On Storybrooke Circus, let's dig in to Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 7 to confront the Snow Queen’s origin story: as Ingrid’s childhood with her sisters Helga and Gerda unravels into fear, jealousy, and the catastrophic shattering of trust, the episode reframes isolation not as a personality trait, but as a wound. This is also the episode where everyone tries very hard to blame an object, a curse, or destiny itself, instead of doing the extremely inconvenient thing of admitting their choices matter. Hook spends most of this episode convinced his hand has turned him evil, which is relatable, because we’ve all had a bad day and immediately assumed it meant we were fundamentally broken. Coming back from winter break, this was a ZINGER of an episode. Henry is weirdly a lot older and deep voiced, Emma is trying to get her memories back, there are flying monkeys, and reveals all over the place.
