The commencement of menstruation can be more life changing than is expected. The transition from a carefree active life in play and sport, to a period each month of mopping up embarrassing fluids and being paranoid that everyone notices, as well as dealing with cramps, mood swings and energy fluctuations, can be quite daunting.      My special guest today is Katrina Christian, a West Australian school teacher and educator about menstrual health.  She specialises in girls’ wellbeing, with a focus on the knowledge, wisdom, and power of the menstrual cycle. https://wellwisewoman.com.au/  https://www.facebook.com/wellwise.com.au
Right now, the maximum human lifespan is 122 years. Experts base that lifespan on the longest-lived person with a verifiable date of birth. However, the average lifespans are very much different, with Australia’s being a bit over 83 years. And this statistic doesn’t even account for years of debilitating illness that may have been prevalent leading up to death.  Why are we falling so short of our maximum biological potential? My special guest is Dr Walter Bennett, a specialist in regenerative, hormone and functional medicine with over 20 years experience, including as Doctor of Chiropractic and Family Nurse Practitioner. https://www.elkrivermedical.org/   drwalterbennett@gmail.com
Frailty and disability are all too often associated with ageing. The biggest effects seem to be felt from 50 onwards, even though many have a lifespan into their 80s and 90s. Does that mean 40 or 50 years of accelerated weakness, dependency and disability?  Some fitness experts say no; it doesn’t need to be so.  This half of life can be the most rewarding phase where all our wisdom and experience can be supported with health and energy. My special guest today is Timothy Ward, author of the book: THE GOAT WITHIN, a blueprint for living strong with power, vitality, and unstoppable momentum. https://fitnessquadrant.net
How do we know what we want out of life? What motivates us to get anything done at all? What does it mean to seek ‘good times’?  How can we avoid boredom, which saps motivation? This will be a deep dive into the mind to unpick our reasons for doing or not doing.  My special guest today is Christin Schnepf, an adventurous sociologist, human behaviour expert, and Good Time Strategist. He blends Ph.D.-level research with real-world exploration across continents, and has been featured on TED, in China Daily, and on national TV in China.   https://goodtime.app     https://chrisw.co/  https://youtu.be/Kr33tb7ojRM?si=WHrASuFEH7pL8rcM
Autoimmune thyroid diseases are the most prevalent organ-specific autoimmune diseases affecting about 5% of the population. They include Graves’ Disease and Hashimoto Thyroiditis, among others, and reflect the loss of immunological tolerance.      My special guest today is Dr Kevin Smith, a board-certified functional medicine practitioner who has been in practice since 2001. In addition to clinical practice at Integrated Thyroid, he's also a public speaker and published author. His second book on functional medicine is scheduled to be released later this year. https://integratedthyroid.com
There can be a wide spectrum of differences from person to person in how stress and magnesium deficiency are expressed. Someone may experience cramps or headaches, while another sleep problems and restless legs. Someone else may develop diabetes, heart disease or heart arrhythmias, hypothyroidism, or digestion and gut problems. How is the body trying to communicate via symptoms?          My special guest today is Dr Evette Rose, an author of 21 books, speaker, and holistic counsellor with over 7,500 clients. She helps people understand resolve emotions that may have impacted our well-being. https://metaphysicalanatomy.com/event_s/ https://evettefreebook.com  Free Ebook: "Restoring The Emotional Body"
We tend to forget the body is biology, and not a metal machine with fixed components like your car. If something goes out of alignment - or out of 'tune' - we can experience a lot of pain from that stress, wear and tear, which also causes magnesium depletion, further weakening the electrical-nervous system and metabolism.      My special guest today is Dr Alex Hilario, founder of Chiropractic Rehabilitation Source in Yonkers, NY.  With over 21 years of experience in chiropractic care, Dr Alex helps patients overcome chronic pain, avoid surgery, and reclaim their quality of life through an holistic, faith-rooted approach to healing. https://chirorehabsource.com/  Dr.Alex.Hilario on instagram
