'We come from an age where we could predict the next 10 years, do a 10 year strategy, and install a leader that could take us through the next 10 years. But now we live in a very volatile, changing world, where even predicting the next 12 months is already very difficult. And so, relying on 1 person to lead, becomes very difficult. So what we need to do, is to harness the strengths of everybody in the team, and form a team of leaders taking us forward. If you do so, you will notice that at different phases, other people will be inclined to know the direction or at least have an idea about the direction we need to be taking for things to be going forward.' Listen to this new Ambitious Leader Podcast episode, and get to know everything about our new colleague Frank Tsuro: * Learn about the meaning of his name and how it relates to The Happiness Factory * Learn about why he is so passionate about Team Coaching * Learn about why you -as a leader- don’t have the right to complain about your team or company! And also listen to how we changed the Ajax-dilemma into Frank's mother-dilemma :-)
This is a summarizing episode of the conversation I had with Veronika Modrava. In this summary, you will learn everything about the exciting strategic partnership between The Happiness Factory and Veronika: * how you -as a (potential) client- can benefit from this partnership * how Leadership Coaching and Training are a strong support for Strategic HR activities * how Strategic HR activities can't be successfull without strong Leadership Coaching and Training If you want to learn more about Veronika as a professional, then listen to the full conversation (episode 13).
The Happiness Factory and Veronika Modrava joined forces in a strategic partnership! In this episode, you will be introduced to Veronika, her activities, and her background. But we will also talk about how she became an independent service supplier in a field in which she thought it was not possible to be a service supplier in. We will talk about our partnership in detail, and we end the show with more philosophical questions like: - how to deal with the Ajax delima from an HR perspective, or - what keeps Veronika up at night? After listening to this podcast, you will feel like you've known Veronika for ages ;-) And that's exectly what is needed for a strong, upcoming collaboration!
"Money is the root cause of many evil things in the world! So fulfilment in life is not about money, it's about being happy and about reaching the goals that are meaningful to you!" An inspiring quote by Ivan Palomino in this new Ambitious Leader Podcast's episode. Do you tend to step into the money trap? Then you can probably learn from Ivan and Elena Agaragimova's entrepreneurial path! Together they created Bessern: a company focussing on making knowledge accessible to as many people as possible, AND making sure that acquiring that knowledge leads to a measurable behavioural change so that you can become happier because you’re reaching your meaningful goals! In this podcast episode, filled with lots of laughter, we talk about very serious things: * impacting 1 million people in 2 years * why setting up a company in Dubai * the fundamental and worldwide lack of agility, too little experimentation and high degree of risk avoidance in corporates * why you should never create a company with a friend and why Elena and Ivan did the complete opposite Listen to this new episode to discover how a Managing Director turns into a 'Passion Manager', and why even when you're impacting 1 million lives, you still have to deal with very human struggles!
A few weeks back, Dennis was asked by Pavel Golenistsev to have a chat about coaching within an organisation: - what is the impact you can create with coaching within an organisation? - what are the results coaching can bring you? - what's the distinction between impact and results? - why do businesses really need a coach? - what's the cost of having a coach vs what's the cost of NOT having a coach... and missing the opportunity to be challenged? You will hear answers to all these questions in our new Ambitious Leader Podcast episode! So if you wonder whether you, as a business leader, should invest in coaching or not, then you should definitely listen to this episode! To trigger you a bit more, here are a few of the oneliners that will hopefully stick with you: * Be aware, a coach isn't a coach! * Perception is always lagging reality! * The perceived problem is not the true problem! And most importantly: * When you think you don't need a coach, that's exactly when you him most! Enjoy the episode, and tell us what you think of it!
Almost everybody is convinced about the fact that good leadership has many benefits: the performance level of the team goes up, the KPI's do the same, and the well-being of the team members is positively influenced by good leadership. But how do you KNOW if you're a good leader? To know that, you have to look at the results your leadership style generates. But how do you measure the more intangible results like empathy, engagement and well-being of your team? In this chat, Karolien and Dennis talk about the importance of the more emotional/people side of performance; about the importance of data vs only feeling your leadership style’s effects; and about how to measure these effects in an easy and objective way. Our partnership with Heartount is a strong solution for this! This makes it easy for companies to distinguish between strong and less strong leadership styles; and it makes it easy for us and our coachees to objectively show our coaching interventions' results.
Learn about what social engineering is, how it can affect you -as a person and as a company-, and especially, learn about the important links between social engineering onboarding and every leader’s responsibility in this! A few things you will learn while listening to the full episode: "you can never protect yourself fully, but you can be ready!" // "the onboarding of every new employee is very important, because that's how and where you define your (safety) culture and guidelines" // "procedures and an open company culture are probably the best protection against cyber- and social engineering attacks!".
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to get far, go together. That's the true spirit of 'partnerships': making sure that the whole of all individual elements becomes more than their sum. But how do you reach that? And why are partnerships so difficult to maintain? In this episode we go into all the details that will enable you to build strong partnerships! We will start by enhancing your collaboration style, expanding this mere collaboration into a win-win model, upgrading that into a win-win-win model, and eventually even arm you to build a win-win-win-win situation!

This is a Q&A session that relates to the previous episode: "The Thin Line Between Being Ambitious and Holding Yourself Back". You will get answers to practical questions people struggle with, once they walk that thin line.
To get from where you are now to where you want to be, 3 things need to be in place: (a) your ambition needs to be clear, (b) you need to have a clear view of the path to travel, and (c) you need to now exactly where you are right now. When these 3 things are installed, there's nothing to stop you, right? That's what we will be discussing in this episode: what could be "wrong" with these 3 elements (ambition, path, yourself)? and how do you overcome the potential problems you're facing when getting those things right?

A summary of the full episode "S2-1. The Talking Stick". In this short version you get the highlights: good as an introduction to the subject, and easy as a reference to fresh things up.
It happens so often that people argue about something, although, in essence, they want to reach the same goal in the end. They're just not aware of it that, in the end, they're striving for the same thing. That mutual understanding could resolve a lot of discussions, and a lot of wasted time, especially in a business context. And there is a pretty easy solution for it: The Talking Stick. Listen to this episode to learn more about the concept, about how it can be used in different situations (and it's certainly not only about conflict management), and to learn about my personal encounter with the Nipissing First Nations, the real source of the talking stick!

A summary of the full episode "15. How to make impact with your appearance". In this short version you get the highlights: good as an introduction to the subject, and easy as a reference to fresh things up.
Being perceived as credible for what you do, gives you an enormous head jump in making your impact. In the first contact a lot of that credibility is created by the first impression, and that has a lot to do with your appearance: how you look, your smile, your posture, but also the cloths that you wear, your hairstyle, even the bag that you carry with you and the pencil you write with. In this podcast episode we, Véronique Hoex and I, zoom in on those elements. Véronique talks about various ways of how to fit in and stand out at the same time. Fitting in makes it easier to connect, standing out gives you the impact that you need to reach your goals easier.
A summary of the full episode "13. Why personal growth isn't incremental". In this short version you get the highlights: good as an introduction to the subject, and easy as a reference to fresh things up.
Personal change and growth isn't reached by incremental steps! It all starts with a big and resolute breakthrough change. This is a bold statement that is different than building upon insights. By combining the Lean terminology Kaikaku and Kaizen, with the 'hero's journey', I show you how real transformative change and growth comes into life.
