The 2 Tiny Habits That Changed Everything Are your mornings setting you up to win, or quietly pulling you off track before your day even begins? In this honest and motivating episode, Amy opens up about the habit that started slipping back into her life, checking her phone first thing in the morning, and how cutting it out for the first 60 minutes changed her mood, focus, productivity, and peace. She also dives into a second breakthrough: the life-changing truth that what gets measured gets managed. From fitness and mental health to food, routines, and personal growth, Amy shares how getting serious about tracking again helped her make some of her biggest strength gains in years. This episode is a wake-up call for anyone who feels distracted, reactive, inconsistent, or stuck in patterns they know are holding them back. Small habits. Big shifts. Real results. You can eat perfectly at home all week, and then completely blow it the second you walk into a restaurant, hop on a plane, or show up to a party. Sound familiar? That's not a willpower problem. That's a system problem. And in this episode, Amy breaks down the strategy that actually fixes it. From the language shift that stops all-or-nothing thinking in its tracks, to the five tools you can deploy at any event — this is the episode to share with every woman you know who feels like she's either "on" or "off."   Key Takeaways: The Language Reframe The word "off" signals your brain to go all the way off. "Out of routine" keeps your identity intact-  you're navigating a situation outside your normal environment, not failing. This one shift stops the all-or-nothing spiral before it starts.   The Three Types of Out-of-Routine Meals: Planned & Aware: You knew it was coming, you walked in with intention. The food may not be weighed, but the behavior was aligned. This is something to be proud of. Unplanned & Reactive (The Cave): Something triggered you in the moment. The goal isn't shame- it's finding the pattern driving it. Completely Out of Your Control: Business dinners, work events, someone else's kitchen. You can't control the menu. You can always control your behavior, portions, and awareness.   The Strategy Toolbox: There is no one-size-fits-all. Pick the tool that fits your situation… but always bring something. Winging it is not a strategy. Food Rules: Written guardrails before you go. Think bumper guards at the bowling alley. Drink a full bottle of water per drink. Appetizers go on your plate only. Protein at every meal. These are not restrictions, they're protections. The Contract: Best for multi-day trips. Write out the things you most want to enjoy, the meals you'll anchor, and your alcohol and dessert parameters for the entire trip. Seeing "21 drinks over 7 days" in writing is its own intervention. The 90/10 Calendar Plot: 365 days x 10% = 36 full days off per year. That covers every family birthday, two weeks of vacation, and every major holiday… with days left over. Your Thanksgiving dinner is not the problem. Reflection Journaling with Self-Scoring: Score each day 1-10 based on alignment to your plan, not perfection. A 10 is not a perfect food day. A 10 is doing what you said you'd do. The Plate Photo Method: For meals you can't control at all-  take a photo before you start eating and after. Write a quick note on what you chose and why. Grade yourself. Awareness alone changes behavior.   The Mindset That Makes It All Work Every time you rise to what you said you'd do- even when you're tired, even when it's harder, you raise your internal temperature. You become someone who follows through. Every cave lowers it. It's that direct.   Ready to Build the Full System? Two walk-and-talk clips from Amy. First up: a friend visit turned Canadian adventure — 100-pound transformation, Muskoka paddleboarding, Niagara Falls, and a reminder that adults need to play. Second clip: a real-time lesson on the voice of compromise, why gamifying your habits protects your integrity, and how a half-liter of water at 4:50 p.m. became a win worth talking about.   In this episode: Jessica's visit: 100 pounds down, confidence oozing, and a full Canadian itinerary: Muskoka cottage, paddleboarding, Niagara Falls, Lululemon, and the weekly pizza night How Amy's clients become long-term friends: fat loss doesn't happen in isolation, it changes everything Vacation nutrition in practice: managing portions, prioritizing protein, and traveling with your protein shakes already packed Adults need to play: the value of being silly, present, and off the clock Croc walks explained: why wearing Crocs keeps Amy out of speed-walker mode and in a parasympathetic state The DAC boot camp inside LLYT: 14 days, building momentum win by win Gamifying habits: why tracking and measuring creates the internal accountability that willpower alone can't The voice of compromise: how we rationalize skipping small commitments and what it quietly costs us Personal integrity vs. habit tracking: it's not about the half-liter of water, it's about being someone who does what they say they'll do Erik's Friday night leg day: keeping a streak when every excuse is available When you up the ante on your DAC card, you already know it's the thing that will grow you Thank you for being here — whether this is your first episode or you’ve been with me since Episode 1.We’re not chasing perfect. We’re choosing anchored. If this episode resonated with you:Share it with someone who needs it.Leave a review.DM me on IG and tell me which lesson hit home. If you enjoyed this episode, make sure and give us a five-star rating  and leave us a review on iTunes, Podcast Addict, Podchaser and Castbox. https://lovethepodcast.com/f!it! Follow me on Social Media:Amy on IG https://www.instagram.com/amy_ledin/Amy on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/curlsandwhey/Lean Bodies Consulting on IG https://www.instagram.com/leanbodiesconsulting/Lean Bodies Consulting on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/LBCOnlineCoachingJoin Our Free Facebook Community https://www.facebook.com/groups/1504151319884719Resources: