This podcast is powered by The Dutch Masters! He was born in Switserland and started riding at the age of 9.His greatest achievement was in London 2012, where he competed at his third Olympic games. He was the only rider who jumped clear in the two final rounds of the competition and won the individual gold medal. He was the winner of the World Cup Finals several times and the winner of the European Championship in 2023.Many dreams came true thanks to this hard work, talents en patience.. De Flevoruiters is een zeer actieve vereniging met meer dan 200 actieve leden. Paardensportvereniging de Flevoruiters, opgericht in 1964, is gevestigd in Dronten en is een van de grootste verenigingen van Nederland voor ruiters en voltigeurs. Begin 2023 hebben zij een prachtige nieuwe accommodatie geopend, Hippisch Centrum Flevodrome. Momenteel maken alle leden, maar ook externe partijen met veel plezier gebruik van deze accommodatie voor alle lessen, bijeenkomsten en evenementen. Samen met de KNHS ben ik een integrale samenwerking aangegaan voor 2024. Hierbij gaan we enkele educatieve activiteiten samen organiseren door middel van bijscholingen en clinics voor een breder publiek op het Nationaal Hippisch Centrum. Zodat IEDEREEN in Ermelo kan komen rijden.Zo gaan we een aantal Global Horse & KNHS Clinics organiseren en de tweede clinicdag vind plaats op zondag 25 februari.Een drietal toptrainers uit Nederland zullen die dag clinics geven aan iedere ruiter die het leuk vind om meer te leren. Op 25 februari hebben we Tommie Visser, Femke Beljon en Bianca Schoenmakers geboekt voor de lessen. En vandaag ben ik te gast bij één van die instructeurs om meer te weten over haar en haar paardenleven. In de springsport stond ze bekend als de barrage-koningin, omdat ze bijna niet te verslaan was. She has earned it, because the Japanese has been a team member of CAVALLUNA for a long time and always shows full commitment.Although she was already a trained veterinarian in Japan, she turned her back on her homeland to pursue her passion for horses in Europe. At CAVALLUNA she started as a stable guard, eventually became a groom and took on small roles in the show. It is a very special honour for her to play the lead role this year, for which she has prepared intensively with months of riding, dancing and acting lessons. He started riding as a child and his masters were Luis Valença and Dr. Guilherme Borba. In 1984, he joined the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art as a rider, where he continues to work and is currently a Mestre-Picador. He is also a riding instructor and trains riders of different nationalities in individual lessons in his stables in Lisbon. Given his huge passion for horses and specifically for the Lusitano breed, he began as a breeder in 1989 when he founded the stud farm Lusitanos d’Atela. His daughter Ines has had contact with horses since she was a baby. Having been brought up in the studfarm, she was keen to have a professional life in the equine industry too. She went on to study Veterinary Medicine at Lisbon University and then spent some years abroad gaining experience in different areas of the veterinary world. Enjoy the proud story of Inês and Francisco Bessa de Carvalho in this interview!

She started riding at 10 years old at a local riding school in Belgium and got her first pony when she moved back to England. She had an unexpected breakthrough when she won the Talent Spotting Finals in 1991 which proved her passion for dressage. Many horses followed! In 1998 she set up the famous shop Classic Dressage together with Julia Hornig. She is married to another great dressage icon Gareth Hughes and together they are the parents of the very talented Ruby Hughes! The three of them are a real horsey family and I known them for years!! Today I meet them again in Weert at the Equine Elite auction in Weert. Júlio Borba - student of his father Júlio Borba, Luís Valença and his uncle Dr. Guilherme Borba – started to work at the EPAE (Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre) in 1992. During his twelve years at the School Júlio performed countless shows. In the shows that he took part at, he did; the quadrille, the Pas de Trois, Solo, Airs above the ground by hand (Piaffe, Levade and Capriole) and Airs above the ground ridden (Piaffe, Levade and Capriole). Júlio works with horses of any breed, on any level, of any discipline. Tijdens CSI Twente sprak ik met Maarten van der Heijden. Onder zijn leiding beleefde de Nederlandse paardensport de meeste succesvolle periode uit de geschiedenis. Tijdens CSI Twente sprak ik met Denise Nekeman. We spraken over haar studies, haar stal, familie en haar grote liefde Boston. In de gekoelde living van een schitterende Roelofsen vrachtwagen, terwijl het buiten 30 graden was hadden we een gezellig gesprek. Ze is op jonge leeftijd begonnen met paardrijden. Vanaf haar 15e begon ze serieuzer aan de wedstrijdsport deel te nemen. nadat ze haar echtgenoot Nico Witte leerde kennen kwam haar dressuur carrière in een stroomversnelling. ze reed met meerdere paarden op Grand Prix niveau en kwalificeerde zich voor de Olympische Spelen, wat door diverse omstandigheden steeds nét niet lukte.
