Description
Welcome to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor-In-Chief Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure!

For episode 256, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski behind the scenes working on Emmys coverage and adding more guests for season three of TV Topics. This episode is our wrap up of the Toronto International Film Festival. Sure, Myles also talks Peacemaker, but this is mostly yours truly going over TIFF. My coverage can be found here, but we get into everything I saw, what I didn't, and where we go from here. Throw in an Oscar nomination-centric question and we have plenty to do...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 256th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 233, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski behind the scenes preparing for Emmys and a new season of TV Topics, so look out for that soon. This episode is our long awaited video game movie ranking, which we do in a March Madness style bracket! Which film emerges victorious? You may be able to guess, though the Final Four is actually pretty wild. Kudos to Myles for putting together a unique list that led to some fun comparisons. In addition to some questions, we also talk about several new/upcoming releases, including The Accountant 2, Death of a Unicorn, Eric Larue (reviewed here), Freaky Tales, Friendship, Novocaine (reviewed here), and A Working Man (reviewed here). It's a lot to cover, but we do it in a reasonable amount of time, so you should all be tickled by this one...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 233rd one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 174, I’m joined once again by my co-hosts Myles Hughes and Steve Prusakowski. This time around, we take a mild break from Oscar nomination chatter to answer some questions, finish Joey's January, and do an Oscar recalibration. Plus, I give my thoughts on Argylle (reviewed here) and Lisa Frankenstein (my rave comes next week), along with the few Sundance Film Festival titles I took in. It's a loose episode, but still a very nice and beefy one, overall...

For episode number fifty three, we take a bit of a time out to just kick back. Joining me is Myles Hughes, Ryan McQuade, and Steve Prusakowski, and after answering a listener/reader question, we dive into a game. Specifically, it's Cinephile: A Card Game. Enjoy as we play a few rounds and, as always, get comedically on each others' nerves. It's a good time, and don't worry, next week will be NYFF talk, since I'll have seen The Tragedy of Macbeth.
As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our fifty first third to date. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 277, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This time around, we're talking new and upcoming releases. We also get into Return to Silent Hill (reviewed here) one last time, now that Myles has subjected himself to it, as well as Send Help. As for the new releases, Pillion (reviewed here) is the big one, with next week's debuts of Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie and Wuthering Heights taking center stage (reviews of both early on next week, alongside Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die). Throw in your questions and some DGA Awards chatter, mix it all up, and we have a very solid episode to share...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 277th one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 276, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode is centered on our reactions to the Oscar nominations, as you might imagine. The nomination list can be found here, with my updated predictions coming your way tomorrow. I also speak a little bit more about Return to Silent Hill (reviewed here) now that any embargo has well lifted. Throw in your questions alongside some video game adaptation chatter up top and it's a rather full episode...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 276th one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 275, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This time around, we're going through our final Oscar predictions before the Thursday morning announcement. My article on the impending nominations can be found here, while my finalized (unless I change my mind) picks are here. We also go back to discuss 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple a bit more (reviewed here by yours truly) now that Myles has seen it, as well as Dead Man's Wire (which I reviewed here). I also briefly chime in on Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (review forthcoming), as well as tease a future discussion about Return to Silent Hill. Throw in your questions and it's an awards-centric episode, befitting the time of year...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 275th one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 274, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This is our penultimate episode before the Oscar nominations are announced, so we're talking about what the Academy might do. Beyond that, we cover the Golden Globe results, which had a thing or two worth discussing. Beyond the awards, Myles has caught up on Hedda and KPop Demon Hunters, while I've seen The Rip (review coming tonight) and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (reviewed here). Throw in your questions and we hit a lot in a short amount of time. We talk about the Actor Award/SAG nominations, the results of the Critics Choice Awards, as well as our final predictions for the Golden Globes. In terms of new releases, I discuss Primate (reviewed here), while Myles has caught up on Lilo & Stitch, No Other Choice (my review is here), The Plague, and The Secret Agent. Plus, in addition to your questions, we're looking at my end of the year superlatives (found here), alongside 2026 films to anticipate (the list is here). It's a jam packed agenda this week, that's for sure...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 273rd one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 272, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode closes the book on 2025 and welcomes in 2026. We start by looking at my list of some of the 2025 films to anticipate, before turning our attention to Myles' takes on Marty Supreme (my rave review is here) and Song Sung Blue (my rave is here). Finally, we give out some awards, including our favorite horror movies of the year (list here), alongside some acting prizes (my picks are here), plus our top ten lists (mine is here). Your questions are featured as well, so it's a big one...