Join our group coaching program: LLYT https://leanbodiesconsulting.biz/looklikeyoutrainDownload My Free Meal Plan https://leanbodiesconsulting.biz/meal-plan-opt-in-146620Take The LBC Training Quiz https://leanbodiesconsulting.biz/training-diagnostic-quiz-pageLean Bodies Consulting Website for coaching https://leanbodiesconsulting.com/5 Common Mistakes Women Over 40 Make That Lead to Belly Fat https://youtu.be/oOA9YkE6A60How To Create A Health Character https://youtu.be/0nqJ8KiPmq8The Training Audit For Women Over 40 https://youtu.be/Y3VfEEV4C3MDownload your free copy of our meal plan that will test the deficit at 11x bodyweight: https://leanbodiesconsulting.biz/meal-plan-opt-in-146620 #5for50 #5for50FamilyEdition #AmyLedin #AmyLedin.com #ErikLedin #LeanBodiesConsulting #LBC #Kamele #KamelePerez #Kainoa #KainoaPerez  DISCLAIMER: The opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints expressed by the hosts and guests on this podcast do not necessarily represent or reflect the official policy, opinions, beliefs, and viewpoints of Disenyo.co LLC and its employees.
If you've been dealing with unexplained joint pain, chronic fatigue, full body inflammation, or symptoms that every doctor tells you look 'normal on paper' — this episode is for you. Amy sits down with Kristina, a 54-year-old LLYT community member, for a raw and real conversation about breast implant illness (BII), the road to explant, and what it actually takes to rebuild your health on the other side. Kristina carried textured PIP implants for 24 years before connecting her debilitating symptoms to BII. Her story-  from CrossFit athlete to bedridden on her Montana homestead, is a powerful reminder that your body keeps score, and that getting answers sometimes means going looking for them yourself.   What You'll Hear in This Episode Kristina’s implant history- textured PIP saline implants placed in 1999, and why she had no idea what was actually inside her body The symptoms that started showing up in 2018-  severe knee pain, full body aches, and why she dismissed them for years The 20+ doctors, steroid injections, MRIs, and naturopaths she cycled through before anyone mentioned her implants What 'seronegative RA' and 'full body inflammation' led her to Google, and how that one search changed everything Why BII tends to show up harder for women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, and how perimenopause, stress, and cortisol create the perfect storm What healed in 5 days post-surgery, and what took longer The body image work that came after: learning to live in a new body after 24 years with implants How she found her way to my husband, Erik at Lean Bodies Consulting, why she was put into a metabolic maintenance phase, and why she resisted it hard at first Resources Mentioned Explant documentary-  available on Paramount+ FDA Black Box Warning on breast implants (enacted October 2021) BII Facebook support groups — large private communities with shared stories, surgeon recommendations, and resources: https://www.facebook.com/groups/biiresearchandrecovery/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT https://www.facebook.com/groups/400894279268227/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT Full capsulectomy — Kristina’s recommendation: seek a surgeon who specializes in explant and removes the full capsule Amy's previous podcast episodes on BII Connect with Kristina Kristina is an open book and happy to talk to anyone navigating this journey. Reach out to her directly on Facebook or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/biikristinasjourney/ She will share her photos, her story, and her experience without judgment.   About Look Like You Train (LLYT) Kristina's full body healing didn't happen from explant alone. It happened because she addressed her health from every angle. She's been working with Erik at Lean Bodies Consulting inside the LLYT community, rebuilding her metabolism after years of chronic stress on her body. If you're in a similar season-  post-surgery, perimenopausal, or just feeling like your body isn't responding the way it used to, this is the work.   P.S. If this episode resonated with you, the best thing you can do is leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. What happens when a fitness coach with a complicated dental history, a stepmom from Turkey, and a no-excuses attitude decides to finally do something about it? She books a flight, packs four bags of protein powder and her resistance bands, and takes you along for the whole 12-day ride.   This episode is a travel journal, a mindset lesson, and a masterclass in staying the course when literally everything about your environment changes. From dental surgery in Izmir to an overnight bus to missing her flight home at Heathrow — Amy does not skip a beat. Key Takeaways: Defining success differently on hard trips isn't quitting, it's coaching yourself in real time. Two protein servings a day (shake + bar) can be your nutritional anchor when everything else is unpredictable. Medical tourism is real, it's legitimate, and for dental work especially, Turkey is worth serious consideration. Recovery matters more than training when you're sleep-deprived, healing, and running on adrenaline. Walking everywhere counts. Steps are training. Presence is the workout. The body you've built shows up even when you're not at the gym… like when you lift an 80kg pole and surprise a local.    Mentioned in this episode: SEEQ Protein Powder (clear protein that blends like juice — Amy's travel MVP) Barbell cashew bars Quest chips Izmir, Turkey — where Amy's dental work was done Kas (Kosh) and Fethiye — coastal towns worth visiting Istanbul- the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Galata Tower, Grand Bazaar Salgam- fermented beet and carrot drink, traditional Turkish gut health staple Simit- the $0.40 sesame street pretzel Amy will be dreaming about forever   Thank you for being here — whether this is your first episode or you’ve been with me since Episode 1. GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro are everywhere — and the research backs them up. But there’s a conversation almost nobody is having: what happens after? In this episode, Amy breaks down what these drugs actually do, what they don’t do, and what has to be built alongside them if you want results that last. This is not an argument against GLP-1s. It’s an argument against using them as a standalone solution.   