In this episode of Chalk My Back! We bring you a fresh, off the press, off the cuff meet recap of Anas's TBS summer open meet! But first Abe has to get something off his chest and rag on his favorite powerlifting company while not doing his research yet again. After that we get into the heart of the episode and get you a summary of the high points and low points of Anas's meet experience. We cover his weight cut, how his recomp went and how he felt with each of his lifts. We go into each lift and how they felt and the event itself and how Anas thought the meet was ran. Anas gives us a breakdown into his attempt selection and how he and Chance formed a game plan to get him to his goal total. Anas also gives us a quick summary as to what he did in his training to get him to a 17.5kg PR total and how he did it with such little competition prep time since doing his last meet. We also cover future plans as to what he can do as a 74kg lifter and if he has any plans long term to move up a weight class. In this episode of Chalk My Back! We go over day 1 of the Europa meet where Anas's lifters Shelia and Naji competed to kick things off. We dive into the weeks leading up to the meet and what struggles the girls endured while prepping for this meet. Naji goes over weight cutting and the differences between different training styles she's experienced and what Anas has helped her with differently with her training now. We also take a dive into why Shelia took an extended break from powerlifting and what she has done since her break to get back into powerlifting, she also gives us some background into her powerlifting roots and how she ended up becoming coached by Anas. Anas, Abe, and Josh also ask the girls what they thought of the meet, how it was run, and the overall thoughts of meet prep to competition and what the girls are going to do with any upcoming meets and future plans for their totals. In this episode of Chalk My Back! we talk to the owner of the best powerlifting gym in central Texas, Tommy Janusz! Tommy was Josh's first powerlifting coach while Josh attended Angelo State University and has since gone on to open the largest strength gym in central Texas spanning strength sports such as powerlifting, strongman, and weightlifting. We take a deep dive into what got Tommy into powerlifting and learn his origin story with how he first got involved with the sport and how he came to establishing a successful gym and how he has had to adapt due to the pandemic. Tommy also gives us back stories into his International bench competition where he placed fourth and shares stories along the way that give us a glimpse into making the international, drug scandals, eating pizza and ice cream, and lifting with the Texas A&M team. On this episode of CMB! we do another QnA answering questions that you the fans posted on our IG page. We cover a plethora of topics including USAPL vs the IPF and more casual topics such as lazy Sunday and what we would be doing if we weren't powerlifting. Abe uses spider chalk exclusively for his sets, Anas would be a pro soccer player, and Josh would be a super roided weightlifter. We rapid fire questions such as Arby's, Sam's cookies, excel sheets, and Anas's internship.
