With Biden now in the Whitehouse, the UK is on the hunt for a trade deal with the US. When the bust of Winston Churchill was removed from the Oval Office under Barack Obama, Boris had something to say about it. Now the bust has been removed once again, Boris is silent. We can see the PM is trying to butter up the US President to seek a trade deal, especially as we’ve exited the EU. The only downside to this arrangement is that Biden was not a supporter of Brexit. The question is, will the UK get a favourable deal with the US or will there be many caveats associated within the deal as Biden is a massive globalist.
With Britain now out of the EU, it seems remainers are on the attack trying to bring down everything that celebrates Britain. The key question is, why?. Remainers have reacted to a £120 million nationwide festival to celebrate everything British in 2022. This festival coincides with the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. The SNP say it costs too much to put the event on, yet they would put on a second referendum regardless of the cost. The remainers don’t want Britain to thrive, and they seem to be willing to do down Britain just because the UK left the EU. What’re your thoughts, should the festival of Britain go ahead?
With the UK Chancellor cutting red tape around the financial sector, this may be great for Britain. Still, it may well go against the level playing field clauses in the new future relationship agreement signed last December. The level playing field terms states that Britain can’t become more competitive than the EU as it would be deemed an unfair advantage to Britain. Doing so will end in sanctions. Will Boris be strong enough to facedown the EU to protect the London financial system?
Fishing is still a very contentious subject in the realm of Brexit. The deal served to the UK fishermen wasn’t a good deal, nor was it taking back control of its quotas as promised.
Today the French-backed up that sentiment saying: “They (UK) wanted all of their waters to themselves, but we kept all of the access.” With this analogy, it looks like the EU have come away with a better deal. The question is has Britain really taken back control of its waters?
With the new President sworn into the WhiteHouse, the Washington post reported that Biden had removed the Bust of Sir Winston Churchill. Does this say the relationship between the US and UK is on the rocks?