In This Episode What GLP-1 drugs are and how they work (the actual mechanism) The BMJ review and what the data says about weight regain after stopping Why appetite suppression ≠ behaviour change (and Amy’s Fen-Phen story) The muscle loss problem — and why it matters more than most people realise “No man’s land” — why women who’ve been on GLP-1s for years still aren’t losing What you actually have to build nutritionally while on the drug Long-term use — and why habits are non-negotiable either way Why the drug is a tool, not the strategy — and what the strategy actually looks like   Research Referenced The BMJ — large review of weight-loss medication outcomes in 9,000+ participants Semaglutide clinical trial data (STEP trials) — avg ~15% body weight loss Tirzepatide trial data (SURMOUNT trials) — avg ~20-22% body weight loss Lean mass loss studies during GLP-1 use Thank you for being here — whether this is your first episode or you’ve been with me since Episode 1.We’re not chasing perfect.
A question from Instagram sparked this episode: "Are we just destined to diet our whole lives?" Amy breaks down why the answer is no — but why staying at your goal requires a permanent identity upgrade, not just a temporary program. This one is a mindset reset for anyone feeling burned out by the long game.   What We Cover: Why the "start and stop" diet model sets you up to feel trapped — and what has to change instead The difference between following a method and becoming a new person Why caloric deficits aren't forever — but nutrition intention is The driving analogy: why the effort gets easier with experience The identity thermostat — what it means to raise your "temperature" and make new behaviors your normal Playing the role vs. being the character — the real reason most people yo-yo What to do when life gets hard (hint: meal prep doesn't disappear — it just looks different) How to reverse engineer where you are now and get back to what worked   Key Takeaways: You won't be in a caloric deficit forever — but you will need nutrition intention for life. The amount of mental space it takes up shrinks as it becomes automatic. The goal isn't a destination. It's a lifestyle — like personal development, the work is ongoing and it's worth it. Your identity thermostat has to rise. What feels hard right now will become your new normal — but only if you keep showing up until it does. People who yo-yo are playing a role. People who maintain are that character. The difference is whether the foundational habits exist even on the hard days. Choosing to live this way is just that — a choice. No one is forcing you. Own it, and it gets a whole lot lighter.   Connect + Continue the Conversation: This episode goes hand in hand with the identity work we do inside Look Like You Train. You've started over so many times you could do it in your sleep. New Monday, new plan, same result. In this episode, Amy digs into the real reason healthy habits don't stick — and it's not a strategy problem. It's an identity problem. Amy shares the science of psychological distance and alter egos, walks you through how she created 'Cyborg' during her cancer journey, and gives you a step-by-step process to build your own Health Character — the version of you who makes healthy choices naturally, without white-knuckling it.   Episode Timestamps 0:00  The Airport Diet Coke Moment  —  Why one question changed everything 3:00  Segment 1: Why You Keep Starting Over  —  The 95% statistic and the brain science behind self-sabotage 8:00  Segment 2: The Science Behind Character Creation  —  Psychological distance, Beyoncé's Sasha Fierce, and the Cyborg origin story 15:00  Segment 3: Creating Your Best Health Self  —  The visualization + step-by-step character-building exercise 25:00  Segment 4: Naming Your Anti-Self  —  Why you need to call out Sloth, Lazy Lucy, or whoever keeps you stuck 30:00  Segment 5: The Index Card System  —  Your daily software update — how to use your character every single day 38:00  Obstacles & How to Handle Them  —  What to do when it feels fake, when you forget, or when your anti-self wins   Key Takeaways This is an identity problem, not a strategy problem. You know what to do. The gap is becoming the person who naturally does it. Your brain sees change as a threat — but it sees role-playing as safe. A Health Character bypasses that resistance. Specificity is everything. Don't write 'she eats healthy.' Write what's in her fridge, when she preps, and how she handles travel. Name your Anti-Self — not to shame yourself, but to recognize the patterns. You can't change what you don't acknowledge. The index card is your daily software update. 30 days of morning + evening review is the minimum to rewire the neural pathway. This isn't permanent acting. Beyoncé retired Sasha Fierce after 20 years because she became her. You'll become your character too.   Books Mentioned: Best Self by Mike Bayer - An approachable, life-coaching intro to creating your Best Self and Anti-Self characters. Great starting point. The Alter Ego Effect by Todd Herman - The deep dive — packed with psychology, statistics, and the science behind why this works. Highly recommended if you want all the proof.   Your Homework: Amy's three-step action plan from this episode: TODAY: Do one thing your Best Health Self would do. Just one. Then name it: 'That's [your character].' THIS WEEK: Build your index card. Name your Best Self. Write 3–5 traits. Name your Anti-Self. Write their patterns. NEXT 30 DAYS: Read your card every morning and evening. Ask the question. Choose your character. 