially when it comes to makeup and special effects). Casey, also being who she is, very cool person to talk to... Great personality and open which made the interview very fun and enjoyable, I can definitely see Casey winning more awards in her future. And, I wish her nothing but continued success in her already impressive career as an actress. Make sure to check out her other current films and upcoming projects by checking her IMDb profile!
Lauren joined me from across the pond, all the way in Turkey and I must admit that I was very impressed with what she had to say about her character in the film. This is not your normal, everyday child’s fairy tale. This rendition of Cinderella has a much darker side than what we know growing up. Lauren and I sat down and spoke about her ass-kicking character, Cinderella. I got the inside scoop on what it was like on set and work with the renowned actress, Natasha Henstridge. She also tells us which scene is her favorite and what challenges posed to her while on set. There’s no more to ‘Tale” about this movie except that Lauren acted flawlessly as Cinderella and I found the movie to be very entertaining but with a twist at the end. There are three movies that she is currently working on: Love, Lattes, and the Christmas Lights, The Devil's Retreat, and Viral Haunt. Be sure to check those out when they are released in theaters. Also, you can support Lauren by following her on social media and showering her with support.
Daz Crawford is one amazing and talented mother f**ker! In this interview, he gets really personal with me by providing all the details on how his acting career started and how he landed the role of ‘Lighthammer’ in the movie Blade 2. This guy is the prime example of why no one should give up on something that they want, ever… Blade 2 has such a great cast: Wesley Snipes, Ron Perlman, Norman Reedus, and Donnie Yen. Who would not want to be in a movie with those awesome people? Words cannot describe what the audience is fathoming over this great movie. Yes, I said it… Blade 2 is my favorite out of the trilogy. The first movie was good, but Blade 2 is better! The third, Blade Trinity, not so much. I just wasn’t impressed with the silly dialogue and puns. To me, it seems the actors tried too hard to impress the audience. But Daz Crawford as Lighthammer, that’s one guy you do not want to run into in a dark alley. With the great insight of the makeup, the stage, and the talent, Blade 2 will always be one of my favorite vampire movies of all time. I mean, it’s the perfect Blade movie. Overall, great interview with Daz Crawford! He’s such an amazing and wonderful person all around and I hope that he gets to act in a lot more movies. Is it selfish of me that I would like to see a spinoff of Lighthammer? Be sure to check out Daz in his upcoming movie, “The Viewers” when it comes to the theaters and if your kids like books, check out his published childrens books. Supporting actors and what they do is all they ask for and in return, they bring their best to the big screen.
Movie Synopsis: The lives of ten strangers intersect through a terrifying chain of events as a mutating fungus begins to spread through a small town wiping out everyone that comes into contact with it.  Almost like an anthology; short stories regarding a plague outbreak that evolves while killing its victims.  Haley Heslip, casted as 'Serena' in the movie, "The Spore" (2021) is such a talented actress nominated, in 2019, for Best Actress in the Royal Starr Film Festival for her performance as Mia in the Peter Poulos film, VOID. Very cool and laid back interview.
It’s time to face your fears as I was joined by Hannah Storey, who you all know as Rhonda Chambers on the prequel horror series, It: Welcome to Derry. With its terrifying atmosphere, expanded lore, and handling of difficult themes, Hannah tells us more about Rhonda, a member of the Pattycakes. After talking to Clara Stack about her role as Lilly, I had the absolute honor and pleasure to sit down with Hannah and speak to her about her character and her role in the series. Also, I cannot think of a better way to end my shows for the year. I love the energy that Hannah exhibited throughout the entire interview! There is so much that I learned about her character and the group, The Pattycakes. Obviously, the casting director chose the right actress to portray Rhonda. We both go into a deep dive about character arcs and themes along with Rhonda’s personality. Make sure that you check out the show, “IT: Welcome to Derry” still streaming on HBO Max and head on over to Hannah’s Instagram page to show her your support.
