Today's episode is a beaut! I chat with Kacey Grieves, who I first met nearly 15 years ago.  Some say she is crazy, yet, Kacey says she is the happiest she has been in years. Despite having every tool at her fingertips it wasn’t the obvious that got her to where she is today. Kacey Grieves, Clinical naturopath, holistic counsellor and business owner of over 20years has a passion to see women thrive thru the endless pressures of modern life and the excessive decision fatigue. A sort after guest speaker, award winning small business owner and all round down to earth realistic human, now runs two very vastly different business as a part of her “non-negotiable list” of happiness. Come and hear how Kacey juggles life, a ring business and her life long passion of natural medicine. Joining us today in the Work Mama Life lounge is the amazing Naturopath and creator of the Holistic Sleep Project, Georgina Windebank. I'm sure you will agree with me, that she is a force to be reckoned with after you listen to this amazing discussion about her journey from university student, to naturopath, to large scale domestic travel, to mama and sleep consultant.   In today's episode we dive deeply into the world of naturopathic parenting, how Georgina brings her philosophy of sleep into the everyday, and the way that she works when she is feeling a bit stressed. We also, of course, discuss how Georgina brings her naturopath and holistic skills into the world of sleep consulting in infants through to pre-schoolers.   As you will be able to tell, I feel like chatting with Georgina has given me a new best friend 😂... but in all seriousness, you will love her as much as I do! Enjoy the episode.   You can find out more about her on insta @theholisticsleepproject or jump over onto her website https://www.theholisticsleepproject.com
Have you ever wondered how the psychological quotients impact and make a difference to our motherhood and working mother experience? Today I dive into what psychological quotients mean, yes that's the IQ, EQ, SQ and AQ - and how this may impact on our mothering and our work mama life too.   This field of work is really liberating when we examine the impact of how we show up as human beings can influence our experiences within the world. When we as mothers come into motherhood and our working life with a deeper understanding of what it is to be us, and we can hold onto the relevant components of that, then we can also use a different lens or awareness on our mothering and our experiences.   I really hope you enjoy this episode, share it far and wide with all of your friends, or rate and review it on Apple or Spotify! And if you are are a Health Business Mama - then make sure you head over to www.draliyoung.com and check out all the new stuff I have going on over there!
Exploring how to manage our energy, be it as a mother, a working mother or a health professional is one of the hardest things to navigate. We are conditioned to show up in service continuously, yet  when we choose to look after ourselves... or put ourselves on the 'service schedule', there can often be perceptions or stories that it is a selfish act.   In this episode, I explore and share with you my meditation that I use when trying to keep my energy ready to serve. This is a meditation I was gifted in my early years in practice, long before I had kids, and was one of the inclusions that I came back to after my burnout. I really hope this episode provokes some thoughts about self care, your miraculous energy, and how much loving on yourself is beneficial to all of those around you.    If you are looking for a copy of my book and access to the nourish module from the Working Mama Reset, then make sure you access this at www.draliyoung.com/simple and I will shoot your book to you ASAP and immediate access, including recipes, to the nourish module will be yours.
This episode with the fabulous Dr Anthea allows us to dive into the role that our hormones play in our health, some common misconceptions we face as mothers with our hormones, and her simple tips if you are experiencing hormone related health concerns (or if you even think you might be).    Anthea is a Chiropractor and is a qualified Womens Health Practitioner. She works with both allied health practitioners upskilling them on the important work of hormones, and she works 1-1 with clients experiencing hormone related health problems. She is a powerhouse of knowledge, and I am proud to see her changing the face of the normal expected outcomes for women when we 'reach a certain age'.    As a mother, hormones have impacted everything from conception of my children, to breast feeding, to exercise, to sleep, to weight.... the list goes on. They are an integral componenet of our life, and understanding them really does help us to understand our self a lot better. I look forward to your feedback about this great chat.    You can find Dr Anthea at www.femalefundamentals.com or you can follow her on insta @dr.antheatodd
This is an episode for all of the healthcare and service provider mums out there... because it is something that floats close to home for me, and something I really wanted to share with you. There has been a lot of chat over the last few years about trauma and deep learnings in how this plays out with our soul, plays out with our service and plays out with our family members. Sometimes, like me, you have had traumatic experience at birth, or issues with burnout, there can be triggers and times where this can impact on your service.  This weeks podcast is a great ramble on the impact that trauma can have on our service... and some small steps we can do to support ourselves and those we are serving through it. Thanks to motherhood for opening up my eyes on this important topic! The doors to Working Mama Reset open on March 8th, jump on the waitlist today so you don't miss out. www.draliyoung.com/mamareset
Today we are hanging out with Ange Craze from Tully Skincare, with an exceptional story of resilience, IVF, and her emergence into working motherhood.   Ange began her career as a teacher, something she still enjoys to this day. But her journey to motherhood through 16 rounds of IVF and her dedication to family has created a strength and conviction in her soul that is glorious. In this episode we ask the question... no matter how much you desired your children... is it still ok to return to work?   This age old question of desire to mother, desire to have a career, and the parenting choices we make is dived into this week. We also explore how she has turned some tricky times with her daughter Tully's skin into the amazing product of Tully Skincare! Welcoming Emma Gilmour into the Work Mama Life world today, and you are all going to totally love it. Emma is from Hope Rising Coaching, and works with middle aged women to change the conversations and relationships with booze. Today we chat about the having it all myth... The pressure on women in mid-life is insane. We grew up with Madonna on our Walkmans, ‘Working Girl’ at the cinema and ‘we can have it all’ expectations. Fast forward twenty years and we have been all the things the mum, the wife, the career woman. Running full throttle on caffeine, booze and adrenaline for so long, we are literally ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown’. She is a counsellor and certified This Naked Mind, Gray Area Drinking & Tuning in to Teens™ parenting coach.  Her coaching practice is for parents who want to model a healthy relationship with alcohol for their kids.  She work's with people wherever they are on their journey with alcohol and whatever they want their coaching outcome to be: to take a break, to moderate or to go alcohol free.  Emma's mission is to get rid of the stigma surrounding seeking to change our relationship with alcohol. You will find no shame, blame or judgement in my coaching program. My goal is to help you take back control and find the freedom of making alcohol a small and insignificant part of your life.   Emma is currently preparing for her virtual 3 day retreat - and if after the episode this sounds like something that would suit you, jump in here to access it.  You can find out more about Emma at the usual places below.  https://www.instagram.com/hoperisingcoaching/ https://www.facebook.com/Hoperisingcoaching https://www.linkedin.com/in/emma-gilmour-36a9a922/ or go to www.hoperisingcoaching.com