📋   Download the Health Character Worksheet    If you keep “starting over,” it’s not because you lack discipline—it’s because your identity hasn’t caught up to your goals. In this episode, Amy teaches a simple method to make healthy choices feel natural: create a “best self” health character (your alter ego), name your “anti-self” patterns without shame, and use a pocket-sized index card as your daily “software update.” You’ll learn how psychological distance reduces resistance, how to build hyper-specific traits and habits, and how to use the question “What would my character do?” to win decision moments—especially during travel, stress, and social situations. Why do some people grow through hard things while others get stuck—especially with health and weight loss? This episode breaks down an identity-based approach to lasting change using character creation (alter ego work). You’ll build a detailed “best health self” with specific traits, routines, and situational behaviors (nutrition, workouts, hydration, travel, stress + sleep), then name your “anti-self” patterns as recognition—not condemnation. Finally, you’ll create a 3x5 index card you review morning and night as a “daily software update,” so you can ask in real time: “What would my character do?” and make consistent choices without white-knuckling. Are you eating in a caloric deficit… or do you just think you are? In this episode, we dive into one of the most overlooked (and most important) steps in any fat loss journey — testing the deficit — and why skipping this step is costing women in their 40s and 50s months of frustration.   What You'll Learn in This Episode: The concept of "testing the deficit" before assuming you need a reverse diet or metabolic rebuild. Most coaches automatically put clients through a reverse diet right away — but at Lean Bodies Consulting, nothing is assumed. The data tells the story. The Two Outcomes of a Deficit Test: Your body responds — great, you have proof, keep going. Your body doesn't respond — now you know you're dealing with metabolic adaptation and need a metabolic improvement phase before fat loss is even possible. How to Run the Test: Pick an official start date, follow your meal plan at no less than 95% compliance for two weeks, with no more than one off-plan meal per week. Treat it like a science experiment — change too many variables and the data means nothing. Evaluate at the two-week mark and repeat for two more weeks if needed. The Target Number: 11x your body weight in calories is the starting point. At that number, you should expect roughly a half pound to just over a pound of fat loss per week — steady and sustainable. The Personal Story: A candid look at my own experience coming to LBC eating around 1,400 calories at 140 lbs — maintaining at 10x body weight — and how I was coached to eat more before she could successfully diet. It felt counterintuitive, but it worked. Why Most Women Never Get Clean Data: Serial dieting, bouncing between plans, inconsistent tracking, and social media constantly pulling attention to the "next thing" means most women have never truly run a clean test on their own body. The result? Blaming a broken metabolism when the real issue is just a lack of consistent, structured data.   Key Takeaway: This test isn't forever. It's short, focused, and designed to give you clarity and direction — so you stop spinning your wheels and finally know exactly what your body needs. After more than a year away from the mic, I’m finally back. Last September, shortly after returning from a trip to Turkey with my dad and stepmom, I received news that changed everything: my cancer had returned — and this time, it had spread to my brain.   Everything stopped. And then… I went into shame.   I’ve always promised to show up authentically here. But when I was barely figuring out how to breathe through the news myself, I didn’t know how to coach, inspire, or even speak into the mic. So I hit pause.   This episode is not a recap of the past 200+ episodes. It’s something deeper.   Over the past year — while I wasn’t recording — I was learning. Living. Stripping things down to what actually matters.   In this comeback episode, I’m sharing the five biggest lessons the past 12 months taught me across all six pillars of F It: Faith Family Food Fitness Forgiveness Formula   These aren’t lessons I researched. They’re lessons I lived.   1. Faith Isn’t About Certainty — It’s About Anchoring in the Storm When my cancer returned, certainty disappeared.   The timeline. The plan. The control. Gone.   And for a season, I didn’t use my faith as an anchor. I was angry. Confused. Upset. My world felt like it was falling apart — and by many accounts, it was.   What I had to relearn is this: Faith isn’t believing everything will turn out exactly how you want. Faith is having something steady to hold onto when nothing makes sense. Storms are guaranteed. Being swept away isn’t.   And I’m still working in this area. 2025 was a year of survive instead of thrive. But I’m already feeling an awakening — and it’s rooted in faith.   2. Family Is the Real Scoreboard When everything else slowed down — the podcast, the business, the content — one thing didn’t stop. Family. Erik. My kids. The people closest to me.   I used to measure progress by output: Episodes recorded Clients served Content created   But when your health pulls the rug out from under you, you realize something fast: The real scoreboard isn’t downloads or dollars. It’s whether the people who know you best actually feel your presence. If life pulled you out of the game tomorrow, would the people closest to you know they were your priority?   If that question makes you squirm a little, that’s not guilt. That’s clarity.   3. Food and Fitness Are Medicine This year cemented something I’ve taught for years: Food and fitness are not about shrinking yourself. They are medicine.   During treatment, a calorie deficit wasn’t even a thought. What my body needed was nourishment: Enough protein to repair Enough fuel to support my immune system Enough energy to keep moving forward   And muscle? Muscle is medicine. The strength I built before treatment became my reserve. It carried me when my body was fighting. It gave me resilience when so much felt out of my control.   