Permaculture is a methodology that has been the latest and greatest buzzword. It may seem like a new concept, but it’s really not new at all. This has been around since the 1970’s! But, what really is Permaculture? Let’s break the word down. PERM (permanent) Culture (agriculture) Permaculture is about the elimination of what we think of as “forced farming” Instead, let’s adapt to nature and understand how to work with it and not against it. In this 12-week series, we break down each principle and give you tangible ways to apply them to your own homestead. This episode reflects on our first year living on our homestead. I initially felt really nervous to post all the things we COULDN’T get to in our first year, but that’s the what this is all about. We can take away so many lessons learned and blessings, even in struggle. While most of us desire to be fully sustainable, it’s tough to get there while working a full-time job.