Stemming from the original movie from 1979, the general consensus states that the 2005 rendition is an over exaggeration. I will have to say that I disagree because it has proven to be a terrific movie with fast and furious energy, a lot of jolts that never linger, and the morbidly horrific images anchor the strong characters. One character in specific is Jodie Defeo, played by the talented Isabel Champ Connor who flawlessly delivered her role by submerging herself into this movie.20 years later and this movie still creeps me to the core! I sat down with Isabel to get to know her and what it was like to act in the reboot of the original 1979 film and what he had to say is priceless information. This being her movie debut, I have to say that Isabel was given the role of Jodie Defeo and she delivered! Being only 8 years old, she had to play a pivotal role in the film. Most fans wouldn’t know this because in the original 1979 film, Jodie is not what you think she is. However, I am glad the writers made the change, and the director chose Isabel for this movie, it made it much more believable. With that being said, Isabel has landed herself on the paranormal and supernatural map and I am honored to have sat down with her. I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did, and please follow Isabel on Facebook and let her know how well she did in the movie.
With Christmas just a few days away, I thought that I would bring you all some Christmas fear with the precise recipe for a holiday horror blend that delivers a fresh take on the 1984 original. This is a movie that you cannot hate; not only does it preach good tidings, but Santa kills Nazis and he also delivers satisfying brain-busting kills. I sat down with David and got the gist of the movie, and I am very happy to have the conversation with him. Getting to know him on a personal level and what he brought to the film is amazing. Check out the interview and let me know what you all think.Silent Night, Deadly Night is still playing in theaters, and I recommend checking it out.
In 1987 Clive Barker brought us Hellraiser and the Cenobites. In 2022 another movie was introduced to us, and it brought back the decades-old franchise with this 11th installment. With this movie closely following Clive Barker’s The Hellbound Heart, there is balance in beauty and horror and it’s not to be mistaken for a reboot, it’s quite the opposite. Hopefully my guest today can help us understand just that. I absolutely love this interview! Gorica and I talked deeply about this movie and her character, The Mother, and providing details about her theories regarding her character’s lore in the film and The Mother’s backstory. Does The Mother possess any human qualities? I am sure that the character in the story did at one point before being transformed into a Cenobite. However, I believe that The Mother has a connection with Hellbound: Hellraiser II and that is the infamous baby crying scene where it exploits maternal instinct. She also went into detail about the costume and makeup process; as she said, she felt like a car getting detailed with the airbrush. There is a new viewpoint brought to light by my guest: that this movie heavily deals with capitalism. Keeping an open mind, I am going to have to watch the movie again attempting to wrap my head around it. It might be true after all. Check out Hellraiser (2022) still streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
First, I would like to point out that the sequel is much better than the first movie due to the impressively accurate video game animatronics that actually look scary. Secondly, another thing I was very impressed with is Audrey Lynn-Marie’s flawless performance in which I believe that her entire personality won the audience.I am still in shock and in disbelief that I had the huge honor and pleasure to speak to Audrey about her role in the newest installment of the FNAF Franchise. We went into a deep dive, and we both analyzed her character and the movie; talking about physical challenges and what the dynamic on set was like with Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, and Josh Hutcherson. I cannot begin to imagine what it was like to work with legends in the movie industry. Overall, great interview! Audrey’s performance is paramount and I can see how her character will connect with the younger generation worldwide. The movie is still playing in theaters nationwide, I highly recommend getting off your butt to go watch it, you will not be disappointed. Also, make sure to stop by Audrey’s Instagram page and show her your support!
From a horror perspective, Jester 2 delivers where it counts. The kills are clever, cruel, and it’s a great representation leaning into the Trickster's dark magician theme. Illusions bleed into existence, traps unfold like deadly tricks, and every set piece feels designed to keep viewers on edge. It may not push gore to Terrifier levels, but it doesn't need to-the creativity behind the kills keeps things fresh. And with a breakout performance from Kaitlyn Trentham, Jester 2 leaves me curious and excited to see where the mask, the smile, and the nightmare go next. I had the honor and pleasure of sitting down with Kaitlyn and speaking her regarding her role as ‘Max’ in the newest installment of The Jester. We spoke about her character and what it was like to face The Jester and overcome his tricks of the trade. She also mentioned how she had to overcome and adapt not only the physical but also the psychological challenges in which we all know that those are the main elements of the film. I can tell that she connected with her character throughout the production on how she answered the questions and what she had to share. Overall, great interview with Kaitlyn and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in the future.