If you’re constantly cycling through restriction, overtraining, or under-eating, you’re robbing yourself of the very medicine your body needs. Stop training to punish your body. Start fueling it to survive and thrive. One day, you’ll need that resilience.   4. Forgiveness Starts With Yourself The hardest forgiveness this year wasn’t toward anyone else. It was toward myself.   When I stepped away from the podcast, I felt guilt. Like I was letting people down. Like I wasn’t showing up.   The internal voice was brutal.   But I had to learn this: Forgiveness isn’t excusing everything. It’s choosing not to carry shame forward.   “Yes, this season looked different.” “Yes, I couldn’t do it all.” “And I am still worthy.”   If you’re carrying guilt for quitting a diet, missing workouts, or not being as consistent as you wanted… Put the brick down.   Forgiveness isn’t a free pass. It’s freedom.   And you cannot move forward while dragging shame behind you.   5. Formula Isn’t About Control — It’s About Flexibility If you’ve been around me, you know “Formula” is one of my six F’s.   But here’s what this year taught me: Formula isn’t rigid control. It’s flexible structure. Discipline and willpower will fail you in a storm.   But systems? They carry you. For me, that looked like: Daily Agreement Cards Journaling A simple training structure Core meals I could rotate   Not as shackles. As anchors.   If you have no system, stress forces you to make a thousand decisions in real time. If you have a formula, you adjust — but you don’t quit. Build systems that work on your best days and your worst days.   Perfection isn’t the goal. Stability is.   What’s Next This is a new season of F It. More real conversations. More depth. More integration of faith, family, food, fitness, forgiveness, and formula — not as theory, but as lived experience. I started to feel like do I want to coach? Like questioning this stuff. Because at the time, like I'd already built my business, I'd started to scale I'd hired employees like we're growing. And now I'm like, the thing I thought I wanted isn't what I want anymore. And so one of the things an early mentor of mine taught me is when you have lack of clarity, you need to go get quiet and be by yourself for a while, and be undistracted. So now it's a running thing I do. I have quarterly what I call Jared sabbaticals. To this day, I still do these where about once a quarter a couple times a year, I literally go get an Airbnb somewhere by myself for several days, just so I can give my brain time to breathe and process all the things. Amy Ledin  0:40  What are you doing to create your dream life or your best self? Why do we see some thrive through challenges while others struggle? Welcome to F* It!, a podcast where I talk about the main Fs in my life that have helped me in creating my best self: faith, family, forgiveness, food, fitness, and formula. Hi, my name is Amy Ledin and most would say that I've had my fair share of struggles, whether it was placing my baby for adoption at 18, facing my marriage-ending affair, or battling stage four cancer for almost seven years, it's safe to say that I've been through a lot. Join me as I take you through my story, my journeys, and share with you the tactical strategies every single week that will help you thrive and overcome anything you face. That's right, I'm going to show you how to create a future self that you'll be proud of. So buckle up, get ready for the ride as I take you through my story and bring other guests on that have helped me along the way.  Amy Ledin  1:32  So this episode today has been a long time coming to be honest, because I have known of this person for a long, long time, we have been in the same circles, he was in Arete Syndicate with us and I've always loved his content. And recently, we were at an event together in person and so we actually did this episode together via video, both on the same couch. And it was so much fun, emotional, and you know, enlightening. So I am so excited today to have Jared Hamilton on the podcast. You may know him from his podcast, which is called Dieting From The Inside Out, which as I'm sure you were all of you are regular listeners to the podcast, you know that you are nodding your head going yep, this is exactly what Amy talks about all the time. And just the power of mindset, the power of, you know, everything starts from within. So I'm so excited to have Jared on he has been in the industry for a long time. And you know, he's one of the quote-unquote, good guys, one of those people that really gets it and knows that things all start from the inside. So I'm so excited for you to listen to this one. And you will see in the show notes, links to everything about Jared, if you want to go follow him, you definitely will love his content and will really, really resonate with it. So here you go.   Amy Ledin  3:01  I'm so excited to have you on because my podcast, I don't have a lot of men that come on. And I don't have a lot of men that talk about sabotage or fat loss. And I feel like you're like, definitely that's your jam. And that's your area of expertise. But I want to dive in with you, Jared, about just your past because I think that boys don't maybe communicate it. Men don't communicate struggles and I think a lot of people in general just assume that men don't care as much and they don't you know, so like, it's more a vanity thing for females. Right? So I listened to your story and I'm like, we have a lot in common. Take me through like, how did you get to here, the short and condensed version. Talk about your childhood first, take me through that.   Jared Hamilton  3:48  So, fair warning, it's ever since I started going to therapy and working through stuff, now it takes nothing to make me emotional. But basically, so I grew up so I'll be 32 on Saturday. Saturday. Yeah, this week.   Amy Ledin  4:03  Oh wow. This Saturday? Oh, happy birthday. My daughter turns 21 on Monday.   