On Sunday before Kilkenny played Offaly in the hurling league, we met Kilkenny minor football manager Eoin Hennessy for chat about the work he is doing with his young squad.
Carlow opened their Allianz League division 4 campaign with a 2-16 to 1-15 win over Antrim at the Rogers Casements club in Antrim. We had the game live on KCLR and afterwards Brendan Henessy got lots of reaction from players, management and analysts.
Carlow collected silverware last night beating Wicklow in the O'Byrne Shield Final. 2-13 to 1-7 the final score. The game was live on KCLR and our match commentator Brendan Hennessy got all the reaction.
Last week Carlow's Niall Culleton earned his spot on the PDC tour where he'll mix it with the best including Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Gian van Veen.We had a chat with Culleton about what lies ahead and his journey so far.
Carlow enjoyed a 2-15 to 3-9 win over Laois yesterday in the Dioralyte O’Byrne Shield semi final in Rathvilly. Ross Dunphy and Colm Hulton with the goals for Carlow. After the game we caught up with Carlow manager Joe Murphy and forwards Conor Doyle and Colm Hulton as well as Laois boss Justin McNulty. We also hear from Aaron Amond, Ciara Kavanagh and Bronagh Nolan who were winners at the Carlow GAA awards.
Colm Hulton scored 1-3 as Carlow beat Wexford 1-13 to 0-13 in the O'Byrne Shield quarter final at St Patricks GAA club in Tullow. It was a special night for Paddy Doyle from the host club St Pats who came off the bench to score the second last point of the game on what was his debut. Joe Murphy's side will now face Laois in the semi final this Saturday at 2 in Rathvilly and the game will be live on KCLR. We had live coverage of last nights match and afterwards our match commentator Brendan Hennessy spoke to some of those involved including the local hero.
Carlow will play Wexford at Brother Leo Park in Tullow on Wednesday night in the O’Byrne Shield. By coincidence that was the fixture that opened the refurbished ground in 1966! Last week CK United were confirmed as one of the teams accepted into the FAI National League.The league will be the third tier of the League of Ireland and while it will be a truncated season with no promotion in 2026, it will be a full season to run alongside the first and premier divisions in 2027. That will include promotion and relegation as well as a place in Sports Direct FAI Senior Cup.CK United Sporing Director Shane Dunphy called into studio for a chat.

After making a positive impact during his spell as interim Manager Joe Murphy has been handed thew reigns on a full-time basis.Their first competitive game with Murphy as full time manager takes place on Saturday January 3rd when Offaly come to Eire Og. Regardless of the result Carlow will have a game on Wednesday January 7th in the O'Byrne Cup or Shield and that will be held in Brother Leo Park in Tullow.Ahead of the new season we caught up with Murphy for a chat.
On Sunday Muckalee will look to win an AIB LGFA All-Ireland Junior Club Final for the very first time, in their way are Cromane from Kerry.The game is on in Parnell Park and is live on KCLR's Kilkenny frequency at 2pm.Ahead of the game we heard from both camps including Muckalee captain Clodagh Hanlon.

Sligo and Wexford are in the bowl for the Tailteann Cup quarter-finals. Alan McLoughlin scored 1-3 as Sligo overcame Carlow by 1-27 to 2-19 . Paddy Mc Donnell scored 2 goals for Sligo while Ross Dunphy once again excelled and was named Detail Menswear man of the match by Willie Quinlan. Sean Nolan's 2-3 helped Wexford to register a 5-23 to 2-21 victory against Antrim.After Carlow's exit Joe Murphy spoke to our match commentator Oisin Langan

Carlow manager Joe Murphy has praised the attitude of his players following their Tailteann Cup win away to Fermanagh. Mikey Bambrick netted twice while John Murphy also grabbed a goal as the Leinster side overcame the Ernesiders. 3-18 to 2-18 the final score in Brewster Park. Kilkenny City Harriers runner Peter Lynch broke the Irish Marathon record in Dusseldorf recently. The American based former St Kierans student dropped into studio to chat to us about the achievment and what his plans for the future are.
Next Sunday at 2 Carlow get their Tailteann Cup campaign underway when they face Fermanagh in Brewster Park, that’s a game that will be live on KCLR thanks to Dan Morrissey and Co. After that it’s games against Wexford and Longford. Last Friday Club Carlow held their Golf Classic and we headed up to Carlow Golf Club to chat to Carlow manager Joe Murphy.
