The glory of the resurrection cost Jesus suffering and death. He provides hope for a better life with truth, love, and everlasting life. Sometimes, the truth of Jesus' resurrection is sandwiched between dressing up, Easter dinner, and an Easter egg hunt. There is no event in history that is more relevant and remarkable than the resurrection. The celebrations will go on around the world among God's people this Resurrection Sunday! And at GBC we will look into The Remarkable Resurrection of J
The earthquake shook so hard that rocks were split, and graves opened. Jesus died on a Roman cross with a soldier observing who knew death and dying well and said, "This surely was the Son of God." He saw something remarkable in Jesus in the few hours he was on the cross that he had not seen before. And what he saw was a fraction of what was unfolding. On Sunday, March 24, The Force of the Crucifixion of Jesus.

Memo on the New Life

2024-03-10--:--

Jesus promised he would send the Holy Spirit after he left. The time for the crucifixion was soon, and Jesus continued to teach his friends about what was to come. He knew he would return after death to teach some more but then he would ascend to heaven and the Holy Spirit would be sent to do some incredible things among his people. We will look at Memo on the New Life on Sunday.
The Lord's Supper is known and observed in Christian communities around the world. It is familiar and traditional, filled with substance and mystery. It began as a meal centered around Passover, then a fellowship meal with an element related to the death of Christ, and still later separated from the full meal; it became an ordinance. The practice of celebrating the meal varies from group to group and culture to culture, but it will contain the fruit of the vine and bread in its basic form. S

Can we be stuck, stubborn, and stupid when it comes to our understanding of God and the world? Jesus addresses that. In Sharpening Scriptural Skills, we will see what Jesus has to say.

Expectation

Expectation

2024-02-04--:--

There are times when we must adjust how we engage in certain meetings. So, how will you respond when meeting Jesus? You will meet him one day, but what if, in this lifetime, you have an opportunity to meet him? How will you act? What will you do? Just being prepared is a good idea, and that is the reason for Expectation this Sunday.
Jesus told his friends he would be with them until the end of the age. He would not abandon them. When Jesus left earth for heaven, his friends were told by the angels that Jesus would return from heaven in the same way, referring to his coming at the end of days. So, will Jesus be with them, or is he staying in heaven until the end of days? Let's look into this on Sunday in Jesus the Promise Keeper.
Death is difficult; it is the end of one thing and the beginning of another. But what sort of thing is it? What is beyond the veil? Theories and tales abound but maybe some clarity could be gained by getting information from someone who knows heaven and earth. Sunday, January 21, at Grace Bible Church of Pryor the sermon is Jesus, the Death Buster.
I Will Reveal Myself

I Will Reveal Myself

2024-01-07--:--

Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to many including 500 at one time. The resurrected Jesus appeared to Paul and later to John and for many Christians today that was it. Jesus made the rounds, went to heaven, and operated remotely through agents on Earth. He is coming back to take over and set up a new heaven and new earth but that is not yet. Contrary to the idea Jesus is showing up is the evidence that he is. He said he would and he does. So how are we to handle the Manifestations of
The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. What a concept! Spoken or written word? John says the Word was in the beginning. There must be more to this. We will conclude our Mysteries of the Messiah series with Mysteries of the Word.
The Mysteries of the Heavens digs into the coming of the Messiah and the many ways God communicated this incredible event.
The entrance of Jesus into history was a war cry, and the battle leveled up. The forces of darkness and light would meet and the authority of the Lord would prevail. What was evident in the unseen realm was being revealed in the physical world. Each of the four Gospels tells of this epic cosmic war, but each has a different starting place. Only Matthew and Luke tell what we know as the Christmas story. This Sunday, we will be in the first chapter of Mark. The Powers of the Kingdom of God M
The secret things of God are mysteries until they are revealed. God is wise beyond human years and experienced beyond all human beings. He knows how much to reveal at any time to accomplish his purposes. As we enter into the pre-Christmas Advent season we will read stories of the first coming of Christ and sing songs praising his birth. We are fortunate to know the rest of the story but those living in Israel in the first century did not know what we know. The most profound event was cloude
