Music-thanatologist, Jen Hollis, shares the story of her last in-person music vigil in March 2020 before quarantine began. Jen's story is accompanied by an original composition, created and played by Dia Walker on harp.
“What I get to witness is other people coming to the hospital to say goodbye to people they love, whether they're the patient or the loved one, or even just the patient’s work of saying goodbye to their life. It is the gift and the honor of my life to be able to do this.” (Jen Hollis) Join me, Julia Reimann, a divinity student and aspiring chaplain, in this pilot episode of Life in the Liminal as we meet music-thanatologists, Jennifer Hollis and Dia Walker, and explore the interplay of music, presence, and silence in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
