Although methadone is very promising, it sounds almost too good to be true. I wanted some more balance in this podcast. Here is a good review on methadone literature, noting the promising results, but also noting that - Many studies are relatively small(<50pts) - Methadone is compared to other opioids using a nin-multimodal approach to analgesia, just opioid-only - Studies were not large enough to be powered for safety profile (resp depress, ileus, ...) [1 of 2]

Neuro monitoring adds substantial cost to the procedure and complexity to an anesthetic. Is there irrefutable evidence of its value in enhancing safety?
with the popularization of ERAS and increase utilization of anesthesia adjuncts, I would like to know how Magnesium, lidocaine drip intra-op as well as pre-op gabapentinoids affect neuromonitoring.
