Floresville community members may hear sirens and see emergency vehicles at Floresville High School Friday morning, April 19. But don’t be alarmed. To help educate students about the dangers of drinking and driving, Floresville High School is hosting “Shattered Dreams” on campus that morning. The Floresville High School varsity Tigers baseball hosted the Brennan Bears April 13. The Tigers dominated Brennan from the onset and held onto their lead until the final inning. Luke Cardenas (8) pitched for the Tigers, and Aiden Juarez (6) closed out the game in the final innings. The Tigers won 13-3, bringing their record to 15-6-3 overall and 9-0 in District. Floresville hosted Uvalde April 16 and will travel to Carrizo Springs on Friday, April 19 for a 7 p.m. game.Article Link

The La Vernia Lady Bear softball team bested the Navarro Panthers 15-3 in dominating fashion April 12, highlighted by sophomore Makayla Soriano (19), who personally accumulated 6 RBIs for La Vernia. Made in the USA, and now ready to begin serving Floresville. A new transformer, delivered April 11, was built in Virginia and traveled overland to Floresville. “Everything went smoothly, once it got here,” Aaron Wagner, Floresville Electric Light & Power System (FELPS) CEO, told the Wilson County News April 15. The transformer has been installed at the utility’s substation on A Street in the heart of Floresville.
