The roads that were paved by their predecessors have been repaved and given new structure (some for the better, and some for the worse). We here at GEG have this lovely thing called an opinion, so pump the brakes before you come at us, as we discuss the future of the arcade/sim racing games landscape. Forza 6 has more gameplay footage posted, and this has us as well as many other gamers wondering what this means as a whole for this particular genre. So crack open a NOS and lets go for a Test Drive on this uncharted Track of thoughts from the Crew here in the Underground recording studio. Zoom Zoom!
Have you ever just marveled at the creation of a character in a game, to the point that this character lives rent free in your head for a long time? Not talking exclusively about gooning over a character here, as sometimes this character design and choice is the absolute worst inclusion and off putting mess that can distract from the game overall. So today we wanted a chance to celebrate the winning formulas, complain and make fun of the questionable choices that we have come across, and maybe make a few jokes about it as we go. Its about to get real controversial here, real quick.
We here at Good Enough Gaming are always wondering what happens in board room meetings at these large companies and how certain decisions are made. The ongoing conclusions are that these people should include us in their meetings so that they might make some decisions that actually benefit gamers and consumers and not just the investors. But before we get on a huge rant about corporate greed, lets discuss what this is really about, and that is the rise of another extraction shooter game coming from the esteemed Bungie studios in Marathon. Will this game meet expectations and thrive, or is this another game that will succumb to the demise if others like it competing for a market that might not accept it at all. This should get explosive, a little soapboxy, and probably full of us making fun of certain games that have flopped horribly in the last few years. Welcome to the sh*tshow!
Well gamers, Blizzard/Activision has done it again! They have released more DLC for games that never seem to run out of content and things to do. It's almost as if they know when you are about to move on and then they just rope you right back in! Surprisingly this includes Diablo II DLC!? After twenty years of this game existing and five year old release of Resurrected, the game has a new playable class in the Warlock and this class will also be available in Diablo IV come April. How has this been received for the purests? What effect will this have on games out there now that have seen the resurgence of players for simple yet impactful DLC? This is what we want to discuss today. So war-lock in, perk those ears up, as we have summoned our best effort here and try and figure out what this spells out for the future of DLC in games.
Well before it was every Marvel Superhero was getting a show of their own, now it seems we are officially on the games turned to Cinema train. The flood gates have opened and we are now going to try and discuss all of the titles that are on the horizon as well as what they need to have learned from the previous successes and blunders. So join us as we walk through Baldurs Gate, talk to all the Residents of Evil, stoke a Street Fight or two, talk to the God of War and find out who Link is. Its going to be a Sonic rush of an episode.
Somehow 2026 is the year that wants to remind us how old we are and how many of our beloved franchises are celebrating milestones of their own. Today's episode is all about these franchises and our favorite installment or core memory from each one of them. So join us as we give our flowers to the titles that we hold dear, reminisce about the good times we had, discuss what we are looking forward to in the future together, and enjoy the mid life crisis as it unfolds. Happy Anniversary Good Enough Gamers!
Here we are back in the Vault as it were, and the boys have battened down the hatches and binged the latest video game turned TV show season of the Amazon Prime hit: Fallout. We might not be plotting the future (or lack there of) for the human race, but we certainly feel as though we have survived some trying experiences with the human race lately. So join us as we continue to survive and break down this latest season and guess where the directors plan to pole Vault the show to new heights in Season 3. We can't wait to get our Death-claws into this episode and talk about the Lucy-Goosey plot holes, Ron Pearlman, and Avalanche of circumstances that have the Ghoul headed to Colorado. So place your bets, it's time to “Prepare for the Future”.
First it was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then it was the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and now it is the triumphant return of the Avengers in a side scrolling beat em up, chaos filled festival of punches, power-ups and strange food health regens that we have fully immersed ourselves in for the betterment of our lovely audience of Good Enough gamers. So let's talk about the game and the genre that you could Iron-man in a day with your buddies, create a Storm of super moves on the screen, and talk about what is Knull and void about the aspects of this new retro based product. You can Bet-a Ray Bill that we have some thoughts on this! Let's get this Cosmic Ghost Ride-r started!
The N64 is celebrating its 30th Anniversary, yeah you heard that right, the 30th! If you are like us, and it feels like just yesterday that you were shredding your palms and thumbs on the old three handed controller joystick, then please come shed a tear with us as we admit how old we are and reminisce about the good old days and the iconic N64. To celebrate this momentous occasion we thought it would be prudent to share our own personal top 10 games on the N64, the titles that helped shape us into the colossal nerds that we are today. So get you sleeping bags out on the floor in front of the TV, finish rewinding the VHS tape before you switch over to the AUX input, get that bowl of Doritos and a 2L of Dr Pepper out, plug in the rumble pack, and take a stroll down Memory Card Lane with us.
Well the dust has settled and the whole gang has finally indulged in the finale of one of Netflix’s Premiere shows in Stranger Things. There is lots of argument online whether the ending was perfect, fraught with bad acting, rushed, full of plot holes or just overloaded with easter eggs and classic references to the time in which this is all supposed to be happening. How will the boys here at Good Enough Gaming proclaim their feelings on the final season?! Will it get a Max score, like an Eleven out of ten? Will we scream into the Mike with anger and confusion? Take a Luc-as we give the Upside Down a good Dustin to uncover all the secrets and theories abound, and maybe offer a few of our own. So, Hopp and Re-Joyce as it is time for the final Stranger Things episode to begin!
