Thomas Scaria
Resilience & Accountability Coach | Ultra-Marathoner | Author & Podcaster of Resilience+Rise
The High:
At the peak of Thomas' career as a Project and Program Manager, he felt invincible. With over a decade of experience and a string of successful projects under his belt, he was on top of the world. His dedication and hard work paid off, and he relished the challenges that came his way.
The Low:
However, the relentless cycle of managing tasks and navigating complex projects began to take its toll. The thrill of the challenge dulled, replaced by monotony and anxiety. He found himself trapped in a maze with no clear direction, where passion faded and burnout loomed dangerously close.
The Mess:
In the midst of those, life felt more endured than enjoyed. The once vibrant career Thomas had built seemed to crumble around him. The sense of accomplishment was overshadowed by stress and dissatisfaction. He questioned his purpose and wondered if it was all there was to his professional journey.
The Turnaround:
Determined to reclaim his life and passion, he embarked on a transformative journey. Drawing from his experience in project management and his resilience honed through conquering 85 long-distance ultra-marathons and marathons, he began to master the art of true resilience. He realized that challenges were not hurdles but stepping stones to a fulfilling life. He redefined his goals, aligned his daily actions with his deepest values, and embraced the power of small, consistent steps forward.
Key Milestones:
1) The passing away of Thomas' father & the loss of his job, in less than 24 hours, during COVID.
2) Taking the challenge to do 5 weekends / 5 full marathons (26 miles) to raise money for Cancer
research.
3) 111 KM (69 Miles) run challenge, for charity.
4) 2 packs a day smoker, with an unhealthy lifestyle & health issues, to an ultra-marathoner.
The Outcome:
Today, Thomas brings these hard-earned lessons to others as an Accountability and Resilience Coach. His career is no longer just about professional achievement—it’s about personal revolution. Each day is infused with passion and purpose, and helping others navigate their paths with the same determination.
Together, we break free from monotony, rediscover passion, and transform professional journeys into
enriching experiences. By helping others find their true north and stay the course, Thomas turned his own challenges into a source of inspiration and strength.
Thomas is also the author of Resilience+Rise: 26.2 Transformative Miles to Unleash
Your Marathon of Life Mindset
Life isn't a sprint—it’s a marathon, filled with unpredictable terrain, uphill battles, and moments of sheer
triumph. And just like any marathon, success in life requires resilience, focus, and the courage to keep
moving forward, even when the road gets tough.

Faith, resilience, and learning to harness our emotions are what help us grow stronger—not despite our pain, but because of it.

Welcome to the #ShareYourHotness Podcast episode 164!
Sky Tate was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She was actively involved in the performing arts, particularly dance. Initially, Sky envisioned a career as a dancer and pursued it as one of two majors in college. However, balancing dance and architecture proved overwhelming due to the rigorous studio hours required for both disciplines. After several hospital visits due to exhaustion and stress, Sky focused solely on architecture.
After completing her education, Sky moved to Los Angeles, California, where she gained diverse work experience. She worked independently as a residential designer, contributed to a design-build firm, and held a position at an interior design firm. Eventually, Sky discovered a unique opportunity to run a maker-space program at a private K-12 school. During this time, she also volunteered with various organizations ranging from arts and engineering to homeless outreach. She enjoyed weekly contact improvisation meetups with fellow dancers. Life was fulfilling in Los Angeles, but then she met her future husband, who was living in Utah at the time. They married in L.A. and subsequently moved to South Jordan, Utah.
While on their honeymoon, Sky became pregnant with their first child. The pregnancy was challenging due to an overproduction of relaxin, leading to Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), which severely impacted mobility. By the third month, simple tasks like walking became difficult, and there were instances where she was unable to get off the floor without assistance. She always hoped this would be the least of her concerns about her pregnancy. The assumption is that if a mother is very active before pregnancy, she'll have an easy pregnancy -- that was not her experience.
The delivery went as anticipated, but complications arose when the baby required care in the NICU. The hospital experience was fraught with inadequate support and a lack of professionalism in both Sky's and the baby's care. She was discharged without being seen by their attending physician, and concerns were dismissed until a follow-up with her ObGyn revealed that she had developed postpartum preeclampsia. This condition reappeared after the birth of her second child and necessitated medication for over a year.
This ordeal has motivated Sky to use every opportunity to educate other women about postpartum preeclampsia and the importance of self-advocacy in medical settings. Although doctors are bound by the Hippocratic Oath, biases can still impact patient care. Pregnancy and childbirth are the most vulnerable and challenging events that most women will face in their lifetime, but it's also one where we naturally hand all of the decisions to our doctors. She used the same ObGyn for both of her children, but the experience at the two hospitals was night and day. And the way she sees it, it's about advocating for oneself.
Six months after the birth of her second child, Sky and her family relocated to Southwest Florida, where they faced the loss of their home due to multiple evacuations over two and a half years. While simultaneously working toward homesteading goals and homeschooling her children, the family decided to leave Florida and embark on a new chapter --- embracing a life filled with renewed interest and beauty.

Rachael Curfew is a Professional Speaker, Relationship Strategist, and Certified Coach. She serves coaching clients and businesses worldwide, helping strengthen personal relationships so individuals can thrive in their professional careers. Rachael delivers transformation through speaking, workshops, and breakout sessions. Known for her calm, compassionate presence, she brings both warmth and clarity to every conversation—whether on stage, in a coaching session, or around a boardroom table.
_Rachael was in a very unhealthy and unhappy marriage, filled with fear. Along with her kids, she had a lot of anxiety and other mental health challenges. She did all she could with the knowledge, resources, and tools at hand to figure out how to help herself and her kids. She was in therapy, went to church, and did all the “right things” to be happy and forgive. She thought she had checked off all the boxes. One day, she felt this strong prompting that she needed to forgive. She thought, “What on earth does she need to forgive him for?” But she did. Everything she can possibly forgive at this point she has. But the prompting continued. It hit her, “She needs to forgive herself.” It took her a minute to figure out what she needed to do to forgive, and whom she needed to forgive. _
Forgiveness in a relationship is hard, especially when we do not get an apology or closure… and when it seems so unfair.
Forgiveness is about the relationship you have with yourself, and for many of us, our Savior. It’s a freedom process that allows an individual to be authentic and feel alive.
The process to forgive daily starts with the little irritations. Starts with the small stuff. It’s a skill, a habit.

Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Richard explored works like “The Acid Alkaline Food Guide” by Dr Susan E. Brown (2004), "The Alkaline Cure" by Dr. Stephen Domenig (2014) and "Get Off Your Acid" by Dr. Daryl Gioffre (2018), further solidifying his expertise in the field.
Richard's passion for wellness and advocacy for the Alkalarian lifestyle led him to establish the "Alkaline Club of America," aiming to certify one million "Alkalarian" individuals. He is currently dedicated to the "Heart Attack Prevention" business, resolute in his mission to save lives and prevent heart-related health issues.
With his first book set to be released in 2025, Richard's influence is poised to grow even further. His journey will culminate in a possible TEDx talk and a promising professional speaking career.
Richard is associated with influential figures like Jack Canfield, author of "Chicken Soup for the Soul," and actively participates in the National Speakers Association (NSA) Mountain West Chapter, alongside esteemed individuals and worldwide speakers, like Dan Clark and Kathy Loveless.
