Through Micah the prophet, the LORD summons the whole earth to watch as he comes down in cataclysmic judgment. When our safety and security are threatened - not to mention our contentment or happiness - we naturally trust a whole host of things to functionally rescue us. Influential people and money are at the top of this list. Instead, we're called to trust God only and always.

When you're overwhelmed and exhausted, and feel far from God, call on him anyway. Trust him to be both a strong and compassionate refuge, ensuring your safety and salvation.

In the midst of a stunning defeat, David cries out to God to make sense of this setback. His complaint turns to confidence when he recalls the promises of God and remembers that he will be saved so long as the Lord is still standing.
