We wanted to end off the season on a positive note this year! We want to celebrate the greats, and not just a particular game you have heard us talk about in ad nauseum over the seasons. No, we are talking about the developers that have taken the gaming world by storm in their respective decades releasing a consistent streak of bangers that we all hold dear. Of course we will likely rabbit trail and shit on a few of these companies that have “lost their way” so to speak, but let's be honest, you all knew that would happen. We are just Good Enough after all! So thanks for joining us for yet another season with the crew at Good Enough Gaming! Indulge with us on our season finale and lets see what this episode develops into.

Summer is coming to an end, fall is on the horizon, and that means the end of “go touch grass” season as well (especially for us Canadians). Now luckily the fall sparks the beginning of what is generally the greatest volume of game releases over the coming months. So what games are coming exactly that we are most looking forward to playing in the fall and early winter you ask? Well we are going to answer that very question today on the podcast! Some games get it right the first try, some learn some lessons, take the feedback and crush it in the next rendition. These are just the type of games we are looking at today, whether it is the second, third, fourth or hell, even the fifth in a series of games. We want to talk about Sequels! We want to show some love to the follow-ups that were better than the original, you know like the second sibling where all the mistakes the first time around are corrected and not made again, so everything turns out that much better! Disney has continued to pump out Marvel content through movies and shows, and much like a fire sale at a local retailer, everyone has come to see what all the rage is only to see that some of the best items are selling like crazy and some of the items were not quite as they appeared in the photos. We are here today to give you our good enough scaling of where we think everything in Phase 5 sits on our custom tiering scale, that we believe really encompasses a fair, equitable and professional scoring system for the material being reviewed. Thats right everyone we are talking about Doom: Dark Ages today! The newest installment in the storied franchise boasts some new facets on top of the classic form. Several of the guys have dabbled in the game already and we may have been getting amped up to the Soundtrack last month in the truck before entering GameCon Canada. Well folks, the resident Elden Lords are back in the thick of it and boy are we Glad-ius to be talking about the newest installment into the souls franchise; Elden Ring: Nightreign. Starkly different from its previous named title, this game has you going solo or as a trio in a face-paced, rogue-like, level and skill building frenzy that caps off with hellacious boss fights on each expedition. Every success or failure bears fruitful items and experience that can be used in future endeavours. We have all had a chance to dabble in the fun, hopefully you have as well. Everyone who has listened to us for a long time knows that we love the indie game scene and developers (especially Jordan). But today we are graced to be interviewing a man that kind of puts us to shame. Tomorrow marks the official release (in Canada) for the Nintendo Switch 2. So much has been discussed and brought up online already about the Switch 2, from the processing and visual capabilities as well as the pricing and games that will be available once it hits the market. We here at Good Enough Gaming have waited long enough to give our take on the newest Nintendo system and all of the plans for this system moving forward. Is this going to be revolutionary as many of Nintendo's systems in the past, or is this the start of a dark chapter and perhaps the demise of ownership and progress for gamers? As a game developer, you want the audience and player to embrace, celebrate, empathize, relate and fall in love with your main character(s), this helps build a story, a franchise and sometimes a cult following. Some characters have taken all of us by storm, been globally received, and immortalized. Unfortunately.. Some of these characters have fallen flat and would be better off wiped from our memories completely. There has been a rise in both releasing games as a beta, giving gamers a chance to dive into a game before it is completed, as well as games that have been delayed months or multiple times due to a multitude of factors, but coming out as a completed project. So what is better? Does it depend on the game or the genre? Does it matter if the game is great? What are the consequences if it is terrible? Some of the things you battle in this game scream Luna-cy, some are built a Maelle high, some are very Verso-tile, and some are called Monoco. We all love games here, some we shed a tear when it comes to an end, some we play over and over again, some we return to after a few years, and some we retire and reminisce fondly over for a long time. Today we want to focus on some of these games that hit us so profoundly that we wish we could experience them for the first time all over again. The year is 1579, you are caught in the midst of an intense civil war, glorious sword fights, stealthy figures lingering and causing disarray. Do we have your attention?! Now picture this all happening in Japan, with Samurais and Ninjas! Now we are cooking right? Well this is the stage for the latest of Jordans guilty pleasures, Assassins Creed: Shadows. You get to play as one of two new protagonists in this game that takes some historical events in Japanese history and puts you right in the middle of all the action. So is the newest title in the franchise and throwing Star? Or is going Samurai-ght into the trash? We will let you know  what we think, and if you don't like it, then Shinbakufu-ck you!

To all the writers that feel like as soon as they submit their ideas to a big studio or publisher, that your ideas will be ripped off somehow, HOO boy do we have a game for you! Let that nightmare/fantasy come to life as you travel through the mixture of two stories and completely different genres in Split Fiction. You play as two writers who were supposed to be in their own bubbles trying out a machine that is supposed to make ideas a reality, but one of them panicked and well..here we are, stuck in their chaotic clashing theoretical realities! To top that off, this game is also a cooperative multiplayer experience that might have some of you sleeping on the couch if things don't go well.
