Today Jason and I interview each other for our podcasts. Jason is the host of one of my favorite podcast, G.O. Get Outside. When covid hit he stopped his show and I started mine a year laer. He started his show up again in Nov 2023 so I wanted to have him on the show. We decided to interview each other. Jenn and her group ran into a mountain lion that was trapped in the canyon. It was blocking them form their last rappel. They went back up canyon and above the cat to try to get him to go back out of the narrows section he was in. it jumped 90 ft... They were then able to finish the last rappel and hike out of the canyon. The hope is that the Mountain lion was also able to hike out now that he was also on the canyon floor. I am starting a mini-series about flash floods to raise awareness about the crazy desert rains. Z broke his ankle in Mystery Canyon. It hurt really bad!! He was trying to steam over a shallow pothole so he would get wet. He would have to get wet later in the canyon anyway. He said in hide sight he would have just gone through the shallow pool knowing he would have to get wet later. The risk was not worth the consequence that day. He was able to hike out with the help of his amazing Crue. Many canyons in the Zion area are equipped with bolted anchors. For years plated steel bolts, of varying quality, were the norm. As these bolts age and rust away they are becoming time bombs. Tyler's goal is to replace these aging bolts with modern stainless steel glue-in bolts and update anchors to modern standards. Stainless glue-ins are by far the best choice in soft sandstone and should last for generations to come. We chat about what this entails and how you can help.