We here at Good Enough Gaming love a good co-op game (this is well documented), we also love a good party game that allows us to make more fun of Kyle and battle for supremacy within the team. There are more choices out there now than the classic and beloved Mario Party, and we wanted to make note of them for you to not only try, but go get some practice on before you invite your friends over. So get some snacks, jack up the volume, get the kleenex out and bring your own controller to this week's podcasting adventure. Party on Garth!
A new-old competitor has entered the battle! In the chase for the feeling of the squad getting together during the simpler times of our adolescence and the convenience of COVID times, the FPS world continues on with new installments in the ever popular, but extremely cheater filled space of the storied franchises; Call of Duty and Battlefield. Now these games have both been out for awhile, the majority of our group has played these games and has taken all of the experiences and data and formed our own take on the two newest titles, but also the future of shooters and live service titles. So join us as we scope out the landscape, pull the pin on what we feel about the explosive growth and future, and what we think needs to be taken into account in future releases. We may not be on target with everything, but we will certainly give it our best shot! Boom!
We got through the first round in last week's episode and now it is time to see how the final 8 games fare against each other for the 2025 Good Enough Game of the Year Awards. The Game Awards have now come and gone, and many of you know by now that we here at GEG have an opinion or two at times and will need to discuss, debate and distract each other with what we believe is the game of the year. Do we agree with this year's nominees? Do we agree with the chosen winner? Only one way to find out, Good Enough Style. We have once again made a bracket where we will have games face off against each other in the chance for supremacy. Because we just think we do it better here! So join us in our year end debauchery in this two part episodic journey for Good Enough Gamings 2025’s game of the year.
Well gamers, it has been quite some time since we all got over the death of our horse in one of the pods most beloved playstation games in the Ghost of Tsushima, and well, I think we are ready to be hurt again. That's right, the next installation of the gripping story based, sophisticated combat system, and visually stunning masterpiece of a series has come out in the form of Ghost of Yotei. So saddle up listeners, join us on our journey, as we unsheath our opinions and give our initial thoughts and opinion on the one of the biggest titles to drop in the last quarter of 2025.
The saying goes, “you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain”. This has now been made true for one of the most prestigious groups of medieval lore. Imagine being an apparition blessed by deities of old. Tasked with taking down none other than King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Now corrupted by some bad wine or something, Arthur has become unhinged and it's now up to you to take down the corrupted knights and set Camelot back on the virtuous path, no pressure or anything. With several classes, Lancelots of weapon choices and skills to acquire, experience to Gawain, and a incredibly fast rat that has made this fight Percival, this game has far more to offer than expected. So join us at our roundish table as we break down our experience with Sworn and other roguelike games!
Do you want to explore, loot, pillage and kill your way in an open world game with a bunch of crazy yet memorable cast of characters?! Well let the hilarious chaos ensue in the latest rendition of Borderlands, a beloved franchise for most of us here at GEG. So lets see if you got the Moxxi to enter the vaults, if you will go in-Zane trying to level up and get the gear you want, if you are Vex-ed by certain enemies/bosses or if you have the skills to be a Callis leader of your friend group and carry everyone through! We are going to give our two cents on Borderlands 4 and talk about how bad Kyle is at it. Come Minions! Its time!
It's never been a better time to be a tamer, trainer, enthusiast or a fan of some beloved animated series of old. This fall we were graced by two new titles from revered franchises that are synonymous with the suffix “-mon”. That’s right we will be discussing the neverending battle for Mon supremacy between Pokemon and Digimon. Specifically the new titles; Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Digimon Story: Time Stranger. So whether you like a plump dragon that gets wings on its head or a cat that evolves into a Victoria’s Secret Angel, there is a game for you to enjoy. So this b-Ekans the real question: who is the Best Mon? This is sure to cause some Augu-ments, so Shuckle in and be prepared for some Ghastly ideas and statements. The Good Enough Geng-ar very excited about this episode and the opportunity to Gab-with-you-mon!
We wanted to end off the season on a positive note this year! We want to celebrate the greats, and not just a particular game you have heard us talk about in ad nauseum over the seasons. No, we are talking about the developers that have taken the gaming world by storm in their respective decades releasing a consistent streak of bangers that we all hold dear. Of course we will likely rabbit trail and shit on a few of these companies that have “lost their way” so to speak, but let's be honest, you all knew that would happen. We are just Good Enough after all! So thanks for joining us for yet another season with the crew at Good Enough Gaming! Indulge with us on our season finale and lets see what this episode develops into.
Summer is coming to an end, fall is on the horizon, and that means the end of “go touch grass” season as well (especially for us Canadians). Now luckily the fall sparks the beginning of what is generally the greatest volume of game releases over the coming months. So what games are coming exactly that we are most looking forward to playing in the fall and early winter you ask? Well we are going to answer that very question today on the podcast! So get the kettle on, pull out the pumpkin spice, make sure the fireplace works and get cozy with us as we break down what we have on the docket to play! Oh, and make sure you let us know what you are looking forward to as well!