Jared Hamilton  4:09  Okay. Yeah. So here's like, a couple of days. So I'm 32. Basically, growing up I was so, grew up in Indiana, but I grew up basically a complete, most people I tell them this and people go, I would never have guessed or they're like, it makes so much sense. I grew up as a homeschool kid. So I had never seen the inside of a public school other than like, if we went to like a basketball game or something. But I grew up as a homeschool kid in a small town and I'll put it this way. Trying to think about how to word this. We'll just say it wasn't necessarily the best because I, my mom listens to this, I don't want it to be offensive by any means, but it wasn't the greatest. My parents did it because they wanted the best like they wanted the best for us. They didn't want you know, like kids going to public school system and bad shit happens like they were just, they didn't want that to happen. Grew up in a more religious household, all the things and so that's how I started out growing up as a kid. So I had my struggles, education was always a hard thing for me I struggled with like learning anything at all. Like, I almost wonder to this day if I would be diagnosed with a learning disorder, something like that. So went through, went through all that. But then now it's time for college. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was scared shitless because again, I've never done anything public. Like I've been homeschooled my whole life. Amy Ledin  5:32  It's crazy for me to think of now because you are so natural.   Jared Hamilton  5:37  It wasn't always natural, Amy. But no. Well, so what happened was, well, I left, one thing I forgot, I left out is, but the thing I think that truly saved the social communication side of things was when I was about 14, I got involved in martial arts, because again, I didn't play sports. I was the awkward homeschool kid that couldn't talk normal. Amy Ledin  5:55  And back then homeschool was like, you know, for the weirdos I'm just (inaudible).   Jared Hamilton  5:59  You're not wrong.   Amy Ledin  5:59  That's what people labeled it right?   Jared Hamilton  6:01  Yeah. Now it's like public schools have homeschool options now. Like, they call it remote now, but anyway, so but what I think helped me so much was the I got when I was like 14 involved in martial arts. Well, because then that's the only extracurricular I had. I literally just was at the school every day, I decided to take every art they offered. All of it. And then I would just do as much as I could like finish school and go to the school and train and do classes. Well then one thing led to another I was there for years ended up getting like black belts and all that stuff. But then my got my first coaching job. The guy that owned the place says, hey, we needed an assistant instructor to help teach warm-ups and private lessons and stuff. Are you interested? I go, sure. I'm here every day anyway, I might as well get paid for it. So started doing that. But then when I'm like a teenager, I'm doing private lessons with six-year-olds, 60-year-olds, teaching classes, all the things. So that was beginning stages of me coaching, those beginning stages me learning how to communicate and like as you talk to a six-year-old differently than a 60 year old and all the different things. And then that's where I found my fascination with physiology and like biomechanics and all that stuff. So that's when I went to college. And I'm like, well, I guess I'm gonna be a physical therapist had no idea I wanted to be, like, go that route. Actually, I didn't want to necessarily, I'm just my thought was, what can I do that makes okay money that I tolerate the most, which is not the way to approach being successful and happy. So that's what that's the route that I went. But I struggled like a motherfucker like I like it took me I was wondering like a nor

And I'm here to tell you do not waste your money ladies, if you are listening to this, it was not only the biggest waste of money, but ended up costing me more in that. What happened following the fat transfer is I ended up getting over 22 cysts in my breast. Amy Ledin  0:42  What are you doing to create your dream life or your best self? Why do we see some thrive through challenges while others struggle? Welcome to Epic, a podcast where I talk about the main apps in my life that have helped me in creating my best self, faith, family forgiveness, food, fitness, and formula. Hi, my name is Amy Levine. And most would say that I've had my fair share of struggles, whether it was placing my baby for adoption at 18, facing my marriage ending affair or battling stage four cancer for almost seven years, it's safe to say that I've been through a lot. Join me as I take you through my story, my journeys and share with you the tactical strategies every single week that will help you thrive and overcome anything you face. That's right, I'm going to show you how to create a future self that you'll be proud of. So buckle up, get ready for the ride as I take you through my story and bring other guests on that have helped me along the way. Amy Ledin  1:35  So you might have read the title and thought what the heck, I thought Amy did an entire podcast, all about breast implant illness, having an explant, and you know, the end. And you know what? You're right. I did do an entire podcast on that. And I would still encourage anyone to go back and listen to that. And honestly, I really debated even doing this episode because it is my personal life. And I know that there will be some judgment, I know that there will be some questions. But I have always said from day one that I want to be an open book, I want to share everything with you and be as authentic as possible. So with that is sharing this part of my life. And yes, I did get my implants put back in. So let's talk all about it, why I did this. Because I know that for some of you that have followed me, maybe you went down this path. I've had people that have DM-ed me about getting an explant and hey, I'll be the first to say that I went down that rabbit hole and I do believe that there is such a thing as breast implant illness. I don't think I was one of those people that was affected by it. So, let's just dive into it. Let me just kind of rewind a little bit. So if you are new to the podcast, welcome. My name is Amy Ledin. I am a 10-year cancer survivor. I am a birth mother, I am a divorcee, second marriage, I am a blended family mom. Like those are some of my and I am a fitness coach. And so if you've been along for the journey I've kind of touched on every single topic on here including breast implant illness. Now, I had implants for over, gosh,. 