You're right, but I can tell you that it doesn't mean that you have to cram the information 24/7. You can just consider watching some tv shows and movies in the language that you want to learn, and it was the reason I've decided to learn french with lingopie. This platform made it pretty easy for me, and now I know french pretty well.
I can say that regular practice is the most important, and it's highly important to be consistent when it comes to language learning.