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 272nd one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. For episode 271, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode is, in some ways, our Christmas spectacular. As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 271st one to date (here’s to many more). More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 270, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This time around, the Oscar gods have given us plenty to dig into. Earlier this week, the shortlists in a dozen Academy Award categories were revealed (seen here), so we get into that. The Academy also announced that the Oscars will be moving from ABC to YouTube after the 100th ceremony, which leads to a spirited discussion. I've caught up with The Testament of Ann Lee (review forthcoming), while Myles has done so with If I Had Legs I'd Kick You and Sentimental Value (my rave review is here), each of which gets a back and forth. Throw in your questions and it's almost exclusively an awards season focused episode...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 270th one to date (here’s to many more). For episode 269, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode features us going over the Golden Globe nominations, as well as a quick mention of the Critics Choice nominations. The Globe nods are where we focus a lot, given how it's the highest profile precursor so far, if not the most Oscar related. Speaking of the Academy Awards, Myles has caught up with both Hamnet (reviewed by yours truly here out of the Telluride Film Festival) and Jay Kelly (which I raved about here out of Telluride), so we debate those films, one of which he's far more a fan of than the other. Plus, he's chimed in on Eternity (my review out of the Toronto International Film Festival is here), giving us a host of movies to talk about. Throw in some of your questions, as well as an opening rant about the whole Netflix/Warner Bros. Discovery purchase, and we have a full episode for you all.As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 269th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 268, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This time around, we're discussing the beginning of precursor season, alongside some heavy hitter films. I recently saw Avatar: Fire and Ash, as well as Ella McCay, which I detail to Myles. He's seen Zootopia 2, so he can tell me about that one, while he's caught up on Nouvelle Vague (reviewed out of the Toronto International Film Festival here by yours truly) and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (which I also reviewed here out of TIFF). So, we finally have a more robust discussion of those two. Plus, the precursors have led to some predictions tinkering, which generates more chatter. Throw in your questions and we have a jam packed agenda/episode...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 268th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 267, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This is our Thanksgiving episode, featuring some Turkey Day awards season chatter. We also spend more time talking Train Dreams (my rave review is here) and Wicked: For Good (reviewed here), now that Myles has seen both. Throw in your questions and you can celebrate the holiday with some film talk, especially as the calendar gets set to turn over to December...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 267th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 266, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode is full of our takes on new/recent and upcoming releases. I've seen Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Wicked: For Good (reviewed here), while Myles has caught up with Keeper and Predator: Badlands. There's also your questions, as well as even some theater talk, making for a nice little agenda. As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 266th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 265, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. Apologies for the short one this week, but Myles had to hit the road for a trip, so we squeezed the episode in where we could. This time around, we've both seen some things and are eager to discuss with the other, hence not delaying the recording. Myles has gotten around to Bugonia (my review is here, alongside my interview with writer Will Tracy here), while I've seen In Your Dreams (reviewed here), The Running Man (reviewed here), and Train Dreams (review to come soon). Throw in some questions and this episode, while under an hour, is still pretty packed...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 265th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
For episode 264, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode was recorded early last week, so forgive us not having any up to date news/topics. As such, we opted to, after a discussion of The Great Gatsby (it's fun, I promise), look at some very early Golden Globe predictions. You can find my updated predictions for the Globes here, but in the meantime, this does start to get the conversation going. Plus, we bring back a fun game that we teased last episode...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 264th one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure! For episode 263, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode is our annual Halloween Spooktacular, though horror is hardly all that's on the agenda. Fright flicks include Frankenstein (which I reviewed here) as well as A House of Dynamite (reviewed here), though we also get into Blue Moon (reviewed here) and Song Sung Blue (reviewed here). Myles also has a horror edition of his Letterboxd game, so it's a very fun time.
For episode 262, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski working behind the scenes. This episode comes one before our annual Halloween Spooktacular, though we're still talking horror movies. In particular, we're discussing some cult classics like A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge and the Sleepaway Camp franchise. We also get into Black Phone 2 (reviewed here) now that Myles has seen it, while I detail my experience with the Jennifer Lawrence film Die My Love (which I like a lot but have some specific comments about). Throw in some questions and it's a nice sized episode...As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 262nd one to date (here’s to many more).
