Episode 73 Part 2 - The Scotia adventure The final bit – Auld Reekie and a dip in the Toon. In Part 2 we finish off our 450 mile Pub crawl with a few pints in Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne - some classic pubs and some not so classic.
Part 1 - Episode 73 - The Scotia adventure The final bit – Auld Reekie and a dip in the Toon we come to the last part of our 450 mile pub crawl up the North East coast of the UK - though we start we have a quick catch up on trips to Manchester, Sheffield and the surprise beery destination Sunderland.
Episode 72 The Scotia adventure- The middle bit– The land of Marmalade and Cow pies - picking up our 600 mile pub crawl part 2 in the city of Cow Pie and Desperate Dan - 2 cracking Dundee pubs feature along with the usual rollercoaster of opinions and disagreeing amicably we also round up recent beer trips to Buxton, Burslem, London, Stamford Bridge and Lindisfarne we do get about a bit – all in the service of finding great pubs!

A beery catch-up about what’s been in the news over the last few months, as always, there are tantrums, disputes, and amicable disagreements. We cover a fair bit of ground in Part 1 we catch up on recent beers, Bruce continues his gastronomic tour of our sceptred isle- pie n mash features this week - we cover steelwork pubs and banked pints, Isle of Man and Canadian brewing giants and the withdrawal of steaks, mixed grills and gammons from our largest pub chain.
In Part 2 we catch up on Bruce's many travels in seek of the perfect Guinness, fine ales and pub interiors, plus local gastronomic delicacies including Rochdale's Rag Pudding and overhyped Borough Market sausage rolls among many!

As one of us works for and spends most of his time on Britain’s wonderful rail network, we dedicate Episode 68 to ‘ales on the rails’ and also have a go at taking on the Telegraph listing out best rail station bars and pubs, London, Rochdale, Newcastle and Edinburgh all feature. We also find time to debate a famous IPA named after an Indian city being rolled out in our largest pub chain and report on some fine beers supped in the Sun back in the hometown of Malton
We head back to Doncaster and find the hidden beer gem which is the Doncaster Brewery Tap sample all 6 cask beers and find time to wobble back to the station via the Little Plough - a fantastic pub that takes you back to the 1930's but with reet good Yorkshire beers
Episode 67 Tom Puddings, Salt n Pepper pots and a dip in the Donny Dozen
Another Northern Trains discount day tripper and a two part trip to Goole and the UK’s newest city, Doncaster. We find a warm welcome in the Tom Pudding micro bar, dip into the Donny Dozen real ale trail enjoying a complimentary Sunday buffet and a pub stuck in the 1930’s. For a short while all 3 members of the Podcast crew sit at the same table drinking fine beer on Platform 3 of Doncaster station. Warning there are no references to Sam Smiths in this edition – Spoons feature as well as squirrel pies.
In part 2 we pick up with beery adventures in Whitby, discuss pub fire etiquette and start planning a trip to sunny Donny and Goole with our Northern Trains discount vouchers

Bit of bumper edition this one catching up on lots of beery adventures – pubs in Yorkshire Domesday villages, pubs in the backstreets of York and London and Scarbados – oh and a trip to the Rhubarb Triangle all linked by our hypothesis that a good pub needs an open fire
Episode 65 – Loitering In Lancashire Mill Towns – after a break over Xmas we’re back with a report from Bruce and Nick on a rail ale trip to Phoenix Nights country – unfortunately not too many highlights - though they do discover a great micro bar in Chorley Market and the UK’s oldest cider pub in deepest Bolton and find our loo of the year so far. We also find time to celebrate the new that Brewing is returning to Cockermouth with the new that Jennings has new owners and they are not a megla maniac big macro.
Apologies we had few technical recording the episode – the sound does drop occasionally but stick with it we come back.
