I meet Michael Davy in the mainlodge of Sungani Lodge. We do overlook the beautiful Sungani lagoon where wildlife come and go during our armchair podcast safari. We are in the very remote most southern part of the South Luangwa National Park. Here the Davy family started 5 years ago a bold dream to open up their two camps, Sungani Lodge and Kulandila Camp. Paul, Michael's Father and Michael himself arrived in 2019 at an old safaricamp ruin. They decided this must be the place to built Sungani. The name Sungani means keeper or custodian and this is what they had in mind. Protecting this very special part of the Luangwa NP and creating acces for people who wants to experience one of the last wild spaces in Africa. Conserving a forgotten wildlife paradise for future generations is a brave step to take.
