This episode is a great conversation with Bradley Shore, the coach of Forbush High's Lady Falcons basketball team.
We do talk a lot about hoops and a little bit about houses and I loved when we talked about the importance of making memories with our children.
Enjoy this episode, including a new segment called Overrated or Underrated that I think you will like.
Also get out and see the Falcons play this season.
This week's episode, which was recorded about 2 months ago, is a conversation I had via Zoom with Mike Pittman.
I couldn't get audio to work right on my end after we recorded, so Mike not only was my guest, but also sent me the audio file for me to get it together.
Mike is a dear friend of Collide Church and is the Church Planting Strategist for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
In this episode we talk about his days as a drummer in a rock band, his days as a church planter at Vertical Church and his vision for church planting across the state of North Carolina.
I hope you enjoy the last episode of 2021!
This week I was able to sit down with Nicole Pardue and Matt Payne, coaches of the Starmount High School Lady Rams Basketball Team ahead of their cross-county rivalry game with Forbush High.
We talked about what makes for a good rivalry, what to look for in tonight's game, and the legacy they want to leave behind for their program, and with their players as well.
Enjoy this one and come on out and enjoy the games today. JV girls tip off at 4pm.
This week I got to sit down with Hannah Snow, Worship Intern at Collide Church, to talk about her growth as a Christian and a worship leader, about sharing a love of worship songs that don't sound like worship songs, and we got festive as we talked about Christmas music as well.
On this episode I sit down with Mark Smith, the Foster and Adoption Church Liaison with Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina to talk about how churches can help parents lead their children and how parents can do easy things to help their children grow in the faith.
We also talk about his new role and how churches can work together to foster and adopt and why that's so important.
Also, Mark shares how to make memories and enjoy the holidays and also offers some practical advice for those who have experienced loss this past year for how to enjoy the holiday season and honor those that they have lost.
In this episode I have the pleasure of speaking with Todd Unzicker, Executive Director/Treasurer for the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
Todd shared of our mutual love for the Washington Football Team (or at least a shared love for the glory days) and his love for Georgia Bulldogs Football and the amazing impact their former coach Mark Richt had on his life.
We also talked a little bit about fishing, and the great opportunities there are to fish both in fresh water and salt water in North Carolina.
Furthermore, we talked about his time at The Summit Church in Raleigh and their goal to plant 1000 churches in a generation and the amazing fact that they are almost halfway there just 10 years later.
Finally, we talked about the things that have been going on since Todd started his new role with NC Baptists just few months ago, including the amazing Fill the Tank weekend that saw over 1700 people get baptized in one weekend, and looking forward to the Annual Meeting coming up November 8th and 9th in Greensboro.
Todd spoke of the importance of every church being there and being united there at the meeting and as a movement of churches on mission.

A time for me to take a break from asking questions and instead answer a few of yours.
I really enjoyed sitting down with Michael Scott (not the office guy) to talk about great sports memories and the power of friendships and the pain of loss and the power of memories and how much getting married and having kids changes your life, and all for the better!
We talked about the amazing TV show, Ted Lasso and the great writing of Jefferson Bethke as well, so check those things out!
I got the chance to sit down with Nick Poindexter, Teaching Pastor of Collide Church, and talk a little bit about the start of our church, and where we see God taking us, and the church in general as we come out of the pandemic.
Of course, we also talk about 90s music and trivia and the Tar Heels as well.
Enjoy!
This week I had the chance to sit down with Collide Church worship director and student director Samuel Stone, and to be honest we really just got caught up in talking about worship and music and worship music.
I think super highly of this guy and I know I need to have him back for a second episode because we just scratched the surface and didn't get to some topics and questions I wanted to cover.
One thing he said that stuck out to me is that as people worshipping/singing during a church service, it should be "like a ball game with a seat belt."
Here's the deal, we all know that people (ourselves included) get super (and maybe overly) excited at a ball game, but many times when it comes to getting excited about what God is doing, or who He is, there is no excitement to be found. Now, it's clear that there are times to be quiet and times to be reverent, and we should always respect God (hence the seat belt), but all through the book of Psalms we are instructed to clap and to sing and to play instruments for God (hence the ball game).
So there's just a little taste of what is to come in this episode.
I got the pleasure of sitting down with Amy Rankin and Hannah Keaton to talk about our love for Courtney Elementary and some things we can do to help out Courtney and all of our local schools.
You may hear Hannah's kids or Amy have to get up and answer the phone, but this is real life. :)
We also talk about the fact that the hype surrounding Ticonderoga pencils is indeed real, so buy some for your favorite teacher today!

I had the privilege to sit down with Dr. Todd Martin to talk about Yadkin County Schools and his leadership and the amazing job the county's teachers did during COVID and also about our shared passion of fostering and adopting.
You don't wanna miss out on this one!
