Description

Artists, healers, witches, and sisters Jo Mosser and Corina Dross of Abacus Corvus offer this monthly podcast (with bonus astro weather reports every New Moon) to accompany our yearly calendar. This year's calendar, Beloved Stranger, is all about encountering the unknown and unknowable in ourselves and others. Read the fables here: http://abacuscorvus.com/fables. Then listen to our episodes every third Sunday of the month. We want to hear your voice on our podcast this year! Follow us on Instagram to find out how: @abacuscorvus (and individually @jocelyncorvus and @corinadross).

We figured out how to do this! Gone are the days of our edited, scripted podcast but we are now in a glorious epoch of doing a casual, unscripted livestream and posting the audio up here a few days later. Listen in to the audio from our first ever virtual treehouse for the January spell of 2023's Home, where we discuss togetherness magic, the Aquarius New Moon, and non-linear time.  Next livestream will be on February 19th at 1pm EST (US) if you want to join! Follow us @abacuscorvus on Instagram or subscribe at www.abacuscorvus.com to get the URL when it drops. And for extra materials and ritual prompts each month, join our Patreon.  Thanks for listening!
For our very last episode of The Hum, we question New Moons as a time of spiritual hustle, propose a new way of attuning to the New Moons, sacrifice some sound quality (a few bumps and rustlings) in order to get this out on time, and say goodbye to this podcast and hello to new ways to connect in 2023! If you want more astro weather highlights every month, you can join Corina's Patreon  and if you want to know what becomes of this proposed new New Moon project you can follow them on Instagram @corinadross or subscribe to their astro newsletter. And if you want to keep up with Jo and Corina together, check us out at www.abacuscorvus.com and @abacuscorvus on Instagram.  We thank every one of you for supporting us and this podcast over the last two years and look forward to connecting with you in other ways!
We've reached the end of our fables and the end of the 2022 calendar in this combo-pack double episode. Tune in for conflict management tips, spiritual math lessons, and Jo and Corina reflecting on the end of this podcast experience. You can keep up with us at www.abacuscorvus.com and @abacuscorvus on Instagram, and stay tuned for our new livestream experiment in January 2023! Thanks for coming with us all this way! We appreciate you!
In this chapter, we chat about conflict, rissssk, the intimacy of knowing our shadow sssssides, vi-o-len-ceh and sssssibilance. Shout out to Resmaa Menakem's book Rock the Boat: How to Use Conflict to Heal and Deepen Your Relationship. And thank you all for your patien-ceh as this is a very late insssstallment!
We are in eclipse season, with one eclipse falling on Nov 8th, which is Election Day here in the US (which I call voting day on the podcast for some reason?). Listen for tips on how to stay well and grounded during these wild times! For more astrology you can find Corina at flaxandgold.com and @corinadross on Instagram.
There's a lot of astrological kerfluffle this month, against the backdrop of some beautiful support for thinking and talking it through. My apologies for the poor audio quality this month! My house is in some creative disarray and I don't have access to the closet I usually sequester myself in! For more astro insights, find me at www.flaxandgold.com and @corinadross on Instagram.
In which we explore what is both wonderful and terrible, the importance of being able to say you don't know, and what we learn when we look at the parts of ourselves that make us cringe. Our new calendar is in print! Find it at: abacuscorvus.com/shop
In which we celebrate Virgo season, cover the upcoming Mercury Retrograde, and take note of how Mars just keeps squaring everybody. For more astro insight, check out flaxandgold.com or Instagram @corinadross.
In which we explore the other side of the mountain. Links we mention include: https://www.abacuscorvus.com/shop https://abacuscorvus.com/podcast

In which we imagine ourselves within a mountain and hear an unlikely underwater love story. Links! www.abacuscorvus.com/podcast to leave us a voice memo www.abacuscorvus.com/shop to buy some treats!
This lunation brings us opportunities to heal the places where we've become rigid and dogmatic, and the month of June is a bright spot of calm in an otherwise hectic astrological year. May it bring you all you need. For more astro insight, follow Corina @corinadross on IG or book a reading at www.flaxandgold.com.
In which we discover incidental courage and loneliness within a group. <3 abacuscorvus.com/store instagram.com/abacuscorvus etsystrike.org
This New Moon holds a lot of stories and brings us into a month full of Neptunian, watery energy (with some Plutonian undertones). This month we get into the impact of the Venus-Mars conjunction on our relationships, and best and worst days for processing + creating. For more astro info, find Corina at flaxandgold.com.
This month's fable brings us a whirling conversation with swifts, and our podcast meditates on that whirling feeling of urgency familiar to us all. This is also the time to grab a calendar if you haven't already, as we'll have a few returned from our distributor and up on our Etsy! And for notes on the wild astrology happening in the world right now (specifically the Pluto Return and Neptune Opposition of the United States) you can check out Corina's Patreon or our shared Patreon.
This month's astrology has a lot of twists and turns, and we cover: What can activism look like when we feel overwhelmed, pessimistic, or isolated? How can this month's astrology help us center ourselves between self and other, between being too selfish or too self-sacrificing? What the hell is going on with the US right now? And is the whole year going to feel this way? All this and more in this edition of The Hum. For more astro insights, check out flaxandgold.com. And to leave us a voice message for The Hum and the Holler, head to abacuscorvus.com/podcast.  If the free voice recording thingy doesn't give you enough time, you can always email us a sound file: abacuscorvus@gmail.com.
And we're back! Thank you all for your patience with this one—we needed some time before we were ready to record again, and when we were we found ourselves diving deep into the main themes of this year's fables: uncertainty, the unknown, our shadow sides, all that good stuff. We are VERY EXCITED to announce we're asking for listeners' stories this year. We've got some themes for each month posted on our website—click here if you want to share with us. We'd love to hear from you. And finally our apologies for the rough sound quality on this parts of this one! Jo's mic had some issue and we had no time to rerecord, so you're getting it a little rough around the edges but full of love for y'all.
We've made it to the end of our year-long riddle! This month's spell is the solution (or final clue?) and we take you through the entire riddle, moving from the scatalogical to the mystical and back again, for a deeply embodied dive into our philosophy of healing. Thank you everyone for joining us on this adventure, our first podcast! We're going to be back next year under the same title for a very different calendar: Beloved Stranger. (If you haven't bought yours yet, make haste! Our supply is dwindling!)  Also, If you have thoughts about what you loved this year or want to hear more of next year, do get in touch!  Big love from Corina and Jo!