19 years I had two different sets. I got my first set after losing 90 pounds. I was probably a double A if that I had no breast tissue, had my, got my first set in and honestly did it for just my own confidence. I just wanted to feel good in my clothes. I wanted to feel and I really don't like using this word all the time. But I wanted to feel womanly. I wanted to feel feminine. I wanted to feel sexy in my own body. And I looked like a you know, 12-year-old pubescent boy or pubescent girl, maybe. And so I had decided to get implants, I really never had any issues. And I like to say that because now that we know with my chemo and the effects of that, that really was what was causing some of my issues. As we saw once you know, I got my implants taken out. So I had my first set for almost 10 years. And then you know, as most people know, with implants, they should be replaced, eventually. I was going in to have a tummy tuck. I've been very open about this. You know, so what, 10 years of having implants. You know, I'd made a goal that if I was able to keep my weight off for you know, five-plus years that I would treat myself to a tummy tuck I had more than a five-inch you know, in length like down a huge piece of skin that I could basically roll up in my pants, and it was just paper thin, you know, stretch marks, all that. And, you know, it was a personal decision that I wanted to save my money and have a tummy tuck. So while they were in there, we knew that we were going to replace the implants. And my biggest mistake, I will be honest, was then going a little bit bigger. So I went from having, you know, like 285, maybe 300 CCs, I think, is what I had the first time to 550. Now, let me just say, I didn't know that they were 550 CCs, they were actually, on my card, 450 but when I got my explant, they weighed my implants, and they had been overfilled to 550. So I had those in for about five years, maybe six years. And then I started hearing about breast implant illness. Now, as I said, at the beginning, I know that it is a real thing. There are 150,000 plus people in a group on Facebook called breast implant illness that many of these women share their stories. And as I started to read through some of the symptoms, and as I said, in my last podcast, I really did not have any symptoms other than neuropathy. didn't sleep very well at night. But keep in mind, I also was on a lot of compounds, including chemotherapy and chemotherapy, one of the biggest ones with that is having neuropathy. But with me getting ready to have lung surgery, back in 2021, I believe it was, I knew that if I was going to be going in to have this big lung surgery, this might be the time since I'm already going to be put under anesthesia, I would just get the explant and just do it all at once. And you know, I didn't want to have all these symptoms and deal with all the things that others were dealing with, in addition to honestly, my implants just felt so big, you know, and really just, you know, they weren't, they weren't serving me anymore. And I knew that I did want to at least eliminate what I thought was neuropathy from the implants. Now keep in mind, about a week prior to my surgery, I ended up finding out that I was in remission, like nothing short of a miracle. And so they stopped my chemo then, about about a week before my surgery. Now keep in mind these things, you know, can stay in your system. And you can have, you can actually even have neuropathy long term from chemo even after you stopped taking it. But I got taken off the chemo. And the reason why I mentioned this is because now looking back, I'm sure as I was getting the explant, in addition to like, also removing all of these, you know, compounds from my body, of course, I woke up from surgery feeling amazing. And I did, you know, I slept well for, gosh, that first week afterwards, it was like I was, you know, in heaven feeling so good and I really had no regrets. And honestly, if I had the symptoms that so many people have had, I would definitely suggest that you go and get it checked out and consider getting an explant.   Amy Ledin  8:16  Now fast forward. And I've shared this on our social media, you know, probably about a year ago, I had posted a kind of post an annual post, just like on the anniversary of my explant just talking about it, just putting more, you know, awareness around it. And someone had posted saying, hey, you really should check out this other group. I know you're in the Breast Implant Illness group, but check out this other group called Breast Implant-Explant Regret. So I decided to check it out because, you know, full disclosure, and I like I said, I always want to be completely open and honest with you, I had a really hard time going from having implants for you know, 19 years or just having boobs, to going back to not just like nothing, I'm talking, I was flat as a pancake, like no breast tissue, because when they did that explant, they also did a lift took off any excess s
