Happy Super Belated New Year! We're back with a new episode and it turns out that when you don't record for a while a lot happens. As you might have guessed from the title we talk about USA Hockey's decision to prohibit trans women from playing in women's leagues. We also talk about Britta Curl-Salemme's obvious transphobic nonsense. We also talk about some fun stuff in the women's game, preview the Olympics, the Rangers starting their sell-off, Patrick Kane taking the USA leading scorer crown and a whole bunch more. Thanks for listening, everyone!
It's the winter holiday season and we're putting out content for you to fall asleep to on your red eye. In this one we talk about the impending ECHL strike, the Quinn Hughes trade, the Milan Lucic Memorial Olympic Arena (In Milan) ice being too small, early season PWHL and, the biggest hockey story of the year: Heated Rivalry. Thanks for listening!
Hi there, Handsome Friends. Episode 119 is up. We talk about the start of the PWHL season, new info on Jack Hughes' injury, OHLers taking head shots and, as always, more reasons why the Blackhawks should change their name and racist logo. All this and a plethora of silliness contained within. Thanks for listening.
Episode 118 is here. Of course, Ovi scored #900 and PWHL Vancouver and Seattle got monikers since we recorded, but we've still got lots to talk about including Ryan Kesler and Arthur Kaliyev being the opposite of model citizens, more big contract extensions, lamentations over an already boring free agency period, Matthew Knies twerking, Mitch Love getting fired, and a whole lot of other nonsense. Thanks for listening!
Episode 117 is upon you. In it we're talking about early season NHL, next summer's off-season already being ruined, hockey themed romance novels, inopportune places to urinate and all the other fun and fancy in hockey, including Brad Marchand's return to Boston. Thanks for listening, everyone!
Hi there, Handsome Friends. We're back with a new episode in which we dive into the shady dealings of the Edmonton Oilers as well as Michael McLeod's potential new home which is, oddly enough, not a prison. We've also got Kaprizov's new contract, Barkov's bum knee, Jordan Staal, Taylor Hall and Electronic Arts' long awaited move towards state sponsored extremism. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we loved recording.
It's another episode of a couple people out there's favorite hockey podcast. We've got a ton of random goalie news, including Marc Andre Fleury being not so retired. There's also Kirill Kaprizov's contract, Mitch Love's unknown dark shenanigans, the very well known shenanigans of the Canadian 2018 World Junior team Anze Kopitar announcing his retirement (at some point in the future) and The Athletic once more reminds us that even with anonymity NHL players are still kinda boring. Less so, but still boring. Thanks for listening, everyone!
Here to beat the sorrows out of your hockey summer doldrums, Episode 114 is upon you. We, of course, spend a lot of time talking about the verdict in the Hockey Canada sexual assault case. But we've also got stories about bears, sharks, dragons, mammoth on mammoth hate crimes and the Red Wings finally raising 91 to the rafters. Thanks for listening.
Hey hey! We're back with more content. It's all your offseason happies with PWHL and NHL drafts, where only one had awkward zoom calls on air. NHL free agency has come and went and Jake spent most of it doin' a snooze on the couch. We've also got the Gavin McKenna sweepstakes, a new CBA and Nick Tarnasky making finger guns with a closed fist. Thanks for listening.
Trophies have been handed out in the NHL and the PWHL and the expansion draft has happened in the latter. We recap both tournaments, some of the big moves in both leagues and wax poetically about Brad Marchand. We also wonder what the hell Dallas is going to do with zero cap room, believe Nastya Ovechkina when she says that her and her husband will only live in the US for one more season, and definitely do not tell you to go on the internet and vote for the upcoming New Mexico ECHL team to be called the Tarantula Hawks (Vote for the Tarantula Hawks, brought to you by Make New Mexico Tarantula Hawk Again.
The playoffs, much like miracles, are all around us. The PWHL has reached the finals, the NHL the conference finals, and a battle between Russian hockey players to see who can be the worst driver, featuring Ilya Kovalchuk and Matvei Michkov, might be just now heating up. We've also got some coaching hires, some GM hires, and you can find out what, exactly, the dumbest thing Jake has done recently is. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy!
Welcome to Episode 110 where we've got Jake talking about Hook being one of the best movies of all time and also hockey. We cover the PWHL Seattle expansion, the 2018 WJC sexual assault trial, Joel Quenville somehow still getting interviews and, of course, the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, aka Sports Valhalla. Thanks for listening!
Ep. 109: Torts Reform

Ep. 109: Torts Reform

2025-04-1901:20:17

Welcome to Episode 109. Episode 108 was eaten by Mothman so we're skipping that one to bring you all of our prattling about some guy breaking some other guy's career scoring record, the Stanley Cup Playoffs, PWHL expansion and a wild couple of months for the Rangers. All of this and our usual spate of random digressions. Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening.
Ep. 107: 4 Nations, 1 Cup

Ep. 107: 4 Nations, 1 Cup

2025-03-1301:45:34

It has been a while, so we're talking 4 Nations Cup, NHL Trade Deadline, and Aaron Ekblad, more like Aaron Did an Ekbad, amirite? We've also got PWHL fights, the death of the Canadian dollar and Elbows Up, Canada! Thanks for listening.
Looks like we've got another episode for you all. We lost some audio around the Rantanen and JT Miller trades so you'll have to assume we know what we were talking about and it was just as funny as it was insightful. In things that you can listen to, we talk about Ovi's pursuit of Gretzky, Connor McDavid's malfeasance, (sigh) Tony DeAngelo's return to the NHL, Alex Nedeljkovic's big night, and lots more. Thanks for listening.
We're back from our holiday siesta to bring you all sorts of chunky hockey goodness. We're talking about how the US won its second consecutive World Juniors. We've also got PWHL, lots of talk about drive thrus, Frank Vatrano, skiing inside of NHL arenas, dangerous beer specials, and the suddenly smoldering Detroit Red Wings. Thanks for listening.
We're back and we've got a whole lot to say about Columbus. We recorded this before they cancelled their Russian Culture night, but everything said here still stands. We've also got some hockey trades, the first tastes of PWHL Season 2, Patrick Laine's return, Radek Faksa's close shave, and more teddy bears than you can shake. Thanks for listening!
Ep. 103: Sweater Weather

Ep. 103: Sweater Weather

2024-11-1501:11:30

Hi there friends. Here comes winter and here come the PWHL sweater releases. Jake and Evan agree that Ottawa's logo still looks silly, but the jerseys are nice. The Toronto Taylor Swifts are a thing now, as are Tessa Bonhomme and Julia Tocheri as employees of the media arm of the PWHL. We've also got raves about Winnipeg being awesome, the Stars outscoring their local football counterpart, and perhaps too much talk about Georgia O'Keefe. All this and a whole lot more. Thanks for listening!
Right when you think we're done, we're back with a new episode. In this one Evan recaps his trip to see Jagr in Czechia. We also talk about the start of the NHL season, Nikki Glaser swagger jacking Jessica Campbell, a requiem for the loon pads and Alex "Definitely Not Jason" Meruelo is still insane and nobody wants him around. All this and Jake and Evan's list of fashion brands to avoid.
Not 100B, but episode 101. We'll get to 100B at a later date, but we had too much hockey stuff to throw at you. We obviously talk about the tragic deaths of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Other topics include PWHL team names, successful offer sheets, Roberto Luongo showing up to your beer league game and a whole bunch of other madness. Enjoy!
