Recently, I’ve noticed a lot of things and habits that I used to have that I didn’t even realize at the time were disordered or signs of disordered eating. I think a lot of us fall into these thoughts or habits, so today, I wanted to talk about these signs and how to move past them, so you might be able to recognize them in yourself and seek help OR just check your thoughts and actions. This episode talks about examples from my life and gives examples of how to overcome cognitive distortions. Holiday Diet Culture

Holiday Diet Culture

2022-11-2417:20

Welcome to Not So Niche, a health and wellness podcast where we dissect the unattainable narrative we’ve been given about health and start to see it as something for everyone and every body. I’m your host, Arianna Kae and I’m a fitness instructor, wellness advocate, and someone who has struggled with a broken view of health for a long time. Join me as I discover ways to view ourselves and our wellness as whole and beautiful.  Today we’re talking about diet culture and the holiday season. I find in my own life that narratives around the holiday can have a big impact on the way I perceive myself and diet culture around me, so I wanted to talk a bit about that today. I also asked questions to my Instagram followers, so I read questions and responses from them as well. https://instagram.com/notsoniche.pod https://instagram.com/ariannakae --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/notsoniche/message

Your goals don't need to be shameful! The fitness market is dependent on us feeling bad about ourselves. Let's stop that! Even social media has pitched in, prioritizing body transformations and dieting content over body-positive ones. So HOW in 2022 can we shift our mindset to create goals that inspire without being negative and shameful? In this episode, we'll walk through how to make goals that will last and how to reframe the narrative of exercise and activity. I am a victim of going through it alone. I don’t know if you feel me on this, but way too often, I convince myself that my burdens are meant only for me. In this episode, we’ll be discovering what the bible says about our hurt and why the message of independent suffering is a complete lie. Welcome to Wait! Let Me Say That Again. Please leave a review of this podcast and tell your friends about it if you loved it. This episode is about making plans in the midst of the unknown. How are we supposed to live in the tension of trusting God, yet planning our futures? Isn't that against what God tells us to do. Join Arianna Kae for a discussion about how faith can inspire us to live free of fear for our futures and how living in the unknown can be a little less scary when someone is there with us. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/notsoniche/message
