The Fantastic Four are back! In what has been a wild week of sports, TFF are on hand to help dissect. This episode focuses on the Premier League, with five fixtures remaining we take a look into the battle for European places and the relegation battle. We begin by discussing the tight race for Champions League places with Everton, Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham, Chelsea and Leicester still battling for third and fourth. We then talk relegation battle, analysing the teams that could still go down and whether West Brom and Fulham still have a chance!
Join Alex, Dan and Morgan as they welcome their first ever Goalkeeper onto the show, Swiss/Canadian International Jayson Leutwiler. They dive into Jayson's remarkable story about playing in FC Basel's youth system and the incredible winning mentality and environment that existed there, followed by a Make or Break point in his life where he thought his football career was done due to a lack of interest in Switzerland, but a freak story led to interest from Middlesborough FC (this moment still motivates him over a decade later!), which helped kickstart his career in England, where he has gone on to have plenty of success. Whilst playing for Shrewsbury, he helped them achieve promotion to League 1 by setting a new club of 23 clean sheets in a season, at one point having the most clean sheets in all of Europe. We also have some interesting conversations about weaknesses in relying on habits/rituals and what songs he uses to motivate himself, and finally hear about his experience playing for the Canadian National Team, along with the exciting future of this young squad. Of course as always, we test his knowledge in the No Name Football Game, how will our first ever goalkeeper get on in the infamous game!?
Join the whole crew as they sit down with one of the most distinguished figures in Football in the Middle-East, Mehran Rowshan. They talk everything from his experience working at Arsenal's Soccer School in Dubai, to moving on and starting his own Football Club Alliance FC, currently serving as the Director of the Club. He shares amazing insights such as what went on inside Arsenal's 'inner-circle' around the time Wenger was arguably forced out the club, as well as breaking down why he doesn't particularly like Jose Mourinho. From a coaching perspective we also discuss topics such as earning respect, the importance of mentality, setting a standard at a club and the idea of reference thinking. In reality this episode could've been three hours, but we were able to engage in a fascinating 70 minute conversation that we guarantee the whole TFF Community will absolutely love.