After watching the series (so far), I’d like to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and I am highly impressed with the acting. This fully embraces the fantastical scenes and effects for those horror and monster moments. However, one character really stands out, and that is Lilly Bainbridge – portrayed by the talented Clara Stack and her performance has been nothing short of paramount. If I said it was an honor and pleasure speaking with Clara, that would be an understatement. To sit down and get to know Clara and what it was like to play an exceptionally well-rounded character, these are the moments that are priceless.Getting to know Clara’s character, Lilly, who we all see rides an emotional roller coaster throughout the season, tells us that there is more than what we expected. I am certain, if there is going to be a Season 2, that Lilly will be one of the few that gets to kick Pennywise’s butt. However, with this being the prequel to the “It” movies, who knows what will happen during the inception. It: Welcome to Derry is still streaming on HBO Max (I realize that I said Netflix during the interview) and I am wrong, clearly, I got the streaming services mixed up. I highly recommend watching the series. It 100% grabs the essence of the era of the beginning.
I’d like to point out that this movie is suspenseful, well invented, and the acting is phenomenal. The directing and cinematography are both paramount and it feels like a true love letter that honors the horror genre and this is coming from me, someone who loves and appreciates found footage. I feel the creators and the actors truly understood what audiences expected from them and overall, this movie is well blended, and it is a solid film. What an exceptional interview! I had the opportunity to speak to Anthony about his role in which is now one of my favorite found footage films of this year. We did a deep dive regarding his character, the film, the challenges, and what it was like to be in this type of movie. Also, we may have digressed a little – maybe too much off topic but that is bound to happen every once in a while. Overall, I had fun with this interview. If you like found footage with a mix of true crime, this movie is right up your alley. I give two thumbs up and an overall scare score of 4.5 out of 5.
The Conjuring Franchise has brought us some of the best and scariest movies of all time and to include it’s last and final installment, a farewell to the Warrens. But it gets better. I sat down with Leigh Jones, who in my opinion, portrays the scariest character in the movie, Abner (also known as the “Axeman). Leigh is a very talented actor who delivered his role flawlessly. That would be an understatement in my introduction for the talented actor who brought you the role of Abner (also known as the “Axeman). Literally, Leigh’s character haunted my dream, and I am sure that he will haunt yours, too. What else can I say about this gentleman? You’re going to have to watch the interview yourself to find out. Overall, I am honored to have spoken to him. The Conjuring: Last Rites is a phenomenal movie, and I encourage you to watch it. Also, make sure you stop by Mr. Jones’ Instagram page and show him your support.
Everyone knows that I cannot stand mannequins and what history they have in horror movies, just looking at them are deeply unsettling and yet somehow John Berardo was able to resurrect that feeling tenfold in his new film. Ultimately, it’s about the cruelty of women, reckoning with the past and how cycles nearly always repeat themselves. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Jack and spoke to him about his role as a serial killer in this new psychological/slasher horror. Although the sequences had buckets of blood, this was an easy task for Mr. Sochet as he delivered his character flawlessly. This movie has proven to be nightmare fuel for anyone who gets scared of mannequins, especially those that are stored in warehouses. With the dark twists and constant shifting without the whiplash, I highly recommend watching this movie which is now available for rent on multiple platforms.
April Fool’s Day has always been a favorite of mine since I discovered it on VHS and to me, it’s always been the perfect anti-slasher, where no one in the film really dies (unless you count the film’s missing ending), and instead leans into the whodunit aspects that are driving the mystery. Deborah, who is a legendary actress who lit up the screens in Valley Girl and who continues to light up Hollywood with her talent and her magnificent smile. The Legendary Deborah Foreman has arrived on The Horror Heathen YouTube Channel and the South Jersey Horror Podcast! We spoke about her role in the 1980’s cult classic and what it like to play two separate personalities at the same time. Even though this movie was released almost 40 years ago, it still continues to thrive on television and most streaming platforms. If you have not watched this movie, I highly encourage you do so, you will not be disappointed. Deborah will be appearing at The Kings of Horror convention on November 8th, and you can follow, support, and show her some love & appreciation on Instagram.