Coach and Therapist, Isaac Ho shares the journey of uncovering the hidden links between past traumas and physical health issues. Through personal experiences and professional insights, this episode sheds light on how unresolved emotional pain can manifest in the body. It delves into the transformative power of holistic healing practices, emphasizing the importance of addressing both the mind and body for true health.   Key Takeaways:Past traumas and unresolved emotions can manifest as physical symptoms.Working with emotional energy can lead to significant health improvements.Addressing emotional roots can significantly improve chronic physical ailments. “They say that love is the opposite of hate. Right? They're on the same spectrum, though, because you can't know love without hate, just like you can know pain without pleasure. And so the same thing applies in emotion is that the emotion needs to be regulated for the body to be healthy.”  - Isaac Ho BIO:Isaac Ho, a trainer and therapist for almost 20 years, started a journey to repair his health after facing personal troubles despite regular medicine. He learned first-hand that pills had limits, sending him on a life mission for true wellness. Learning from experts worldwide, such as trainers and doctors in New Zealand, France and Croatia, he gained deep knowledge from real life to help many people escape pain and find health. Like you keep saying you don't want it, but you're not replacing it with something specific. And so, you know, people that are like, why does everything bad happen to me? Isaac Ho  00:11So for me, when I hear that my immediate thought is the failure was on her to not give you a replacement. Okay, and she didn't have to give it to you, but as your guide, as a person giving you information, you and I had this talk about cancer, right? It's like, wait, were they giving you glutathione while you're on chemotherapy? We don't burn inflammation down when you try to kill something. Right? And so like, the guide, should be guiding you into thinking about these things. And so if she's like, I'm going to do energy work and remove something, then she should also be informed (inaudible) that you need to replace it. Otherwise, you're setting that person up potentially to spin really hard. Amy Ledin  00:54What are you doing to create your dream life or your best self? I know I say this a lot on the podcast but I am very excited today because I met this gentleman at an NCI conference and between Erik and I, we were blown away. And it takes a lot to impress Erik, like there's not a lot that really gets to him and they were geeking out over everything. And so I immediately knew that I needed to be besties with this person. And then we, from that we've taken some deep dives. And so I'm bringing something special that I've never brought to the podcast. And that is we're gonna do a series together because there's so much information that this gentleman has. And I just was like, I know that my audience would soak it up, and then we'll go from there. So today I have Isaac on the podcast, Isaac, welcome. Isaac Ho  04:10Thanks for having me, Amy. So nice to be here with you. Amy Ledin  04:13And, you know, we're gonna have video of this, too. So those of you will also be able to go on to YouTube and watch the video along with of course, coming on to any podcast platform and listening. But today, we're gonna dive into an area that you know, like I've said from the get-go, I am trying to create my best self. And I started this as an imperfect person. I think we all are and that I am going to be the guinea pig a lot of times on my own podcast in what helps me create my best self. Those of you that have, you know, been along for the journey. I've had a lot of trauma in my life I've had, I've never really labeled myself someone with PTSD, but now I'm learning that I definitely have had some PTSD. And I've not always been the best at managing it. It has affected my health, there's a lot of connections to cancer to autoimmune issues and it's not an area of my expertise and so why not bring someone in that can also help kind of take away some of the beliefs around what we're going to talk about, because we're gonna be talking about the energy of emotions. And, you know, coming from my religious background, there's a lot of stigma around energy around even like Chinese medicine and things like that, because we've been raised in this like Western medicine world. So I want you to go into this podcast one, with an open mind and knowing that some of the things will, everything that Isaac is going to be teaching you, there's real-world practice of it working, it helping and it really changing your life. So I'm excited to dive into this with you, Isaac. Where do we start? Talk to me about the energy of emotions, because I know this is going to be a three-parter here where this first one, we're going to dive into this and then we'll be going into the physiology of emotions. And I think I know a little more around that area, because I've seen certain things that I've put into practice. But energy-wise is, you know, when we met one to one, this is a whole new game for me. Isaac Ho  06:15Right. Yeah. So my background is really being a personal trainer. So to me, everything was very physical. And like I was listening to your podcast, and you sharing your story about I was telling my wife yesterday, I was like the thought of you running stairs in between cooking food, just so you could get enough calories. I said picture that I was telling my wife, picture that like imagine being that like manic, I was like I was blown away, I was almost speechless. I was like the dis-ease someone would need to have to be driven to that. I would say you watch them do something physical, but there's actually a mental-emotional driver. And so it took me a long time to really understand, like, I started personal training clients, at 17 years old. That was really my experience. And so to me, everything was physical. It was kickboxing, it was hitting, it was lifting weights, I did not believe in anything woowoo. And so like, this comes from my own personal experience. And then I think what this will do, I'll share this story with you is it will help you kind of understand, I think, where people run into issues when they are only focused on the physical. So I was at this event, and at this point, everything to me was physical. So I was like you lift weights, you eat a certain amount of protein, you do all these things that you know, as a trainer to do. You do your mobility, you get in the sun, you think about some holistic things