Rather than masking ongoing pain with medications and no end in sight, why not look at what is causing the issue and fix it?      My special guest today is Dr William Moyal, a chiropractor and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) based in Florida, with over 39 years of clinical experience. He has developed a 3-step system in non-surgical treatments for chronic back pain, and his work has been featured on major platforms such as CNN, HGTV, Fox News, NBC Sports Network, and in publications like the Miami Herald and Sun Sentinel. He is also an 18-time author and has been recognized as one of America's Best Spinal Decompression Physicians. https://coralwaydisccenter.com/  linktr.ee/drmoyal
Women tend to outlive their men folk, so they may at some stage be faced with a scenario of living without a partner – or without the ‘team’ they had been used to. How can women stay independent and resilient in their golden years, and in the face of big changes?        My special guest today is Allison McCune-Davis, a Traditional Naturopath and working mum of 5.  She is the author of the book, Sixty Is a Good Start: A Powerful Body, a Purposeful Life, and a Plan to Make it Happen. She inspires women to embrace aging as a time of opportunity, vitality, and purpose, and her motto is:  Feel Good, Look Good, Have Fun. https://AllisonMcCuneDavis.com
Therapists commonly look for possible causes of pain, inflammation and disease in terms of injury, toxic exposures or bacterial infection. However, another major contributor is the toxicity of unresolved emotions that stay buried and unhealed, triggering physical symptoms and ill health. How do we cleanse from unresolved emotional issues to free us up to live our best lives?      My special guest today is Amy Vincze, an expert Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Coach and Founder of the Soar with Tapping App.  https://soarwithtapping.com/podcast-special/
Chronic fatigue and inflammation are common symptoms of many diseases. It doesn’t matter what age you are at, if you get sick, you feel very tired.  Of course, as we age we get a bit slower too.  So what exactly is happening to the production of energy by our cells in a diseased state?  What can we do to support energy production to help our immune system cope with its ‘house maintenance’ in recovery and maintenance of wellness?      My special guest today is Daniel Tausan, who is a scientist with a degree from the University of British Columbia in Stem Cell Biology and Bachelor of Science in General Biology. He worked in research in the molecular profiling of exercise, looking into comprehensive blood panels in search of biomarkers for predictive health analytics.  https://timelinesciences.com/
There is a lot of talk lately about ‘biohacking’ yourself in order to heal from physical or emotional pain. What’s the difference really? Both types hurt. In one sense physical pain from injury is often easier to recover from than emotional pain from grief, fear, loneliness and isolation. These mindsets present the greatest stress and danger to our wellbeing because unresolved emotional pain eventually translates to physical disease. The mind can create the problem, but it can also solve it. My special guest today is Beatty Carmichael, the author of The Prayer of Freedom—a science-based prayer method that helps people break free from a host of issues including: chronic pain, anxiety, addiction, emotional trauma, and even bipolar disorder. He teaches this method at one of the largest addiction recovery centres in the U.S. http://ThePrayerOfFreedomBook.com
The modern urban lifestyle seems to be getting evermore stressful with mounting financial pressures and environmental exposures. More people are becoming magnesium deficient, which then causes a cascade of other symptoms and premature ageing.  How can we afford to get off that treadmill and back to a more enriching and enjoyable life?      My special guest today is Elizabeth Bruckner, author of The Homesteader Mindset. She holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. www.CreateWellnessProject.com
Even though women have to deal with hormonal pimples and menstruation each month, after the body finishes its spring cleaning event, the system gets a revitalising boost of health and radiance as hormones rebalance. However, when perimenopause or menopause commences, those cycles of cleansing and renewal can go way out of wack, causing extreme fatigue, sleep disorders, anxiety, brain fog, metabolic issues and weight gain, as well as stressed and saggy skin. My special guest today is Anna Pang, a menopause specialist helping women in midlife rejuvenate, balance hormones, and regain energy naturally through the Yin-Yang and Precision BioBalance Method. https://menopauseskincare.life/
