My daughters sparked a conversation about losing yourself. A dwindling drive to do what you once loved to do. Raising children included. We hit the “deadbeat” dad in this episode as well. Our prison systems depends on the discipline and structure that men provide to be absent in communities labeled “black” especially. Many are raised without fathers in home so, naturally we drift towards “independence” in raising our children. We want the non-custodial parent to have little say.
