Description

The world’s cities will need to accommodate an additional 2.5 billion people by 2050. But what will this growth look like? We believe a combination of tall buildings and high density, along with progressive construction techniques and thoughtful, comprehensive planning, will help create cities with a high quality of life – a “sustainable vertical urbanism.” This podcast interviews the shapers of our urban landscapes, with the goal of enabling smarter, more sustainable cities and a more viable future for global populations.

Sustainable forestry is key to the success of the mass timber construction industry. The fact that responsible and selective timber harvesting can actually help preserve forests and protect them against wildfires, blight and extinction through clearance for real estate or agriculture is a counterintuitive notion that will take some considerable public education to take hold.