Although this movie is considered meta-physical, it does have some Nightmare on Elm Street vibes and Black Phone 2 is definitely an effective sequel that delivers reinvigoration. The Grabber, just like Freddy Krueger, is able to wreak psychic and physical violence on people from within their dreams which makes it a genuine top shelf movie for me. What a cool interview! Talking to Maev and getting the inside scoop of this movie is priceless information… With the continuous praising of this film nationwide, I am very happy that I Maev got to be a part of it. Maev also spoke about a scene that never made it in the final cut! We spoked about her role as Barbara and what it was like on set to work with Mason and Madeliene; two more talented actors that should be recognized for their hard work and achievements. Black Phone 2 is still playing in theaters, and I highly recommend going to see it, you will not be disappointed. Please find Maev on Instagram, follow and support her!
I cannot emphasize enough of how V/H/S/Halloween continues to impress the audiences worldwide. Being part of such a spectacular franchise, this movie hit all of the Halloween aspects but with a little twist in each segment. Moreover, the actresses in the segment Coochie Coochie Coo deliver an exceptional performance.I am honored to have spoken to Natalia about her role in what I think is the creepiest segment in the movie. I have to say that she without a doubt delivered her role flawlessly and I am highly impressed with her performance. We went into a deep dive about how she mentally prepared for her segment, how the set was constructed, and how the special [practical] effects were applied to the characters. We also digressed and talked about nerdy stuff for a little bit: Dungeons & Dragons (DnD), role playing games, and more horror. Typically what we would all like to talk about and hear. V/H/S/Halloween is a rock-solid new chapter in the franchise and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. So, if you’re into what the fright flicks here are doing, this is one to be excited about. Prepare to be amusingly grossed out! Still streaming on Shudder and I highly recommend watching this movie. Also, make sure you tune into Natalia’s Podcast, “Shadows in the Smoke” and her other show, “Dagger Heart”
From what I have read online, it looks like this movie is tons of fun. From watching the preview, It’s like Poultrygeist meets The Thing with a touch of Evil Dead thrown in for good measure. However, I also get the feeling that the audience will have sympathy for the victims because of the on-screen chemistry. I had the opportunity to sit down with Jada and get to know more about her character, the movie, the special effects, the puppeteering, and much more. Seeing how that I misconstrued the release, I feel like a very bad host for not being able to watch the movie. But, as soon as the interview was over, I ran to my living room and started watching the movie and believe me, I was not disappointed. The actors in this movie are phenomenal! Everyone delivered their roles flawlessly and I am super excited to see two of my favorite actors in the same movie: Spooky Madison and Aaron Prager – these two will forever be in my Independent Horror Movie Hall of Fame. With that being said, this delightful treat of a movie is now streaming on Amazon. What are you waiting for? Watch it now!
I cannot stress enough on how well this movie is made… It is definitely a surprising shock to audiences with something new, especially for the horror genre. Even if you think you have everything figured out with the cryptic clues, there is an unexpected plot twist. With a little 1980s essence added to the film, it will grind your casual evening straight into your worst nightmares. What a wonderful interview! Speaking to Susan and Jocelyn regarding their roles in the film and gaining a better understanding of the emotional arcs from their scenes. Although this film now is considered a “cozy” horror movie due to its atmospheric aspects rather than graphic, I am sure there were no challenges for either of these talented actresses. With the unexpected plot twists, the back and forth, and the cryptic messages, it’s no wonder that the audiences gravitate towards this movie earning it a top spot in my favorites. Something about the 1980s that just grabs my attention and turns any of my evenings into a delightful horror movie night. Overall, I feel that the reaper terrorized the community enough to the point as to where everyone came together to put down the villain and that this movie doesn’t cut a new path for the slasher genre, but it does travel down the well-worn road in style.
Schism is a psychological horror which carries the perspective of woman vs. self as we follow Nola on a journey that has her battling to recollect her sanity. Overall, this movie is paramount; we never know which way is up, what is actually real, and what exists in Nola’s mind. The thrilling separation that she’s become a part of is something that consistently creeps into the film as a result of its extraordinary setting. What a phenomenal guest! Please join me as I sit down with Cait in her very first interview about her role as Nola in the psychological horror, “Schism” – as we go into a deep dive regarding the dream and nightmare sequences in which create a surreal and unsettling experience for the audience. Cait is also starring in a Western Television show called “Elk Horn” which is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