Have you wondered why some people get caught up in a cycle of addiction and self-sabotage? These behaviours are often linked to childhood traumas that have not been resolved or healed.  It’s emotional baggage that gets carried forward as negative self-talk to pollute future life experience and relationships.      My special guest today is Richard Tierney, author of Trauma Recovery Anonymous. The book describes his recovery from being stuck living out his adult life emotionally as a 12 year old due to an unresolved trauma. He made a decision to heal from it and developed a practical psychological method to release himself from the painful emotional attachment. The method is so successful that he now teaches others to help heal from past traumas in just 3 hours. https://www.amazon.com.au/Trauma-Recovery-Richard-T/dp/2269276159
Mental health issues are escalating at an alarming rate. Last century psychiatry involved a lot of talk therapy and introspective analysis:  Now it’s more about labelling (diagnosing) from a list of symptoms in the psychiatric DSM, which are linked to a list of psychotropic drugs, potentially leading to unhealthy dependencies. Most of these diagnosis labels have significant overlap, such as autism, ADHD, schizophrenia and depression, which are prone to differing subjective opinions, depending on perspective. So, it becomes all too easy to prescribe potentially dangerous drugs which may not be appropriate. My special guest today is Dr Ric Kealoha, a trailblazer in root-cause medicine, functional nutrition, and advanced healing protocols.  He has extensive experience in the physiology of mental health breakdown, chronic stress and recovery. https://www.instagram.com/kealohaadvancedmedicine/
What are the effects of the increasing electrification of our work and home environment? Our earth’s own electromagnetic field protects life from the harsh solar space environment, but humans have now amassed a grand array of electro-pollution that adds a great strain to our life and health. From TVs, computers and mobile phones beaming out EMFs, to radio frequencies, radar and electrical leakage from power lines, we are now enveloped in a soup of unnatural frequencies and electrical energy. My special guest today is Carlos Millan, a software engineer, biologist, historian and chi kung therapist who lives in Mexico. He is involved in research to understand how life reacts to and deals with electro-pollution. https://about.biome.mx/
We may get to a stage where we realise our mistakes or the bad habits that need changing, but cognitive awareness isn’t often enough to make the right changes.  This is because habits are part of the autonomic nervous system and drive our actions from a subconscious domain. How to re-write the program that went into autopilot is the challenge. My special guest today is Kelly Hale, a specialist for 25 years in occupational therapy, movement exercise and gut health management, which can influence the brain to better regulate the nervous system to cope better and relieve stress. She has expertise in Pilates, Brain Gym and craniosacral therapy.  https://inspiredwell.com/inner-peace-reg/ https://inspiredwell.com/#dipipopup-19367591
With neurodivergence, autism and Asperger Syndrome on the rise, there is much confusion about how to integrate these ‘diffabilities’ into a workable social model.  Not fitting into our old neurotypical models of social behaviours and expectations can cause much trauma and emotional pain for those on the spectrum.  Stress and anxiety can push them into alcohol and substance abuse, which means special gifts and talents may be lost. My special guest today is Ryan Christensen, author of the book ‘Winner Peace: How to End Inner Conflict and Make Success Inevitable.” Ryan has twenty-three years of experience in the intelligence community, specifically in counter-terrorism and counter-proliferation operations. He is a veteran of the Marine Corps and Air National Guard. He also specialises in High Performance Hypnosis. https://www.ryanthehypnotist.com/
Stresses, chemical exposures and nutritional deficiencies can cause excessive waste build up in our brain and central nervous system, which can lead to toxicity, brain fog, headaches and inflammation.  If our brain super highways of electrical and neuronal activity get clogged with traffic jams it can get hard to think clearly, memory can fail and emotions can get out of control.   My special guest today is Michelle Davies, fully trained in osteopathy with 27 years of practical experience. She is an expert in the glymphatic system, and now also an accomplished author of the self-help healing books; Miracle Worker and Mental Clarity.
